“Bye oppa!” Aeri unbuckled her seat belt.

“Are you sure? It’s your first day…and you’re new.” Woohyun opened the car door.

“I’m 16, I think I can manage. Bye!”

“Okay, I’ll see you after  - ”

And before Woohyun could finish, Aeri was already across the road. 

“Who’s that?” Hyunsik pointed to Aeri as she rushed passed him.

“Who?” Hoya and Jaehwan turned but barely got a glimpse of her.

“Who are they looking at?” Yena stared at them from the inside of the school.

“That girl.” Ara pointed to Aeri as she entered.

“Who’s she? And how dare she enter my territory without permission?” Yena muttered.

“Class! Quiet! We have a new student. Please introduce yourself.”

Aeri entered the room and scanned the class.

The first person to catch her eye was a boy sitting at the back of the class staring out the window. He seemed distant from the others and deep in thought. He wasn’t the best looking but he had a charm Aeri couldn’t quite pinpoint. Simply put: he was different.

She didn’t even know him but Aeri could feel her heart race and cheeks redden just from his presence.

“Love at first sight?” Aeri thought to herself before quickly returning to reality.

“Hi, I’m Kim Aeri. Let’s get along and be friends.” Aeri bowed.

“It’s her…” Ara and Yena’s jaw’s dropped.

“Aeri?” Hoya’s head shot up and in front of him was Aeri.

“It’s her…” Hyunsik nudged Jaehwan.

She stood shyly in front of the class with one hand covering her wrist.
