I enter the coffee shop, immediately choose a seat where she can see me. I just need to talk with her. Since… well, so many things happened lately. Yet I never had a chance to say what I have in mind. Everybody knows perfectly that I’m such a quiet and passive Jinhwan, but hopefully I can talk everything out to her.

I look up to the door as I hear the bell rings, go figure. It’s her entering the coffee shop, looking busy with so many folders on her left hand and her right hand holding her phone as she opens the door. I stand up to call her.

“Yuki-noona!”

She immediately smiles and walks towards my table.

“Hey Jinnie, I’m sorry I’m late. Finally I finished the meeting. Work is just tough, you know? So how are you?” She blurts everything right away. She’s so funny.

“Yeah, I’m alright.”

“That’s great, how’s practice so far?” she asks.

“It’s fine. We’re doing fine. But well yeah, Joonhwe had a hard time to cope with practice at first. It’s a good thing he’s doing better now.” I say

“Oh, talking about Joonhwe. I met him few days ago and he gave me this letter and CD for Ody. Because you know, Ody won’t allow anyone to contact her, except me of course. So Joonhwe asked me a favor to give the letter and CD to Ody”

“Really?” I frown.

“You did it again” She smiles

“I did what?”

She stares at me.

I suddenly feel… awkward.

She smiles, “Do you realize? You always frown whenever Joonhwe and Ody mentioned together. Either verbally or physically”

I frown, again. “What did you mean, noona?”

“You know what I meant. You don’t like it when you see, or hear, Ody together with Joonhwe. You don’t like it when I mentioned Joonhwe and Ody earlier”

“Wh-what?”

“Jinnie, you are a lot like Ody. You guys are really similar”

I still look at her in confusion.

She chuckles, “You may not talk a lot. But your gestures show everything”

I blink my eyes few times, and then bury my face on my folded arms on the table.

“She confessed to you, right?”

I immediately look up to see her. She still smiles.

“H-how?”

“I told you. You are similar to Ody. Both of you and Ody’s gestures said it all” She explains.

“B-but... But Joonhwe…?” I look at her, almost pleading. I surprised with my own pleading voice.

“Right, She and Joonhwe have mutual feelings to each other. Obviously”

I sigh. Somehow I admit it now. As much as I want to deny it, I don’t like it when Joonhwe and Ody mentioned together, either verbally nor physically.

”Yuki-noona…”

“You know you can talk to about it, Jinnie. Anything. I’m all ears. I know you called me here to talk about this” She smiles.

This is why I like her so much. She knows everything even though I don’t put it in words. She’s always willing to listen to me.

“For all this time, I always believe…” I look at her in the eyes.

“Yes?”

“I always believe, you are the one I like”

Despite of my expectation, she looks really calm. No sign of surprise, at all. As if like I’m not confessing. She just looks at me in anticipation.

I take a deep breath in, “But exactly a day before I had to go back to Korea, you know, back then when I was on exchange program, she confessed to me. I didn’t know what to do, I never expected that to happen. So I didn’t say anything. And when I met her again here in Korea, she confessed to me again. Not exactly confessing, but it was more like… She told me to forget everything. She cried. I can’t forget her crying face. It hurts me to see her crying. But then slowly, she has Joonhwe. As much as I want to say that I’m happy to see her happy whenever she’s with Joonhwe, but you’re right. I don’t like it when she’s with him”

I look up to see her.

She sighs, “Jinnie, I never knew you are this stupid”

I open my mouth in disbelief, “What?!”

“Okay, first, thank you for liking me. I really appreciate that. But maybe you take it in a wrong way. I meant, the way you like me, it’s probably different from the way Joonhwe likes Ody. Do you get it? You admire me. Do you know in what extent Joonhwe likes Ody? He likes her to the point that he will do anything for her. You said it by yourself, he had a hard time coping with practice. It was because of Ody, right? You have no idea how many times he nagged me because Ody won’t let me give any of her contact to him. He loves her. Do you even feel that way to me? No. Oh please don’t look at me that way. You know I am right.”

I sigh, I knock my head on the table.

“Noona, what should I do? What am I supposed to do? What’s wrong with me?”

“You are just confused. Maybe it’s because you see Ody as your little sister? We all know how childish Ody is and Joonhwe is the first boy ever that successfully enters her life. Or maybe because you act like a protective father who is not willing to let her daughter go with any guy? I don’t know.”

I laugh to her statement.

“This is why I like you. You always know how to make me laugh. You always know how to talk to me”

“Scratch that, Jinnie. You admire me. Don’t confuse yourself even more.”

I look up to see her, she’s now looking at her phone.

“So, how is she doing?” I ask, referring to Ody.

“Hmm? Ody?” She looks away from her phone, now staring at me.

“Yes, I meant Ody” I say.

“She’s doing fine with her therapy. She will have bone marrow transplantation around next month” There’s a hint of sadness when she said that.

“Is that so? I hope all goes well with her transplantation” I say.

“Yeah, I hope the same too” She smiles.

I smile at her. There’s a few seconds gap before she finally talks again.

“Jinnie, don’t feel bad anymore, okay? Ody’s fine. Love doesn’t always go the way we want it. Love doesn’t always have to be mutual, you know. Sometimes you misunderstand your feeling, sometimes the object of your love doesn’t feel the same way. Sometimes you feel rejected, sometimes you smile because of love. That just how love is. That just how human feeling is. You are still young, you still have a long way to go” She says.

I smirk, “Yeah, said someone who’s only 26 years old, and single” I laugh.

“YAH! Who said I’m single?” She pouts

“You’re not? Really?” I’m surprised.

“Well, I never said I’m single” She laughs.

“Right, noona. Right.” I laugh. Hey, I wonder why I don’t feel bad at all about her saying that she’s not single. Human feeling is sure confusing.

“So, do you feel better now?” She asks.

I look at her sincerely, “Yeah, I do. Thank you so much, noona”

“Anytime, Jinnie. For now, just focus on your practice, okay?”

I nod.

“Talking about practice, aren’t you here for too long? Don’t you have any practice today?” She points at the clock on the wall.

I look up at the clock.

“Oh my, I guess I have to leave now, noona” I immediately stand from my seat.

“Please tell Joonhwe that I will send his stuff to Ody tomorrow, okay? Good luck on practice, Jinnie! Tell the boys I say hi” She waves her hand.

“I will. Thank you so much, noona. You’re a big help for me”

Yuki-noona laughs then pats my shoulder. I bow to her to say bye. At least I feel a lot better now.

Yuki looks out to the window to see Jinhwan disappear from her sight. She sighs.

Love is sure confusing.

Author's Note : so here we go with the side story about Jinhwan and Yuki. Actually I had a hard time about the ending though, I don't know what I'm supposed to do to end it T_T So yeah, I hope you guys liked it even though I'm not really satisfied with this one, forgive me T_T Math homework is killing me, lol
