Chapter 41

It was the day of love & laughter for the couple after suffering for so long. The wedding took place in a Cathedral at downtown. Yuri wanted to get married in a lovely chapel outside the city. It sat at the end of a winding track atop a gentle hill. However, Yunho cut her off as he said that he was the only son of his family & his parents had a lot of guests that couldn’t get into the chapel in one time. They needed the biggest church in Korea.

Yunho was standing nervously in his room in the Jung mansion. He glanced at his bulova stainless steel watch again, “Where is Jae? He drives me crazy with his lateness.” He said to himself. Although it was still in the morning, he was impatient. The wedding itself would be held in the afternoon. However, he needed someone to talk to ease his nervousness. His parents were busy with themselves & believed that he could handle himself. Jaejoong was his best man. He should be here by now to do his job.

Hearing the knocked on his door, he smiled. Finally his lazy best man came. He wanted to scold Jaejoong for his carelessness. He told him clearly last night that he should be here at eight. Now, it was twelve o’clock already. With a smiling face, he strode across to open the door.

“Yeonnie.” He stepped back in surprises.

Jiyeon smiled prettily. With her gorgeous white wide scoop neckline ralph lauren sleeveless a-line pointelle-knit flare dress, she looked perfect like an angel. He stared at her dreamily.

“May I come in? I know it’s bad luck to see your bride before the ceremony but it doesn’t apply for me, right?” She gave him her attractive laugh.

Yunho was brought back from his daydreaming & smiled, “Of course not. Please come in.” He said softly.

“I’m expecting Jae. He’s late as usual.”

However, to his surprises, she stood on her tiptoes to claim his lips. He was shocked, “Yeonnie.” He put his arms on her arms to move her back.

“Sorry, I just want to congratulate you.”

“Thank you.”

He watched as Jiyeon sat on his bed, crossing her legs in an elegant gesture. He felt like she was acting awkward but didn’t say a word.

She stared at him with loving gaze & her eyes spotted his blue ebags TLS 22” expandable carry-on luggage standing ready by the door, “Are you going to your honeymoon straight away after the wedding?”

“Yes. After the wedding party tonight, Yuri & I will depart to London. Would you like some drink, Yeonnie?” He asked politely, while opening his personal fridge in his room.

“Something strong that could make me forget you.” She replied dreamily.

Yunho frowned. He let out a big sigh. He looked at her & closed his eyes, “Yeonnie, I don’t want to talk about it anymore. Today is my wedding day & I…”

“Okay. Okay. I won’t talk about you anymore. I just want to talk about what happened in Taiwan one week ago.” She said gently. Her eyes were soft.

Yunho shook his head secretly before replying carefully, “I don’t think it’s the right time to talk about business. You should talk to Yuri as she’s the one in charge now.”

“You know very well what I’m talking about! It’s not about business & you know it, damn it!” She raised her voice, her eyes flashing with fire.

“Look Yeonnie, if you are trying to…”

“This is the only time I can talk to you about it. After this afternoon ceremony, you’ll be getting married & what about me? About us?” She said huskily. A single tear dropped from her lovely eyes.

Yunho frowned & closed his eyes again. He really didn’t know what to say.

“Have you told Yuri what happened between us in Taiwan?”

“Why should I? It’s only a mistake. I don’t see any advantages of telling her rather than making our relationship worst.”

Jiyeon smiled in sarcasm & then finished her drink. With anger, sadness & disappointment in her eyes, she got up & pointed her tiny index finger to Yunho’s chest, “I didn’t know you’re such a coward, Jung Yunho.”

He frowned again, “What? Listen, it was the moment when we didn’t think straight. You were thrilled because our business was going smoothly & you threw your arms around me & then kissed me…”

“You kissed me back, too.” She cut his words off firmly.

“What?” He sighed deeply again, & shook his head in disbelief, “Stop it, Yeonnie.” His voice was firm & more than a little angry now. He glared at her, “I don’t want to talk about rubbish things today. I’m getting married in a few hours & I don’t need this hassle thing poisoning my mind.” His eyes were staring intensely. The knock on the door startled them back from the argument. Yunho turned his angry face to the door. He moved away from her to open it.

