As the group continued their journey, Qian and Nichkhun explained what had happened to the two of them.

“When we were 15 Nichkhun and I were inseparable. I would spend all day with him and talk for a good portion of the night. My parents thought it wouldn’t be good for me to spend all day with a ‘commoner.’” Victoria explained.

“Wait, wait, wait a commoner?” Nichkhun asked in confusion.

“Apparently my family was from a noble line that was close to the royal family. Spending all day with a commoner would have meant that the other nobles wouldn’t have wanted me married into their families,” Victoria shrugged “No offence Nichkhun but to them you were a commoner. So when I turned 17 they found me a ‘suitable’ partner.”

“How did you end up here?” Taeyeon asked curiously.

“I ran away from my ‘fiancé’s’ home,” She made quotation marks in the air “He sent henchman after me. All he wanted was my fortune and Song family tradition states that it passes to the eldest child which is me. But since we’re not married he doesn’t get anything. So I came here; the one place I know he would never look.”

“How long have you been living here?” Tiffany asked.

“Nearly 2 years now. It’s not been too hard but I don’t feel safe going out there.” Qian said sadly. Nichkhun held her hand and squeezed it lightly.

“Don’t worry; I’m not going to let anyone take you from me now that I’ve found you again.” He muttered. Qian smiled gratefully at him before turning to the others.

“Why do you guys need to find the Flower of Light?” She asked curiously.

“Tiffany’s life depends on it.” Minho answered bluntly.

“What do you mean?” Qian asked in confusion. Tiffany sighed and said:

“It’s a very long story. Basically the elements inside me are fighting for control and if I don’t find a way to subdue them they will eventually kill me.” Qian’s eyes widened in shock.

“How many elemental powers do you have?” She asked.

“Five. Fire, water, wind, ice and snow.” Tiffany replied.

“I can’t believe it. I’ve heard of people being born with two and in extremely rare cases three powers but five? It is unheard of. This is incredible.” Qian breathed.

“It would be if they weren’t killing her.” Siwon snapped angrily. Qian turned to him and her eyes suddenly went glassy.

“You care for someone very deeply Choi Siwon. You will have a long journey to be together but if you stay by each other’s side it will be worth it,” Her eyes turned back to normal and she shook her head “I hate it when that happens. I can’t even control it.” She rubbed her head. The rest of the group was looking at her in confusion.
