Hold My HandSeohyun had been transferred into a regular room after hours of testing as Yonghwa wanted to know what exactly was wrong with her. The doctor had found her blood sugar to be too low which probably caused her body to suddenly shut down. She was hooked to an IV that gave her body the nourishment it badly needed. He recommended for her to stay the night as the results for the other tests would be available by tomorrow. He wanted to watch over her and make sure there weren’t any other reasons causing her to faint.
Yonghwa watched her sleep. She looked so fragile, an innocent lamb as she slept. But her brows were creased as if she was still unhappy in her sleep. Yonghwa held her hand and gently gave it a squeeze.
Seohyun felt someone warm holding her. Fighting through the haze she was in, Seohyun opened her eyes and blinked repeatedly as she tried to take in her surroundings.
“You’re awake,” Yonghwa smiled at her and she realized it was him touching her earlier.
“W-Where am I?” she whispered as she tried to clear her head. Then she remembered what had happened and instinctively held her belly. Did something happen to her baby?
“Don’t worry baby, everything’s fine,” Yonghwa whispered and smiled at her once more.
“T-Thank you,” she sighed as she felt relieved.
“How do you feel?” he asked.
“A little fuzzy, but I guess it’s my fault for missing breakfast earlier,” she sighed and looked out the window. Silence ensued.
“Why are you working so hard Hyun?” Yonghwa asked, deciding to break it.
“Raising a kid requires money,” she mumbled still refusing to look at him.
“But I gave you enough money to live comfortably! You could’ve finished school and still not lift a finger during this entire pregnancy!” he reasoned. His voice revealed how angry and frustrated he was and Seohyun was annoyed as well.
“Well it has nothing to do with you!” she screamed. Stop acting like you care, you bastard! She had balled the sheets in her hand as she tried to stop herself from slapping him.
“But I care about you!” Yonghwa grabbed his hair in frustration.
