things you said that i wish you hadn’t
things you said“Donghyun-hyung!”
I turned around and put on my practised smile. I wonder if he could tell.
“Donghyun-hyung, I brought some snacks to eat.” Minwoo chuckled, holding up a bag as if as proof. “And two bottles of soju.”
It was easy to smile at him.
It was.
“Thank you.” I reached out and offered to take the other bag containing the drinks. “I’ll take it.”
“It’s not that heavy, but alright.” Minwoo grinned, then reaching for my hand with his now emptied hand. “So we have an empty hand each.”
I watched our hands, letting Minwoo drag me along.
“My friends in university saw the previous week’s show they put up and all said it was great.” He paused in his steps, turning back with that smile I used to love. “It got me all excited too.”
“I see.” I nodded simply in reply.
-
“Was the kimbap good?” Minwoo said over the music, leaning close to my ear.
“Yeah.” I smiled, chewing onto the said food.
“It’s been a while since I made it, glad it still tastes good.” He laughed, then popping another into my mouth. “I’ll make you more next time.”
I flinched.
“Did you bite your tongue?” Minwoo fussed, pressing closer.
“No.” I shook my head hurriedly, managing a smile while shifting away. “It’s okay.”
Shrugging off the issue, Minwoo then handed me my bottle of alcohol before turning his attention back to the artist on stage. “Outdoor concerts are pretty cool. Let’s go to another one again soon.”
I watched him watch the stage, not minding my lack of reply.
Not knowing how much I wish he didn’t so casually make such empty promises.
I watched the tan line on my finger, gently rubbing over the now ring-less finger.
He didn’t notice.
