Pushing

An Inheritor's Marriage

Not edited
I got too excited asdfghjkl

Nayeon jerked up from the sudden bang on the door. Sharp and constant, just like the person behind the urgent wake-up call. Putting on her robe and staggering her slippers on, Nayeon walked to the door.

“Rise and shine, princess.” her boss said monotonously. With Giorgio Armani sunglasses resting loosely on the bridge of her nose, a small half grin was stamped on her face. “It is,” she looked at her rose gold Michael Kors watch, “6 in the morning. You and Taegi have 10 minutes to get ready. Crew’s leaving in 15 minutes. Don’t be late.”

Loud hyperactive knocks banged on her door. Nayeon opened it and before she could say anything, her shoulders deflated. “Awe, Park sajangnim beat me to it.” Wendy sulked as she walked inside.

Pushing the kid’s head away, Kahi walked back out to the hallway. “You, Wendy,” she clarified, “Don’t be late either. It’s not a reminder. It’s an order.”

Making her way to the next door line of doors, Kahi knocked on the last door. Waiting impatiently, she knocked again more hastily this time.

A topless Spanish man opened the door and a fast-pace chuckle escaped her lips. “Did I get the wrong room?” she said aloud in Korean. “Sorry, wrong room.” she apologized with her hand up.

Whoever the hell it was knocking at her damn door at six in the ing morning was going to get an earful from her. “Hector!” she angrily called, “Who the hell is at the door?” She walked to the hallway until she caught a glance at who it was.

Park Kahi.

Also known as Nayeon’s boss. They hadn’t ever formally met. Only some small encounters here and there but everyone know knew Nayeon knew who Aeyoung was. It was always that way.

Pushing herself into the nearest room, Aeyoung shut her eyes and hoped that the other woman didn’t get a good look at her.

Too late.

As always, Nayeon introduced herself to the model and crew she was working with. Today she would be working with a new Spanish model/actor, Chavino Montielo. Although he was still young (twenty-three years old) Chavino was exceedingly tall and had the ideal facial hair that every man aspired for. He was new but his popularity was raising in fast increments. This photoshoot would bring both models fame from mutual countries. Everyone part ways. After an hour of makeup, her face was done. As Nayeon was getting her hair done, she couldn’t help but rest her eyes.

“I didn’t know you brought your sister along.”

With her eyes still shut, she answered in a croaky voice. “What are you talking about?”

Kahi turned to her, “You know, the less older one.” Kahi never really paid attention to Nayeon’s family, but it’s hard to miss the activities of Aeyoung when ‘XX Cosme’ was always so hyped up over. Whether it was the release of a new line or another store opening in another country, Moon Aeyoung was always proud to represent her brand.

“What?” Nayeon chuckled. “What makes you say that?”

Thinking about how ridiculous it was, Kahi shook the thought away. “It’s nothing. Just saw someone that looked like her.”

“In Spain?” Nayeon laughed in a higher pitch, “Well they do say that there are seven people in the world who look like you.” She leaned over and grabbed a cracker from her vanity table, “Maybe you saw Aeyoung’s.” she finished with a shrug.

Before she could take a bite from her cracker, it was snatched away from her. Kahi popped the snack in and took the entire packet from the model’s vanity table. “No snacking before a shooting.” Instead she handed Nayeon a cup of black coffee. “Short, small sips. You don’t want to look bloated now.”

Now that everything was literally taken away from her, she was stuck with a bland cup of coffee while the stylist was still fixing her hair. Taking her phone, her fingers worked their way and by the time she knew it, she was listening to her voicemail.

“Nayeon, it’s me. I just wanted to, uh–okay, I’m just going to get to the point. I know last night was rough but please. Don’t forget that I’m your husband. And you’re my wife. Couples argue but arguments are meant to be resolved. I know I’m probably the last person you want to hear from but–”

But what? She still wondered. Her fingers hovered over his contact name. Debating whether or not she should call him and ask herself. In Seoul, it would’ve been two o’clock in the afternoon. He would pick up?

Wouldn’t he?

Before she could press the call button, the hairstylist pat her shoulders to get on over to wardrobe. Nayeon sighed, putting her phone down, and then turned it off.

