Although Tao was tired, he felt energized at the same time. Energized mentally that is. As he ran forward, passing by his old friend, Luhan, he lifted the sword and struck it down on the creature. Blood didn't spill as he expected it too, instead the blade of his sword made a clean cut through the monster.
Parting in half, it split wide open and fell limply to the floor. It was an easy kill and Tao felt superior again, as if he hadn't missed a millennia of training. Satisfied with the kill, he turned back and grinned at Luhan.
"Gege, you really need to learn how to use a sword," He joked. Using his thin sword as a walking stick, he slowly walked back to Lacey.
"Hello savior, my name is Huang Zitao, but you may call me Tao." He leaned forward to bow to her, but he suddenly felt weak. Dark eyes closing shut, he fell down, about to smack face first to the floor until Lacey swiftly caught him.
"Now he's knocked out." Lacey clicked her tongue, inspecting the swordsmen carefully. Thankfully there seemed to be no injuries on him, but he did look dead tired. Tao's black hair was drenched completely in sweat along with his face, and there were natural bags under his eyes.
"I wonder what his punishment was," Lay murmured, lifting Tao's pale hands.
Immediately, her eyes widened. His hands were completely red, skin chapped and peeling. There was dried blood caked on his fingernails, as if they were close to being ripped off. A green glow surrounded it, healing his hands as quick as it could.
"Let's find him a room..." Lacey said quietly. Lay took him from her hands and carried her gently towards one of the free rooms. When they set him down on the bed, Lacey placed a hand upon his forehead.
She cursed under her breath, "He's so sweaty... I'll be right back guys, I'm going to go fetch him a towel, don't worry it'll be quick," she added for reassurance. Hurriedly, she rushed herself out of the room to find a towel in one of the bathrooms.
Once she left the room, Lay said to Luhan, "Help me remove his clothes. I need to see if their are more wounds and he's sweating through them anyways."
Wordlessly, Luhan nodded and started to the black coat Tao wore. When it was removed, the two winced at the scent. Tao reeked of sweat. They took off his loose dress shirt and tugged down his loose pants. They slipped off his shoes and socks that were sticking to his feet, his hourglass tattoo visible on his left ankle. There was sweat coating him everywhere, parts of his body was red, mostly around the arms, and he wouldn't stop breathing heavily.
"What do you think his punishment was?" Lay murmured, looking around his body for any visible injuries.
"Not really sure..." Luhan trailed off, inspecting Tao's once battered hands.
Lay started feeling his arms gently. "Hmm," he hummed, looking highly concerned.
"What is it?" Luhan snapped his head up to face him.
"His muscles are extremely sore, pulled even." Lay answered. Pulling his hands back he wondered aloud, "Was he forced to lift the world or something? These are very serious."
Luhan furrowed his brows, "Then how was he able to fight that thing back there, let alone lift his sword?"
Lay lightly chuckled, "This is Tao we're talking about. Even in the short amount we met him, you should know Tao is not the type to back down from a threat such as that monster."
Luhan just pursed his lips and nodded in agreement. When
