Chapter 9
Now You See ItThat afternoon Key drove me to the airport.fuuh i’ll be leaving this city soon.and back to my daily life in Korea.we didn’t talk much on the way.but when we arrive and when i’m about to go in he finally say something
“Hey Am..you know the thing that i said last night?”
I don’t even sure which one but i just smile and nodded
“So..we’re back being friends or what?I know usually the girl ask this kind of the question.but i don’t know..it’s just you’re different.I don’t even know where I find the guts to ask you this”
“Key..honestly I still have no idea.but you know that I care about youi’m comfortable being with you.it’s just can you give me some time?” I asked him
“Yeah..sure.i’m not forcing it.”
And then I just hug him tightly and kiss his lips once again before I leave
“I’ll wait for you in Korea and at the time we meet later,I’ll give you the answer”
“Alright..i’ll be there soon”
After a long flight again,I’m finally step on Korea again.aaah we’ll I guess I miss this city.I’m looking at the left and right repeatedly before I spotted the short black haired girl Luna.well I guess she didn’t notice that I’m already back.I just quietly walking towards her and screaming her name behind her ear...
“Lunaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i’m baaaaaaaaccccckkk..”
“Holy !Oh God Amber..you’ll make me die from sudden heart attack” She said while holding her chest
I just made a grin on my face “Well it’s your fault.don’t you know what time it is?and why the hell are you standing here?Are you waiting for someone?”
“I’m sorry.i didn’t look at my watch..but no i’m waiting for someone”
“Ohh..okay.let’s go home now.”
And right when I’m pulling my suitcase a bunch of girls came and screaming behind my back
“Welcome baaaaaaccck Ambeeeer” All of them yell in unison.here they are Vic.Krystal.and Sulli
“Oh my God what are you guys doing here?” I asked while hugging them
“It’s holidaaay season Am.we miss home plus we’re to suprise you dummy” said Sulli
“Huh?it’s already start?I didn’t realize it”
“Of course you don’t dummy.you were in Hongkong” Krystal answered
“Ah right.it could be the cause”
“Sooo..how is Hongkong Am?Is it fun?” Vic asked me
“Hey guys take it easy okay,what if we find a place and sit to listen Amber story?right?” Asked Luna
“Fuuhh you’re right Lunaaa.i need coffee”
And then we go the nearest coffee shop.and it looks like i need to spoil everything to them.anything that happen recently and when i’m in Hongkong.i miss a few good story from them.like Vic who recently start her modelling career and that’s when she met her boyfriend right now named Changmin,Krystal who met a guy named Jongin or Kai,that he usually called and it turned out they’re in the same college,and then Sulli who recently fell in love with photography and he’s getting close with her the football player named Minho.
After I listen their story one by one,so this is means I need to tell them my story.haah actually i don’t really want to tell them about Key since there’s nothing serious between us.i mean not yet.i haven’t think about it..but fine i’ll them about him about it
“So..do you meet some hot guy in Hongkong?” asked Krystal
“Well..I do actually..”
“That guy must have a name right?” then Luna asked
“Yeah.his name his Key.or Kibum.he’s also korean.i met him when i was drinking alone at the bar hotel”
“Sounds like a scene from movies to me haha” Sulli’s laugh at my explaination
“That’s the first time i met him”
“You know what?you seems like a lonely and desperate girl drinking on your own like that” added Vic
“I know..and then the next day,i met him again.i suppose to deliver a document to a company,and it turned out he works in that company.”
“Let me guess..because of that you guys become close?”asked Krystal
“Well yeah..then we become close.”
“Sooo...?” and now it’s Vic again
“So what?” I asked back
“Don’t you get it?so what’s next?are you guys dating or something?”
“No..we’re not Luna.i mean i don’t know that for sure”
“Huh?what do you mean?oh come on Am,it seems like he like you.you’re not playing with his feeling right?” said Krystal.
“No..of course not i admit i find attractive and i’m comfortable being around him..but after having with him i’m getting confused,are we still being friends or something serious than that”
“YOU...WHAT?” Nice.they all yelling at the time.it’s enough to make me deaf and people staring at us.
“Don’t tell me you guys haven’t doing it ?” I asked each of them
“I haven’t did it “ Said Vic
“Me too..I told him to wait until i’m ready” added Sulli
“Me neither.but it’s almost happen once” said Krystal
“Well then actually I did” admit Luna
“See?no need to shocked like that.he gave me time to think about it.He asked me like he’s understand if i don’t want a serious relationship between us”
“Maybe it’s because the way you act about it or maybe because you guys are bestfriends but ing each other like there’s no boundaries” Luna explain
“Maybe.but you guys know I’ve been through.what if he’s playing with me?or what if i’m the only one that like him?” i started getting panic
“We know that Am.but just think about it wiselywhat if he really like you?or what if he’s the right guy?”
