Chapter 23
You've Fallen for a Bad GuyIt was too late. His father's dying and the last thing he received from his father was a smile before his father stopped breathing. L. Joe's tear was nonstop as he closed his father's eyes and screamed with a huge pain in his heart.
He heard the sirens coming, he knew he had to leave before the police accuse him. He took one last glance at the dead bodies. He felt sorry and wanted revenge. His eyes were filled with darkness like never before.
He stood up and put back his gun inside his coat's pocket. He turned away and stared at the clear window. He opened it and jumped out the window, and then he disappeared in a glimpse. The police caught no one but the dead bodies.
Meanwhile, Nana went straight to her home after Chunji brought her home from school without saying anything, their atmosphere was still awkward. Nana waved Chunji 'goodbye' but Chunji only ignored her although he wanted to hug her so much; his heart breaks every time he sees her.
"I'm sorry," Nana said behind and Chunji stopped walking.
"For what?" Chunji asked, pretending that nothing happened, like he never appeared in front of her yesterday.
"For... Everything," Nana replied and smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow, Chunji-ah. Take care." She said and went inside her home.
The lights were off when she was inside, she turned them on and called for her mother but no one answered. She suddenly heard some noise that came from her parent’s room.
She slowly walked towards the door and opened it. The moment she stepped inside, she saw her father holding a gun while wiping blood with a blanket.
"Appa!" She called and her father stared at her in surprise. "What's that?" She asked curiously.
"Oh, this?" Sooman chuckled and sighed. "I almost caught a bird today," he lied, "its blood spilled in my gun when I shoot at it."
"What?" Nana asked worriedly, "but it's a bird, you didn't need to do it to a bird. Well, what happened to the bird? Is it dead?"
"Maybe. Maybe not," Sooman replied and turned back to his gun. "It continued flying away." He added.
She smiled. "I hope that bird is fine now," she said, "next time, don't kill them. Okay?" They both shared a laugh together as Nana sat beside her father on the bed.
After dinner, Nana received a call from an unknown number.
"Yoboseyo?" Nana asked on phone, wondering who it was.
"I'm L. Joe's friend," a deep voice said. She doesn't know him but it's Niel.
"Oh," She said and waited for Niel to continue.
"He wants to meet you," Niel began, "I'll give you the address of the apartment."
Nana eventually lied to her parents that she's going to visit her sick friend but the truth is she will be meeting L. Joe. The address given to her was Niel's address; L. Joe is also staying there for the mean time. She was nervous as she waited for the taxi to arrive in the address she gave him.

Nana knocked on the door and before she could knock for the second time, Niel opened it for her. Nana was startled to see someone else.
"Omo!" She exclaimed.
Niel smiled at her wryly. "I'm his friend. He went out for a while and will be back in a moment, is it okay if you to wait inside?" Niel asked her and motioned for her to come inside. She nodded and stepped in. "Please sit," Niel gestured for her to sit on the couch. "I'll go tell L. Joe you're here," he added while ruffling his hair.
"Wait," Nana looked at Niel and he looked back. "Is he going to scold me again?" She asked.
"I don’t really know," Niel replied, "he only told me he wanted to meet you." He smiled again and went out of the room. Nana blew out a sigh at sat down the couch. She looked around and then stood up again to roam inside the apartment. She saw Niel's picture with L. Joe and some other guys she had seen before but she wasn't quite sure.
She slowly went at the edge of a table and saw her picture lying there. She was surprise to see her own picture there, but what surprised her more is the big red marked "X" in her picture.
"What's this?" She asked in a whisper.
Suddenly, the lights turned off. She was startled that it suddenly turned off; she turned around and saw someone coming towards her.
L. Joe.
"You came," L. Joe said in a cold voice. It scared Nana. "I never thought you'd actually come." He smirked.
Nana wanted to step back because she was so scared but she didn't. The "X" mark in her picture surely means nothing, she only wanted to see L. Joe and she wanted him to want to see her too.
When he got closer to her, he suddenly strangled her. He grasped with his manly hands, leaving her breathless. Gasp escaped from Nana's throat as she stared at L. Joe in disbelief, L. Joe's eyes were angry.
"Do you have any idea what your father did to my father? He killed my father and his family!!!" L. Joe yelled at her. She couldn't believe what he was saying, she wanted to say something, tell him she has no idea and to let her go, but she couldn't. "I haven't even had the chance to be with my real father yet your father killed him without mercy! You knew he was going to do that, right??!! Right??!! That's why... I'll kill you. I'll kill you in my own hands and then I'll kill your father and your mother!!! I swear to God you'll die, Nana-shi."
