It had to be her. There was no way this was co-incidence. The same height, the same face, the same smile...

It was not until the girl had already crossed the road that Changmin regained his composure and sprinted after the girl. Not an easy task. He had to criss-cross between the heavy traffic and if not for her unique red coat he would've lost her to the crowd.

He ran as fast as his long legs would permit until he was just a step behind her. He was too nervous to aproach her. He didn't know why but he couldn't bring himself to call her attention let alone ask her if she was his 'midnight maiden'.

And so Changmin followed her. Walking in her foot steps as she gracefully and soundlessly stepped towards her destination. The heels of her stilletoes didn't clink noisily like the other women. They were all walking on the same cold hard pavement yet she seemed different. Almost as though she were gliding a hair's length of the ground. Even the air around her seemed to spark with a beautiful electrical energy that sent little sparks up through his fingertips to his heart.

His heart thumped like a crazy drum at a tribal ritual. When all of a sudden the girl stopped making Changmin use all his might to not bump right into her.

Her hair...

He couldn't help but notice her hair. It shone like a million tiny shards of diamonds. A wave of them that rippled down her back, straight and sleek...

His heart beat must have accelerated about 10,000 times!

" Ahjusshi! " snapped the girl suddenly flipping her hair back and turning towards him.

It was her...

Changmin couldn't help but feel elated.

" It's you! " cried out Changmin.

" Ajusshi~ " yelled the girl snappishly before gaping at him with an open mouth. " Ch- Ch- Ch- "

" Huh? " asked Changmin cluelessly.

" Changmin? " she gasped softly. " OMG! Dong Bang Shin Ki's Max Changmin! OMG OMG OMG! "

" You know my name? " asked the young boy feeling a bit confused.

His 'midnight maiden' definitely did NOT know his name. Oh wait, she'd called him 'Min-min'... But then why was she so clueless and acting like she'd never met him before? She was acting like a... typical fan girl. The squealing, the hyperventilation, the sudden hyper activity. Typical.

But his maiden... she was anything but typical. She was quiet, innocent, happy, thoughtful, childish... almost upto a degree that she seemed rather... fairy like?

Again his superstitious other worldly part-belief kicked in. Was she a fairy then?

Nah, she was human! She was standing right there infront of him!

She did seem to glow, but maybe it was just her 'beauty'.

Perhaps he'd approached the wrong girl? No way! There was no way any other person could look exactly the same... right?

During the time that Changmin spent pondering over the various tid-bits of information his brain was processing, the girl he'd approached had slumped over and fallen on him making him stumble a bit, but he caught her nonetheless.

" Hey? Hey? Excuse me. Miss? Miss, are you alright? "

He shook her but her head just lolled to the side. Mouth open, eyes closed... Unresponsive. Unconscious.

" Miss? Miss? " cried out Changmin, raising his voice with each repetition of the word.

A crowd gathered around him. Loud and panicky as they were they did not make an attempt to help.

" Someone call an ambulance! " he yelled desperately.

AT THE HOSPITAL

Changmin sat silently beside the girl's bed. The hospital smelt clean. Yet, it made him feel nauseous.

He toyed with her purse before flipping it open for the hundreth time that hour...
