"Wherever you go,
I will let you down,
But this lullaby goes on."
-Sarah Dessen, This Lullaby
"I'm sorry for murdering you, I'm sorry for killing you in cold blood. I'm sorry for burning you to death, I'm sorry for permanently damaging your face, I AM SO SORRY!" Chanyeol screamed, his flames finally dying out.
Izzy didn't hesitate to let out another screech as the chair in front of Lacey's vanity was thrown at him. Quickly, Chanyeol's flames disappeared and he caught it just before it could collide to him.
"What do you want from me?! I'm sorry, okay?!" Chanyeol yelled.
"I want you dead!" Izzy shrieked.
Chanyeol, who couldn't hear her, continued his flurry of apologies. "I'm sorry for setting you on fire! I'm sorry for killing your husband! I'm sorry for everything I've ever done to you—"
"You killed my husband?" Izzy whispered, her voice back to normal. She stared down at Chanyeol in shock. Objects had stopped flying around the room now.
"It was you who killed my husband?" Izzy asked, knowing that he couldn't hear him. She turned around and yelled at Lacey, "Ask him! Ask him if he was the one who really killed him!"
"Chanyeol, she wants to know if it really was you who killed him." Lacey said shakily.
Chanyeol nodded furiously, "Yes, it was all me, I'm sorry! I know you thought it was just a case of Spontaneous Human Combustion, but it wasn't! It was all me! When he tried to light that white stick up by using me, I got angry and... Blew up. He died because of me." He admitted. "All my fault, I'm so sorry."
Izzy blinked in disbelief at the man. She let out a scoff, but a small grin was appearing on her face.
Much to Lacey's shock, she disappeared.
"I don't think she was very fond of her husband," Lacey said, full of cereal and milk. "She just left when you admitted to killing him."
The clinking of metal utensils echoed in the dining room as Lacey and Luhan ate their food. The two of them were starving. Lacey had skipped breakfast and lunch while Luhan had missed just lunch. All of them were gathered into the dining room, waiting patiently for them to finish eating. Xiumin had taken it upon himself to give Chanyeol a slight punishment for the mess he had caused.
Chanyeol let out a visible breath as he shivered. He glared at the yeti in the corner of his eyes. Xiumin, who saw the heated glare, let out a snicker. "Glaring at me isn't going to make me stop. You deserve at least this."
Chanyeol sneered at his direction and looked over to Lacey. "You're right, she didn't like her husband. She hated him. Always suspected him for cheating and she was right."
Suho shook his head in disgust. "That's terrible of him. To break their marriage vow like that."
"That's not all. The woman he had an affair with, he had a child with her."
Lacey had frozen over, her spoon just inches away from her opened mouth. closed shut and she tried hard to block out the boys' gossip.
"Oh~" a familiar voice cooed in her ear. "Did that strike a nerve in you darlin'?" Izzy asked, a bitter smile on her face as she stared at Lacey's side view. Lacey stayed silent, her grip on the spoon tightening. If she had any super strength the spoon would've bent over at her force.
"…I stayed in his god damn pocket for weeks. I was always being used by that man. I hated being used, I just wanted to be left alone. I guess I just lost it, lost all my restraints and finally blew up on him. Literally." Chanyeol said.
"Then a whole bunch of uniformed men found me next to his charred corpse. Said he died from Spontaneous Human Combustion, whatever that was. Someone put me in the drawer and the next couple of weeks later, she opened the drawer and flipped up the lid..."
"As much as I hate him for killing me, I tolerate him for killing that bastard." Izzy whispered to Lacey.
Penny appeared on the other side of the human. "It's nice to see you all calm, you look better that way." She grinned cheekily.
Izzy scowled at the sight of her, "Ugh, it's you again."
Penny only snickered back at her. Lacey noted that these two were probably friends despite Izzy's 'hatred' for her.
As the two friends bickered on different sides of Lacey, her eight friends were still gossiping amongst themselves, unbeknownst to their savior's sudden silence.
"So, red head, I saw your reaction to my lil' story." Izzy said.
"Did you have a husband who cheated on you?" Penny asked.
Lacey shot her a horrified look. She shook her head sli
