“Boss we’re here.” Aeri heard Jongin’s voice.

“Good, where is she?”

She instantly woke up upon hearing that voice - it was Mr. Han’s voice.

“We handed her to Mr. Yoon and he gave us this.” Jongin handed him a tablet that was monitoring her.

“Aeri was such a good girl. But just like Jang Dongwoo, she turned bad. And when you’re bad, you need to be punished. You should know you brought this onto yourself.” He talked to the monitor.

Aeri tried to make sense of where she was but the room was empty and unfamiliar.

“You two have done well, especially you Howon.”

“Hoya?” Aeri froze.

“I knew you would come to your senses and return to me. I told you, true love doesn’t exist in this world but you and Jang Dongwoo didn’t believe me.”

“I’m sorry I ever disappointed you, Boss.” Hoya answered.

“I’m glad you learned from Dongwoo’s mistake. It’d be a shame for you to end up like him.”

“Hyung’s death is Kim Aeri’s fault.” Hoya said.

“Money got the best of them. If it weren’t for greed, they wouldn’t have driven your parents to their deathbed.”

“But Boss helped us get revenge.” Jongin stepped in. “Boss made them suffer more than our parents did.”

“How did you do it?” Hoya asked.

“Just a few of these.” He held up a small packet of white pills.

“And of course, I got someone to to give their brakes some special treatment. It was so satisfying seeing her father fly through the windshield.” He laughed.

“Now you two will have your chance to make their child suffer.”

Aeri choked.

She didn’t know whether to scream or to cry.

Her heart broke.

Again.

She felt suffocated - she wanted to escape.

“She looks helpless but that’s exactly what we want.” Mr. Han’s laugh echoed in the warehouse.

Hoya and Jongin also took a glance.

“She’s awake…” Jongin’s eyes widened.

Tears continued to run down Aeri’s cheeks.

Her breathing become irregular and heavy.

“I guess he’s right. True love doesn’t exist in this world.” They heard Aeri’s voice project through the tablet speaker.

“Good. She heard everything.” Mr. Han smirked.

“Everything?”

“Of course. She’s probably dying to join her parents and bro
