Chapter 5
You've Fallen for a Bad Guy
"I will kill you all!" L. Joe yelled. Nana's friends eyed her suspiciously.
Nana stammered an apology. "Sorry guys, my boyfriend always lie when he's drunk..." She faked a smile and looped her arms around L. Joe's. "I think we should leave since drunken people are SO not allowed here." She looked at everyone who was eyeing her suspiciously while L. Joe raised his eyebrows devilishly. Nana sighed and bowed at them all. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience everyone." She apologized and walked out of the Restaurant Bar together with L. Joe.
Nana was so mad and wanted to leave L. Joe in the streets but she just couldn't. Even to a killer, she has compassion.
"Where do you live? I'll call a taxi for you." Nana suggested but she only received a big "NO" from L. Joe. Suddenly, L. Joe began vomiting so Nana let him go. Nana wanted to puke too after smelling the disgusting smell of his vomit.
"I'll buy a tissue for you," Nana said and turned around to come inside a store.
"I WILL KILL YOU!!!" L. Joe yelled at her and Nana suddenly stopped and looked back at L. Joe.
"YA! I'm trying to help you here!" Nana yelled back.
L. Joe smirked and sat on the ground.
"YA! What are you doing?!" Nana yelled again.
"I'm sleepy. I want to sleep." L. Joe said in a sleepy tone and then yawned. "I'll kill you later okay?"
Nana glared down at him and then turned around. She really wanted to leave him and even tried. She continued walking alone, leaving L. Joe closing his eyes while sitting on the ground of the streets.
After crossing the road, she stopped for a few steps and looked back at L. Joe.
She felt compassion for him, for herself and for Ji Hae. She shouldn't help the killer of her best friend but somehow her feet just couldn't stop.

Nana had brought L. Joe to her house. She is living alone there so she got no problem with visitors, besides she didn't know where the strange L. Joe lives and she in fact, doesn't want to know at all.
She scooped him gently into her arms and laid him down her bed. She pulled herself away but L. Joe pulled her closer to him, their noses almost touching. Nana tried to get away while she was complaining but instead L. Joe hugged her, making her surprise and stunned.
"Tell me," L. Joe whispered while his eyes closed, "what's so different about you? I want to kill you, but why can't I? What are you, Jang Nana?" He sounded like complaining as he was hugging her tightly. "Have I... seen you somewhere?"
When L. Joe mentioned that, Nana began to recall something from her past. When she played with a boy of her age, when she befriends him, played with him, and became such an idiot about that boy. Now that she's gotten older and mature, she can still recall the boy's face... when he was just young and even played with her, and until they met again when she saw the same boy... Killing her older brother.
She had hatred over that boy, she still has and she will never forgive him. She wouldn't forgive L. Joe either, she hates him, because he's a killer. But she never noticed what's so similar about that boy in her past and the L. Joe she knows. All she knows is that ... she doesn't want to see more people die.
"Ya... tell me." L. Joe whispered again. He is still drunk; he doesn't even know where he is. "Do you want me to call father? He's just right into his office!" He yelled. This time, Nana pushed him hard as she pulled herself away from him.
"Don't you like what happened tonight? I held your hand, I hugged you. Usually girls are overjoyed when I did that to them, this is supposed to be a night to remember but..." he opened his eyes. "Look, your eyes are different. Full of darkness. You're mad of me. Just like me... I'm mad at you, for some reason that I don't want to kill you." After a moment of silence, he suddenly laughed. It took a minute when he finally shut down and fell asleep.
Nana went out of her room but didn't close the door. Shortly, she came back...
She came back with a knife on her hand.
She walked closer and closer into her bed.
She pointed the knife at L. Joe.
Raised the knife in front of his chest.
She closed her eyes and thought, I'm going to be a killer if I kill this guy, but he killed my best friend so he deserves it... I will so honored if I kill Lee Byung Hun... This will really be a night to remember, you murderer.
Suddenly, she heard the lightning strikes. She did not shriek or shout, she's not afraid of them but she threw the knife on the floor when she heard the lightning. Because she thinks it's a sign not to kill that man.
"I can't..." she whispered to herself.

7 am in the morning.
Nana was already ready to go to school. She prepared breakfast for her and for the killer. She doesn't mind, she'll wake him up later.
Meanwhile, in her room, L. Joe had woken up. He yawned and raised his arms and stretched them together. He opened his eyes and smiled to see the sunshine on him.
"Oh, I'm home..." he said and sits up on Nana's bed. He noticed that it was not his room, the door was open and that's not his door either. His eyes turned wide and his mouth dropped. "Wait, whose home is this?"
Nana stepped in with her arms crossed. "You don't remember?" She asked as if challenging him.
"What? What do you mean?" L. Joe gasped and pointed at her. "Did you and I, by chance... something happened?" He asked. Nana's eyes widened in disgust.
