It’s Goo Joonhwe.

It’s really him; I’m a hundred percent sure.

I mean like, who doesn’t know him? Last year, him and the team he’s in, the B team, made a big ruckus in Japan. They were on an YG show called Who Is Next. It’s YG survival show, actually. Two teams fought against each other to get a chance to debut. The winner is the A team, which now well-known as WINNER. Yet on the other side, B team, the lost team, gained more attention from world-wide viewers, including from Japanese fangirls. I remember kaa-san* and nee-chan* made a big deal about them last year. Simply because one from the six boys was a member of our family.

Hold on the train of thoughts, let’s put it aside.

I still have Joonhwe standing in front of me.

“I’m so sorry about what happened earlier” he bows.

So here we are, in the coffee shop in the airport. Joonhwe insisted to talk to me while I clearly showed him that I refuse to be nice to anybody at this moment. He is the reason that my mood is all ruined. But this frickin’ tall boy dragged me to the coffee shop, he even brought my suitcase for me. He is unexpectedly.. a brat.

“are you done?” I finally open my mouth, the words came out sharply. I can see Joonhwe opens his mouth in disbelief, probably surprised by my annoying attitude. I mean, he was saying sorry yet I act like I don’t appreciate it.

I sigh.

“Let me tell you this. I just finally landed from a 12 hours flight and I am so frickin’ tired. You ran and hit me and I could see bunch of girls were trying to rip you off because what? Let me guess, you are a superstar and the girls are crazy over you? Dude, my phone was falling into pieces and now I can’t contact my family. What am I supposed to do now? What if they think I didn’t make it here? Be responsible!”

I just blurted everything out, in English. Hold on, I’m in South Korea!!! Does he even understand what I said?

I look at his desperate face and suddenly the guilt creeps over me. I feel sorry for him. He has that innocent lost puppy face now. He glances at me few times yet doesn’t say any word; doesn’t know what to say.

“I’m sorry, I’m out of my mind today” I rub my temples as I said the words in Korean. Don’t worry people, foreign languages are my forte, I can speak and understand Korean, though I’m not an expert. Obviously because I’m not a native speaker.

“ah anniyo, I’m so sorry, mianhamnida. I mean it. I don’t know something like that would happen” he scratches his neck and slightly bows at me.

Well, who would know?

I just slightly smile at him.

“well, don’t mind it. It’s me afterall who acted without my brain’s consent” I bluntly say

He frowns. Did I say something wrong? I’m about to open my mouth but I don’t know what to say.

Then he puts his hand in front of my face, “hold on” he says, then picks his phone. Now I’m the one who frowns

“yoboseyo? Ah hyung, I’m in the coffee shop. Ndeh, the one on the left side of the airport. Yeah, I’m okay, don’t worry. Sorry I didn’t make it to pick you guys up.” He throws a glance at me. I put a poker face so he doesn’t know that I'm actually paying full attention to him who is now on the phone and wondering which hyung he is talking to.

“oh you heard about what happened? Aish.. gwenchana.. right, okay, I’ll see in a minute” he ends the call.

“.. is.. everything okay?” I ask him while trying to compose myself, not to let him knows that I’m really curious. More like.. nervous, actually.

“ah yeah, my hyungs are coming over here soon. I was supposed to pick them up today actually” he explains.

“what? What hyungs? Did you mean..”

“Joonhwe!!!”

Before I finish my words, I heard a thin voice calling from the door. I pause and turn my head around. Like a slow motion in movie, I see four guys in chic and hip-hop fashion style make their way towards our table. All of them wearing snapbacks and shades, except one person, the shortie one, wears beanie hat.

I open my mouth, can’t believe the scene I just saw.

Crap.

The second the four hyungs get closer, I swiftly stand up and ready to slip away.

“wait! Why are you in a rush? I haven’t thanked you properly!” Joonhwe grabs my hand. I quickly snap my hand away from his, he looks surprised.

“what..?”

“what’s happening here?” hanbin says. They’re here. I can’t escape. I fix my shades.

Joonhwe clears his throat, “anniyo hyung, he’s the one who helped me earlier” he says

“ssinchaa? Kamsahamnida… I’m sorry I don’t know your name…” hanbin looks at me.

Crap.

Should I say my name? What if he noticed me? I don’t want him to notice me. Dear god, what should I…

AHA!

“Pardon me, what did you say…? Are you.. talking to me?” I (pretend to) innocently reply him in english

Yes, English, you just saved my life.
