BlazingMelody you're a real good guesser, you know that? I wish I had your great guessing skills because I would totally need it for school.
In all honesty, the mermaid—or merman—looked kind of dead. His long scaly tail wasn't even flopping around. It was shrilly and dry looking as it laid on her wooden floor motionlessly. The human part of him didn't look so good either. The man's pale skin was cracked and dried everywhere with white patches here and there. His lips needed more lip balm than Jongdae's and his hair was so shriveled and lifeless. His eyes were shut and his mouth slightly opened.
This merman was in desperate need of water.
Jongdae shot out of bed, "We need to put him in some water! It's been millennia!" He grabbed the the merman's arms and Lacey pulled up his legs—or tail. It wasn't even slimy and she could barely feel the scaly texture. His tail felt dry and crusty, and she was worried that it could crumble into dust if she held it too harshly.
"Come on, let's go to the bathroom." Lacey quickly shuffled out of her room and towards the closest bathroom.
She pulled down the plugger on the bathtub before they set the fish-man inside the tub.
"Uh, hot water or cold water?" She asked Jongdae.
"It doesn't matter!" He squeaked out. "Just give him water! Lots of it!"
"Ok, ok, ok!" She hastily turned the nob to a lukewarm temperature. Water filled the tub almost all the way to the rim. She stared down at the merman. Everything but his head was enveloped in water. The water reached up to his neck, dangerously close to his mouth.
"It's okay, he can breath under the water," Jongdae assured her as he gently adjusted the merman's position so he would be completely under the water.
"So..." She said, still staring down at the unconscious man. "What do we do now?" She asked.
"We wait." Jongdae answered simply, already cozying himself on the bathroom floor.
"Okay then," She said. She leaned her side against the bathtub, her legs outstretched in front of her.
Curiously, she stared at the man intently. The white patches had gotten smaller and less noticeable, but she was still able to see it through the eye. His tail was still the same, dry and almost colorless. The blue was pale and the scales had no shimmer to them. In the middle of his chest was his teardrop-like symbol.
I can't believe mermaids are real... Lacey was used to being mind-ed. Finding out that unicorns were real was mind-ing enough, but now mermaids? This completely got her mind blown.
What else is gonna come next? A demon? , if Baekhyun's an angel that means there's got to be a demon too. Oh come on, I'm not up for getting possessed—
Something glittery caught her eye. She looked back down at the bathtub and saw that his tail was a deep oceanic blue and was glimmering under the water.
Woah... His tail is as sparkly as Edward Cullen...
She shook her head from the weird thoughts and continued to be in awe at the view in front her. The merman's tail was definitely a sight to behold. It had gotten larger now from soaking in the water. The tail was large, the two fins were now laid against the bathroom wall. There was also another fish fin behind him, it was razor sharp and she was still unable to see it.
"I think he's well," She told Jongdae, still keeping her eyes on the tail.
"Yeah, he's awake." Jongdae's statement had startled her a bit. She whipped her head towards the merman's face.
Wide brown eyes stared up in the ceiling in nothing, but shock.
Slowly, he raised the upper part of his body, his chest and face breaking through the surface of the water. He didn't even gasp for breath once he was out from under. He looked around the room. Seeing Jongdae only made him more shocked. His head turned towards Lacey.
"I... You found me in that room..." He trailed off. Even though his body was once a dried up mess, his voice sounded stronger than expected.
"Yeah, that's the study room. I'm really sorry for losing you, I-I didn't know that you were in that necklace—" Lacey stammered nervously.
He raised a hand to
