Chapter 9
You've Fallen for a Bad Guy
Niel saw L. Joe looking up on him; he felt like traitor and then turned his back to look at C.A.P.
"I'm sorry CAP, but I can't do it." He said.
"Why not?" C.A.P. demanded.
"What do you mean by that? You should know he's my best friend. I can never hurt him."
"You'll get punished if you don't." C.A.P. reminded him.
"I know. And I don't care anymore." Niel said and took the riffle with him and walked away. C.A.P. took one last glance at L. Joe who kept glaring at him.

After taking Nana home, L. Joe decided to go home and talk about what he just saw.
He went to his father's office talking with him in a very unpleasant tone.
"Where's Niel?" L. Joe asked Tae Suk.
"Oh," Tae Suk looked at him and sits firmly. "So you're still alive."
"What do you mean? He was trying to kill me?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
"Father! Did you order him to do that?!"
"Yes."
"What?" L. Joe couldn't believe what he was hearing. He wishes nothing of this is really happening, that he's actually living a normal life. His voice cracked when he talked. "How could you?! Why?'
"Because you won't kill that girl. L. Joe, are you this coward? If you keep us waiting, who knows you might fall in love to that girl?!"
"I don't want to kill her." There, I said it, he thought and closed his eyes and take a deep breath. "I don't want to kill her." He repeated and opened his eyes.
"Why? Because you like her?" Tae Suk asked in a gravelly voice.
"No... It's not like that; it's just that she makes me want to be different!"
"You want to be different?"
I've said it, no taking back, it's the truth, but I don't think I have a way out of this game, L. Joe said on his mind.
"Yes." L. Joe replied. "I don't want to continue like this Father. Even though Nana is not telling me to be different, or to stop killing, I feel like it. I mean, this is the best feeling that I've ever had Father. A feeling that I want to be free, a feeling that I want to be a normal ordinary person, forget all the bad things I had done ---" Tae Suk cut in and tapped his hand on his table. He showed a brown envelope to L. Joe and handed it to him.
"Open this," Tae Suk said. "And when the time you're finish reading it, don't think twice anymore. Jang Nana must die."
"Father---" Tae Suk cut in again.
"Just do as I said!" Tae Suk yelled at him and L. Joe obeyed. He opened the brown envelope and saw Jang Nana's profile. He was puzzled and then took a bunch of pictures from the envelope. A man, with a woman and then Nana in the middle of them.
"Turn it back," Tae Suk told him.
L. Joe did as he said and turned the picture around. At the back of it, he saw their names. Jang Nana, Jang Seyoung and Jang SooMan.
Jang Soo Man. L. Joe thought. That name is very familiar, a familiar name his father had always mention, SooMan...
L. Joe looked at Nana's profile again ... He looked at the occupation of her father... A former leader of a province.
"That man... He was the leader of the tradition of burying babies alive if their parents are gone." Tae Suk blurted out. "He is the best friend of your real father. He ordered everyone to bury you alive when your mother passed away. He is the father of Jang Nana. That means... You killed the wrong person, Lee Byung Hun. Jang Nana must die."
Jang Nana must die...
The words kept running on his mind.