And then they all start looking at me worriedly.and i know that looks mean very well.I take a deep breath
“Okay..i’ll think about it.stop worrying me” I said with smile
“So how’s everybody doing?like Luhan or Lay or Jessica maybe?” I asked them
But hearing my questions their face expressions start to change drastically.their faces start getting stiff and a little panic
“Well their all doing fine Am” said Sulli
“Ohh I see” and I keep drink my coffee
And we keep talking about how we miss the old times.I missed that too.except the thing that happen between me and Kris.It was painful.i don’t think i can get through it again.I mean i won’t make it.
I spend my holiday with my mom.well yeah i’m home now.it’s been a while.my room is still the same.nothings change.I keep in touch with Key.he still busy with his work,so he still didn’t get the time to come here.and i’m still confuse what am i suppose to say to him?i know i find him attractive,kind,caring,but what if it will be the same just like Kris case before?or what if its even worst than that?my fear hasn’t disappear yet.it makes me traumatized.one day Luna asking me to hangout with Luhan and Lay.I was at the porch waiting for them to pick me up.but then i saw a silver car coming.it knew it wasnt Luna,Luhan or Lay car......it was Kris’s
I was speechless,my body went frozen suddenly until the car stop in front me and Luna open the door for me.it takes a few minutes for me to back to my senses.nobody told me that he’s going with us.what’s wrong with these people?I tried to whisper to Luna so both of these guys won’t hear us
“What the is going on?you didn’t told me that he’s going with us”
“I have no idea.Luhan didn’t say anything to me either.all i know when Luhan coming,Kris already with him”
Of course it’s must be Luhan.what the hell is he trying to do?we didn’t talk to each other for years and then suddenly we met like this?there’s no way this is a pure coincidence.it seems like i’ll be stuck with him for a couple hours.i didn’t talk much unless they ask me about something.then we arrived at the theather we’re going to watch movie again.I asked Luna to waiting in line to buy the ticket with Kris while I pull Luhan arms away
“Seriously?what the hell is this?you didn’t tell me he’s joining with us”
“I know..I know it’s my fault that i didn’t tell you earlier.but the reason I bring him here is to fix your relationship”
“Whaat?But....”
“Amber..it’s been a couple years Am..just let it go.you both can stay like this forever right?don’t be a chilidish.at least you can talk to him as a friend.just forget everything that happen in the past”
I know that he has a point too.but it’s still not easy for me.what am i suppose to say to him?Oh god...after remain quiet for a while I take a deep sigh as a sign of giving up
“Alright alright..i’ll try it. And then Luhan start to smile in satisfaction
And then as expected,it’s not easy.I don’t know how to start conversation with him.so I keep quiet during the film,when we eat and when I’m home it was only me,Kris and Luhan in the car.it will be rude if i didn’t say anything to him i just said..
“I go home first.thank you Kris”
That’s all i said and he all he did was smiling at me.Maybe because of that we often go out together.just like this time,it was supposed to be four of us but Luna can’t join us since she’s busy with her midterm test.so it will be me,Luhan and Kris.well I don’t really mind since i’m getting used to it.we went to the restaurant first to grab a lunch,I was sitting facing both of them.while we’re waiting our order someone called me.and it was Key..without realizing it smile formed on my face
“Hey..how are you doing Am?” I can hear his voice Key
“Hey Key..oh my God.I’m fine.how about you?it’s been a while”
“Yeah..i know i’m doing fine too..and still busy with work”
“Haha.I know how busy you are”
“So..how’s Korea?is it good to be back home?”he asked
“Yeah it’s good.but i miss the night view of Hongkong you know”
“Really?haha..by the way i missed you Am”
“I know..I feel the same way too”
“And..i’ll see you in January Am..”
“Really?haha..okaay i’ll be waiting,see you soon Key”
“Yeah..of course.okay i’ll be there soon”
After I hung up the phone their eyes glued to me.and Luhan ask who just called me
“Who was it Am?”
“Ah..he’s just a friend that i met in Hongkong last month”
And then suddenly this quiet guy start talking to me for the first time in a couple years
“What?Hongkong?have you been there Am?” Kris suddenly asked
“Yeah..i went there for my fieldwork practice for a few months”
“Whoaa,what a nice place for fieldwork practice”
“How’s the city?is it nice?”
“Well yeah..it’s nice and beautiful”
“Whaah..I really really want to visit that city”
“Well you can visit that city sometimes.with Luhan”
“Yeah dude with me and we can see a lot of beautiful ladies in there haha” said Luhan
“You see Am?this guys seriously need a new hobby” said Kris
“Yeah.he does.for sure”
Well maybe something never change just like what I thought.and so does he.I didn’t see a lot of things changing on him.I guess this is the time to let go everything in the past.even though i’m still don’t know if I hae feelings left for Kris.but it’s to move on and fix everything broken..