Jaejoong was outside. He grinned & said, with a pleading look, “Sorry buddy. It’s the traffic.” He paused when he saw Yunho’s red face, “Are you okay, Yun?”

He saw that Yunho didn’t answer as he was pressing down his anger. Yunho’s eyes were narrowed. Jaejoong knew must have gone wrong, ‘What happened?’ He asked himself in puzzlement. However, when he saw Jiyeon sitting on his bed & a stain of pink lipstick on Yunho’s lips, he could guess the answer.

Yuri let out a big sigh for the hundredth times already. Her heart was beating erratically. In three hours, she would marry Yunho, “Do I look okay, Mimi?”

Youngmi giggled from behind her back, “You look fabulous, Yuri. You’re the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen.”

“Thank you. You look lovely, too.” Yuri said, while looking at her sister. Youngmi did look lovely in her pink a-line/princess strapless knee-length taffeta maid of honor dress with a red sash bow(s), “Yuri, are you ready?! We have to go now otherwise we’ll be late. Your limo is waiting for you outside!” Yuri’s mother shouted nervously, from outside the room.

“Coming, mom!” She shouted back, “My god, mom is more nervous than me.” Yuri giggled together with Mimi. Then her face turned to be serious again. She took her sister’s hand & said softly, “I’m scared to death, Mimi.” “Don’t be. You love him & he loves you. Nothing can come in between you two in such a deep love that you share.”

“I hope so & I always pray for it.” Yuri replied softly, “But some people said that getting married is liked gambling. You could win or lose.” She reached her sister & they were hugging together for a moment, “Thank you, Mimi. I realize you’re a young woman now, not a little spoiled girl anymore.”

Mimi hit her sister playfully, “I have been turned into a young woman a long time ago! Only Oppa treats me the way I am!” She protested in a teasing tone.

“That’s true.” Yuri laughed.

“Yuri, I’m so happy to have him as my brother-in-law. I’m so glad that you’re going to have someone in your life who loves you deeply. He’s such a great man. You are the luckiest woman on earth to be marrying him. I envy you.” Mimi said, the last words jokingly.

“Thank you.” Yuri reached out to embrace her sister again, & for a while, they stood locked in each other’s arms.

Breaking away from their hug, Yuri looked at her image in the mirror again, making sure that she looked perfect. She touched her white ball gown strapless, sweetheart tulle lace wedding dress. Until now, she couldn’t believe that today was her wedding day. In three hours time, she would have a new name, Jung Yuri.

“Yuri.” The sound of her impatient mother jolted her from her daydream.

“Yes, I’m coming now.” She quickly went downstairs with Youngmi.

There was a beautiful bridal march. There was a pacing groom waiting impatiently for his fiance to walk down the aisle & there were pretty bridesmaids wearing pink empire one-shoulder floor-length chiffon bridesmaid dress with ruffle & carrying bouquets of hot pink roses, adorned with trendy stems of baby’s breath & italian ruscus. The church was gorgeous. It was built from stone, blessed with wonderful stained-glass window. The atmosphere was superb. It was set with only one color. White. It was the color that Yuri always dreamed of since she was a teenager, ‘Marry in white’. Five thousand guests had already gathered at the lovely cathedral of Korea. They all were impatient too, for the famous couple to say I do.

The smiling beautiful bride came down the aisle with her father. Astonishing Kwon Yuri with her stunning bridal look. She looked gorgeous with the sterling silver olive leaf earrings, engagement ring, Yunho’s heart-shaped necklace & a pearl bracelet, she looked more than gorgeous than every bride in the world. Her hair was tied gracefully into a ballerina bun with hot pink & white roses adorned around the bun. She was holding a bouquet that matches the bridesmaid.

The atmosphere was superb, full of romantic ts. The guests & families could feel the romantic touch. They saw the bride as a beautiful, stunning creature, shy yet mysterious behind her two tier 27” rolled satin edge veil. They saw the groom as demeanor, handsome & splendidly attired in his costello & sons wool white slim fit tuxedo. The ceremony was something beautiful & sacred as the couple would exchange their vows.

