Chapter 30

Soaking wet under the heavy rain because she didn’t use her umbrella, Yuri ran into her house. Her dress was stuck onto her body like a second skin. However, she could hide her endless tears on her face from anyone as they mixed with the rain.

Youngmi raised her left eyebrow when she saw Yuri shuddering because of the coldness, “Yuri, what happened to you? Where have you been? Oh my god, why are you soaking wet like this?” She got up from the sofa, following Yuri to her room.

“Nothing. It just happened to rain suddenly when I was walking around.” She lied, forcing a smile onto her pale face.

Youngmi stared at her, disbelieving what she had just said. What did she do in this heavy rain? It took more than a half hour to go to downtown, especially by bus. She hadn’t usually gone there especially by herself if there wasn't something special. She turned her gaze & saw an umbrella in her hand, “Why didn’t you use your umbrella?”

Yuri looked at her right hand, still holding the umbrella tightly, “Oops, I forget that I bought this umbrella with me.” She said in a light tone, but she couldn’t fool her sister’s eyes. Her swollen eyes were telling Mimi the truth. Youngmi sighed secretly behind Yuri’s back. Something had happened. Her sister’s eyes were swollen & red. She must have been crying but what was it? Was it because of Yunho again? Forgetting to open the umbrella was only her excuses to hide her tears. She was walking in the rain on purpose. What was going on this time?

“Can you excuse me, Mimi? I want to take a bath. Please take Chunghee with you for a while.” Yuri said, putting her handbag down & took the dry towel to wipe her face.

Youngmi nodded her head & let her sister go to the bathroom. She stole a glance at her while playing with Chunghee on her bed. Something must have happened. She was sure of it. However, she didn't dare ask Yuri any further. She decided to wait.

Taking her wet dress off her body, Yuri turned the shower tap into a high position. As the water was running harshly from the shower, she closed her eyes, letting her tears flow down endlessly. She let her emotion out from her bleeding heart. She curved her body on the bathroom floor under the running water. She tried to press her emotion down & strength her heart but she failed. Why couldn’t she accept that Yunho had betrayed her? The words Jiyeon said echoed in her ear, ‘I can only say that we have a great love & ’. She closed her ears with her hands. The pain in her heart was unbearable.

She remembered in the last three days since Yunho didn’t come on Tuesday night, he was acting weird. She guessed that he didn’t agree to her plan of leaving Chunghee with him but she was totally wrong. He was acting weird because he was afraid that the media would publish his secret affair. Finally, god helped her to open her eyes. The truth has been revealed. She had to accept the fact. Not every teenager dreams came true. Falling in love with him was certainly the biggest mistake in her life. She quickly took the towel to clean her soaking body. She made up her mind that she wouldn’t care about him anymore. He could go to hell & she wouldn’t care! It was just too much pain, more than she could ever bear. However, why did he say that it was all lies? Did he tell her the truth? His voice sounded so sincere but once again, Yunho had the capability to melt her heart as before. She groaned in despair.

Yunho came to visit Yuri & Chunghee as usual after working hours that night. However, Yuri refused to talk to him. She kept quiet while reading her textbook & ignored him completely.

Taking in a deep breath, he kneeled down beside her study chair, “Yul, what is it? Are you still angry with me? Please let me explain about the rumors. I…”

“I don’t want to hear it.” She answered shortly, without taking her eyes away from the textbook.

“But you have to listen to me, otherwise this misunderstanding will destroy our relationship.” He said firmly in a serious tone.

Yuri turned her head to looked at him. She found his eyes pleading at her to give him a chance to explain but she had strengthened her heart not to hear anymore lies from him, “You can keep your words for next time. I don’t want to hear any words from you.” She said coldly, & turned her head again, to the textbook.

Yunho was stunned, ‘What does she mean? She have to know the truth.’ His heart said to himself, “Yuri, give me a chance please.”

She shook her head, “What for, Yun Oppa? It doesn’t make any difference between us. It’s your life. I don’t have a right to interfere. If you don’t want us to get into a fight in front of Chun then don’t say anything. I don’t want to hear any word wh
