After slaughtering the monsters with the Minotaur horn, Tao paled when he saw that the door was still closed shut and unwavering. Quickly, he headed up the stairs to meet up with them. Standing beside Lacey, he asked worriedly, "It's still not opening?"
"It's those damn witches. Damn it, when are they going to get tired? They must be running out of energy now." Luhan growled. He looked down the stairs to see the undead minotaur dead again. He didn't need to go downstairs to know that Tao finished the rest of them.
Still clutching the minotaur horn, Tao walked over to Lay. "Let me try," He said. Lay gladly moved over, allowing the man to try.
WHAM!
WHAM!
THUNK!
Tao sighed angrily. Slamming his free fist on the unbudging door, he muttered, "Where was Xiumin when you needed him?"
"L-Lacey! What are you doing?!" Luhan stammered, watching in horror as Lacey left the staircase and started to roam the basement.
Instead of answering his question, she asked them a question of her own. "Is there a keyhole?"
"What?" Tao whispered, snapping his head back to the door, he searched endlessly for a keyhole. Finally, after a couple seconds of silence, he finally found one at the very bottom of the door. But it was tiny, barely visible for anyone to see. Which meant the key would be small too.
"Yeah, but it's really small!" Tao called after her.
Well that just makes things better... Lacey thought sarcastically. She was on her knees, looking at the blood coated floor and searching for a tiny key. Her pajamas were now stained with dirt and dried blood as she crawled around the floor.
"We have to find that key..." Lay muttered, already walking down the stairs to help her out. Tao and Luhan followed behind.
Tao shuddered in disgust as he lifted a dead body of a monster, looking down at the spot where it once laid. After finding that there was no key under it, he allowed the body to drop harshly on the floor, making a sickening squish noise as more blood ozzed out of it.
Lay's face was etched into a grimace as he moved severed limbs out of his way. As he searched for the key he kept wondering why there were creatures here in the first place. When he was stuck in that music box, he never once saw a monster in the house.
But throughout the millennia he had been stuck in that antique room. He didn't know what had been going on in other parts of the house... Luhan searched the cages, unlocking them with his powers and removing the things that it contained. It was when he reached the cage that was next to his did he let out a gasp. It was not a thing that was inside of it. It was a who. He stared with wide eyes at the clothed skeleton that was trapped in the cell. He knew automatically that this person was once a living human. Maybe one of the past inhabitants of the house. He unlocked the cage without a second thought, using his powers to gently remove the skeleton out of the cage. The cage reeked of bowels, urine, and rotten intestines, and he felt immense pity for the man. He only hoped that the man wasn't alive when he was caged. The suffering was always the worst. "Is that a human?" He heard Lacey ask. He heard the quick thumps of her footsteps. She kneeled on the other side of the skeleton. "Oh my god... They trapped a person in here..." He didn't need to face her to know that she was close to crying. The choked voice told him everything. Lay and Tao stiffened when they heard what Lacey said. Stopping what they were doing, they both turned to face the other two. As Luhan stared in disbelief at the pile of bones in front of him, something caught his eye. In the pocket of teh button up the skeleton was wearing, he saw something bronze sticking out of it. Carefully, he picked it up. It was a key. "I think..." Luhan didn't have to finish his sentence. He stood up, but Lac