One of the lady said softly, “She looks fabulous & really classy.” Then she turned her gaze to the groom at the altar.

“They both looked nervous.” Another guest commented, “But she looks just like a princess.”

“Is that little boy really their son? I’ve never heard that Jung Yunho had courted this girl before.” She whispered again.

“I thought that he would be marrying that famous model, Park Jiyeon. I saw their pictures in the magazine during these past two years but that little boy is surely his son. Look at his face. He’s liked a mirror of his father.” Her friend whispered back.

A little boy wearing the same white tuxedo as his father was grinning & clapping his hands loudly on the first row. He was in his grandmother’s lap. When the music started playing, he stood up on the chair & turned his head to the aisle where everybody was looking at.

“Mommy!” He screamed in delight, when he found a familiar face walking down the aisle behind the veil. He was jumping up & down on his chair & was ready to run to her.

Everybody was laughing at the cute little boy’s mischievousness act.

Yunho chuckled, looking at his mischievous son. He sighed in happiness. It made his tension nerves relaxed for a while. He winked at Yuri who was blushing in embarrassment behind her veil.

“Shhh. Chunghee. Stay calm, will you?” Mrs. Jung whispered into her beloved grandson’s ear.

“Mommy! It’s mommy! Mommy!” He shouted again.

“Yes, it’s mommy. Look, mommy is coming.” Mrs. Jung whispered, trying to make her grandson calm down, “Daddy, it’s mommy! It’s mommy!” He screamed again, with all the breaths in his lungs to his father. His tiny finger pointed at the bride & then he turned to looked at his father again, signaling to recognize the beautiful girl behind the veil was his mother. Most of the guests laughed again, watching his cuteness.

Yunho’s face reddened. He nodded his head several times & smiled at his son. He put his index finger to his lips, signaling Chunghee to be quiet. The ceremony had started.

Jaejoong, who was standing beside Yunho as his best man laughed uncontrollably. He patted Yunho’s shoulder, “He’s too excited to see both of you together at last, isn’t he?”

Yunho laughed a bit. He shook his head several times, looking at his son who was now struggling to be let down but his grandmother didn’t allow him. Yunho saw his mother whispering something to Chunghee without letting him go from her embrace. Chunghee stared at his grandmother & then turned to looked at Yunho, “Really, daddy?”

Yunho gave his mother a questioning look but then nodded slowly without knowing what his mother told Chunghee, “Yay!” Chunghee shrieked again, in joy. He jumped up & down on his chair again.

Yunho knitted his eyebrows together & found his mother winking at him. He shook his head again, slightly. Letting out a big sigh, his eyes went back to his bride who was walking towards him. He took her hand from her father tenderly after whispering, “You look marvelous, Yul.”

The bride smiled & squeezed his hand on hers. Finally, Yunho pledged his love & commitment to his beautiful wife in a blissfully romantic ceremony.

The wedding reception took place at The Plaze. The marquee of the hotel was fabulous, decorated in white. The weather was a bit chilly as it was in autumn. They chose to get married in autumn as it was always Yunho’s dream & also, it was his favorite season.

Yunho & Yuri, with wedding ring on their fingers, getting showered with confetti as they entered the wedding reception, arm-in-arm. Yunho was cuddling & whispering to his bride when people were clapping their hands to welcome the new wedded couple.

Many guests were thankful when they went inside to the marquee to dine in. Light romantic music from the famous orchestra could be heard accompanying their dinner. The atmosphere was so romantic & relaxing as Yunho had prepared it in details as his gift for his beautiful bride.

After indulging themselves with dinner, wedding guests were waiting for the newly wedded couple to have their first wedding dance. Before they started their dance, Yunho whispered to Yuri, “Wait for a while, Yul. I have a surprise for you.”

