Jinki groaned, rubbing his palm on his face as he replayed that night again in his thoughts; all week he couldn’t get the heartbroken look on Minho’s face out of his mind, right after the younger man had confessed, eyes large and hopeful, before Jinki flaked and didn’t respond.

I should have said something, Jinki thinks regretfully. He wishes that would have at leastacknowledged the heartfelt words, but… Jinki had still been too afraid then, afraid of these strange feelings he had been harboring for his best friend for all these years. He saw the confession coming from a mile away—it’d be a lie to say that he didn’t—yet he still froze up when it actually happened.

Jinki loved Minho, even if he was too afraid to show it openly. His hands shook as he picked up the phone, number dialed. His mouth went dry at the hesitant words that came from the other line:

"Hyung?"

Jinki wasn’t going to screw it up this time.

"Minho-yah, I have to tell you something…"