I can always call later.

After being left alone, she was feeling bored. Once her boy toy for the night left, Aeyoung was left in a large hotel with nothing to do. The encounter with Kahi was a close one, but it was so exciting. It gave her a rush, hence the rough morning with Hector. Looking through the y photos of them last night, she was on the verge of calling him back for some more rounds.

Of course that was until she saw her surveillance photos of Nayeon and the bellboy.

With a smirk on her face, Aeyoung rolled onto her back. “To send or not to send.” She selected them in chunks, “That is the question.”

Already, Aeyoung had installed a new account onto her phone so the number would be completely anonymous. How did she get his number? Easy. Moon Aeyoung always had her ways. Whether it was personally snooping herself or having someone else do it for her.

Clicking on his contact name, she messaged the pictures to Jinki with the message:

Barcelona, Spain. January 1, 2015. Ohla Hotel.

“Sent.”

She watched as the message was successfully sent. With a smirk on her face, Aeyoung rolled onto her stomach and looked at herself in the wall mirror.

“Bang.”

Lunch breaks were extremely limited, but it wasn’t like he had an appetite anyway. Glancing at his clock once again, Jinki couldn’t help but count the hours that she’s been gone.

Thirty-six hours. One day and twelve hours since she left without a word.

Closing his file, Jinki put his head down and sighed in exhaustion. He barely had any time to sleep and a morning meeting with the entire board members wasn’t exactly a good morning wake up call. It was the late afternoon meaning he had only a few hours left before he could run off home.

His phone clinged, notifying that he had a message sent to him. Accepting any distraction that would take him away from doing work, Jinki took his phone and saw that it was from a number he had never seen before. Automatically his eyes took notice of the pictures.

Of Nayeon and another man.

His eyebrows slowly furrowed as he clicked on the pictures and swiped through each of them. There were many photos sent. In the series of those photos, Nayeon was wearing a short clubbing dress and holding onto him. Then in the last photo, the two had kissed.

His blood boiled. A picture’s worth a thousand words.

That photo only required two:

They kissed.

He looked at the message that the messenger left at the bottom.

“Barcelona, Spain. January 1, 2015. Ohla Hotel.”

The fact that they spent their time at a hotel made him even more enraged. His wife, Moon Nayeon, had given her body to another man. He had cold hard evidence that she had an affair. Without even thinking about it, his fingers dialed Nayeon’s number. After a few rings, she picked up.

“Where the hell are you?” he lowly growled before she could even greet him.

“Excuse me?” He called her and this was the first thing he says? And at one point, she missed him. “Call me again when you learn to speak better.”

“Answer my question, dammit!” he shouted this time.

“I’m not appreciating the way you’re speaking to me therefore this conversation is over.” she replied passive aggressively.

“Who the hell is this guy that you’re with?” he said before she could hang up.

“What?”

“Someone sent me pictures of you and this man. Is this who you left me to be with?” he said with a mocking tone.

If he was going to be that way, she would too. “I thought we weren’t going to be in each other’s business.”

“Don’t be silly. We’re still married, Nayeon. I know that our marriage is on the rocks right now, but did you think sleeping with that man would make everything better?”

“Did you hire a spy to follow me?”

“So you’re admitting that you cheated?” he shouted.

“How low do you think I am, hm?” she said, completely frustrated by the entire situation. “You think that as a married woman, I’d be dumb enough to have an affair with a complete stranger?”

“Then explain the situation to me!”

“Nothing is going on. Goodbye Jinki, I’m hanging up.” she threatened.

“You keep pushing me away and I’ll only pull harder.”

“There’s nothing to for you to pull if you have no idea where I’m at.” she hung up.

“That’s where you’re wrong.” Hanging up from that conversation, he dialed his assistant’s number. “Lee Taemin, prep up the plane. I’m going to Barcelona.”

Chapter 44: OMG, I can't believe this story is finally ends. I'm surprised it's been 7 years since you've started this story. I'm really happy to see Nayeon finally get her happy ending with Jinki even after all the things happened in her 24 years life. I would also like to see what alternative ending you've plotted. Thanks for writing and finishing this beautiful story. I really enjoyed it! <3