Yuri was stunned but before she could uttered anything, Yunho had walked towards the stage, leaving her behind. He whispered to the pianist & took the microphone. He smiled at the guests who were looking at him in a questioning look. He cleared his throat before saying, “I’m so happy tonight & I couldn’t restraint myself to share my great happiness with you all. This is my first time singing in front of the audiences more than myself.” He paused as the guests were laughing, “I want to say thank you to Yuri for saying ‘Yes, I do’ this afternoon, for making me the happiest man on earth. In this precious moment, I want to give her a song that I hope it would become our wedding song. I kept my promise, Yul. Finally I’m brave enough to sing my heart out for you. It’s called beautiful life.”

Yuri stared at him in disbelief. Her eyes sparkled with tears. How this everlasting love had choked , making her difficult to breath.

The music gave an intro & Yunho started to sing.

‘You should ask me why I’ve been gone lately since I’ve met her.

I say that she’s so hard to understand

But without her I can’t breathe.’

Yuri stared at him without a blink. She was too amazed by his song. She knew Yunho needed some big courage to sing in public as he always admitted that he was afraid to sing.

‘Don’t wanna live by no one else’s design

You are the reason I live, the reason for my happiness

I wish to be with you forever, unconditionally

I love you so much

All the happiness in the world couldn’t even compare to you’

Yunho had never taken his eyes off of her while singing the lovely song. His voice was clear & firm in his promise through his song. He stepped down from the stage, approaching Yuri. Yuri shook her head & smiled at him lovingly. With teary eyes, she stood beside him, joining Yunho as he finish the song.

‘I love my beautiful ordinary life with you

Even if I don’t do anything all day,

If I’m with you I like everything.

There’s no need for a specific place I like,

Because my favorite place is you.’

Yuri still stared at him, forgetting everyone else in the room. After all the ups & downs of their relationship, she knew that she had made a right decision. The man standing with her was the man she loved with all of her heart, ‘Thank you god for bringing him into my life.’ She said silently. She was on the verge of tears. Yunho smiled & stole a kiss on her cheeks.

‘Don’t wanna live my life ny other way

There’s meaning for everything little thing in our perfect life

I wish to be with you forever, unconditionally

I love you so much.

All the happiness in the world couldn’t even compare to you.

I love my beautiful ordinary life

I love my beautiful ordinary life

With you.’

The guests were clapping their hands loudly as he finished the song. Yunho took hold of her hand & squeezed it lightly. Yuri stared at him with tears flowing down her beautiful face. She whispered, “Thank you, Oppa. That was so wonderful.”

He smiled & nodded his head. She stood on her tiptoes & kissed him gently on the lips. Yuri slowly closed her eyes as she felt the softness of his lips on hers. They were kissing for a few seconds in the middle of the grinning guests.

Yunho broke the kiss, whispering softly into her ear only, “I love you, Yul.”

From the corner table, a young woman stared at them in frustration. As Jiyeon felt her disappointment, her jealousy aroused while watching Yunho singing the most romantic song to his wife & then were engaged in a long, deep romantic kiss. Jiyeon stared at the lovely couple in hatred, ‘It’s such a romantic wedding! It’s supposed to be mine! It should have been me! I’ve never realized Oppa is such a romantic person! Wait for my last revenge, Yuri! I almost had Oppa in my hand but you ruined it! I can’t hold it anymore! I hate you to death, Kwon Yuri! I hate you! This wedding is supposed to be mine!’ Her heart was screaming as she felt an unbearable pain stabbing her heart deeply. Her eyes were gleaming with tears. She had to leave the hotel quickly if she didn’t want to add more wounds to her broken heart.

When she passed by the main lobby, Jiyeon saw a porter putting two cabin luggage at the concierge. One luggage attracted her eyes. It looked like Yunho’s luggage that she saw it this morning in his room. She approached the concierge desk & stole a glance at the label on it. Jung Yunho. She smiled evilly when she got a great idea. She walked to the main lobby & started to write something on a blank card.

Finishing with her notes, she walked towards the concierge desk, “Hi. Jung Yunho asked me to put this card in his luggage.” She said, giving the porter her best smile, “That luggage.” She pointed at Yunho’s luggage.

The young man stared at her, admiring her beautiful face dr
