Chapter 22

Yuri sat down at her study chair, staring blankly at the view outside her window. Soft music swirled around her & she felt relaxing. She glanced at her son in his crib & smiled, “Chunghee likes music.” She said to herself. He would stop crying when she played the music. She read from the baby’s guide book that hearing the soft music from Beethoven & other genius composer could make a baby’s intelligent improved dramatically. She bought one cd at first but when she told Yunho about it, he bought all the baby’s cd available in the music store. She shook her head slightly. Yunho had made her room so perfect. Anything she & Chunghee needed was there. He’d never failed to make her stunned with his surprise action. He was so thoughtful & a wonderful father, she admitted. Jung Yunho might be very busy with his work but he was more interested in his newborn son, Chunghee. Although he had a busy work schedule, he always made sure that he did his share of taking care of him.

Her relationship with Yunho had been improved lately. They could chat as good friends now. Of course, the most topic was their son, Chunghee. However, this afternoon incident had made her depressed again. She was feeling very blue & less confident. This depression could be a serious thing as it could change her mood dramatically, “He’s still dating Park Jiyeon behind my back. Although he visited me every weekdays, they could still meet during the office hour.” Yuri said to herself in frustration. Her heart thumped. That was twice she had caught him with Jiyeon. First was when he supposed to have dinner with Jiyeon on the day she gave birth & today’s lunch was the second, “How could you, Yunho Oppa?” She said.

The sound of a stopping car in front of her house made her turn her head again, to look outside the window, ‘He’s coming.’ Her mind told her.

Yuri took in a deep breath & closed her eyes, gathering her strength to face him. The vision of him & Park Jiyeon having a romantic lunch made her blood pressure rose. She tried to forget it since she came back home but she failed. She felt her heart dropped down to the bottom every time she remembered how perfect Yunho & Jiyeon were together & he still got the nerve to come into her house again, after she caught him with Jiyeon, ‘He’s a cheater.’ Yuri thought, ‘I should have known better. Men liked Oppa, having all he wanted & being a silver spoon child, had never appreciated what he had. He could walk off when he gets bored of his girls.’ Yuri shot herself a pitying smile, “You’ll be left soon, Yuri.” She said, trying to keep the desperation she suddenly felt from her voice. She swallowed the lump in when she heard footsteps coming, ‘He’s here.’ Her heart told her.

Stepping into her room, Yunho saw Yuri who was pretending to be busy with her books. Her back was facing him as she sat on her study chair. He smiled & shook his head lightly.

“Hi, Yul.” He moved closer & tried to kiss her on the cheek.

Yuri turned her head away, avoiding his kiss so his kiss landed on her hair making Yunho stunned. In these last few days, Yuri didn’t protest if he kissed her lightly on the cheek. However, he didn’t say anything & walked to the crib where the grinning Chunghee was kicking the air with his tiny legs. He shrieked in delight when he saw a familiar face, his father.

“Hello, Chun. What are you doing?” Yunho chuckled & pulled him into his embrace. He kissed Chunghee’s cheek & brought him to Yuri’s bed. Laying him there, he tickled him, making Chunghee shrieked again, loudly “Put him back.” Yuri said shortly in a cold tone. Her eyes flew to his.

Yunho frowned, “Why should I?”

“Because he wants to sleep.”

Yunho’s head shot up sharply. He knitted his eyebrows but Yuri flashed him a warning look. He took in a deep breath & muttered to himself, “Get ready, Yunho. She’s in a bad mood again.”

“What did you say?”

Yunho grinned weakly, “I didn’t say anything.” He answered quickly, before she exploded.

Yuri tilted her head back, just enough so she could see his face. He was still grinning. She glared at him & his smile vanished. He groaned inside. What did he do this time? Chunghee wasn’t sleeping, his son was grinning at him. Chunghee wanted to play with him but he didn’t dare to argue with her. He turned away, put his hands into his pockets.

There was a moment that seemed to stretch on forever.

His eyes were locked on hers & he could see the anger burning like a flame in her eyes. What was it? Was it about the lunch this afternoon? Or something else? His stomach contracted into a hard knot. He wanted to ask her but he didn’t dare to. He closed his mouth, ‘Don’t do anything stupid, Yunho or you’d lose your chance again!’ His mind reminded him, so he decided not to say anything regarding to the lunch incident this afternoon. He then acted liked nothing happened between them.

“I’m sorry. I put him back into his crib.” He held up Chunghee from Yuri’s bed & brought him back to his crib but Chunghee protested.

“Sorry, Chun. Mommy said it’s time to sleep.” Yunho said, after kissing him lightly, “We can play later okay? Be a good boy.”

Chunghee started to cry while Yunho caressed him lovingly. Feeling his father's touch, Chunghee stopped crying. His eyes began to close slowly as he was drowning into a deep sleep again.

“So, Tiffany is your best friend sin
