Seeing him enter and sit across where we were shocked Seohyun so much. It hurt as she remembered what happened and what occurred before she and Yonghwa went to the dinner. She knew something like this would happen, but she chose to be strong. Yet remembering what transpired earlier broke her heart…

Flashback

            Seohyun woke up alone in the apartment. After being back in Seoul from their mini vacation, Yonghwa had surprises for her daily. Last night was the ring she was wearing on her finger today and now, there were cute little blue baby booties by the bedside table. She smiled as she remembered she hasn’t checked the baby’s room yet and was surprised at how pretty it turned out to be. The wallpaper was blue and the cabinets and cribs were white. A dainty light pink curtain was draped by the window and toys were piled on one side. She walked towards the dresser and saw that it was filled to the brim with baby clothes. She turned and looked around and saw a stroller on side as well, a little bouncy thing, a changing table and stuff she couldn’t name. She didn’t even know what everything was for.

            Did he do all of this for me while we were on vacation?

            By the window was a rocking chair with a pink afghan matching the curtain. She walked over and ran her hand on the wood, giving the chair and experimental push. It creaked once and then swayed gently back and forth.

            Seohyun felt her feet protesting from walking too much, so she removed the blanket and sat, staring around the room he had prepared for their first child. She knew her baby would be spoiled with love. And she didn’t mind that thought. With this gesture, she had fallen deeper in love with him if that was even possible.

            Tonight will be the dinner with his friends and mother, but even that didn’t dim her excitement or happiness. And maybe that had been his plan all along, to take extra measures to show her how much he supported and loved her.

            It had certainly worked, because she couldn’t imagine anything they could do or say that would make the cloud she walked on evaporate.

            Yonghwa cared about her. He wanted to marry her. What else mattered?

            She hugged that thought to her later as she picked through her clothing, trying to find the perfect outfit to wear to the dinner. Before, it wouldn’t even occur to her that an outfit was too y or revealing. If it looked good on her, and if she knew Yonghwa would like it, it was her only criteria. But now she worried that with the sentiment already being that she was a…… she would merely perpetuate that belief if she wore anything that wasn’t ultraconservative. And that pissed her off. She shouldn’t care what these people thought of her. But it wasn’t that easy. They were important to Yonghwa and Yonghwa was important to her.

            Warm hands suddenly stole over her body, sliding around to her belly. She was drawn into a hard chest and sensual lips nibbled at her neck. She sighed and relaxed into Yonghwa, her pulse speeding up.

            “Is there a particular reason you’re standing in your closet staring at your clothes?” he murmured against her ear.

            She turned and laced her arms around his neck as she rose up on tiptoe to kiss him. “You’re home early.”

            “Couldn’t wait to see you.
