I think I’m Gonna Be Sick

I had another sleepless night. And I can’t even open my eyes properly because of the swollenness from crying all night.

“How can I go to work in this kind of state?” I said still laying at my bed, felt lazy to get up. Guilt is still stabbing my conscience… headache still drilling my temple. All I could do was let out a deep sigh. “I could not take another absence from work.” I drove myself to get up even it was hard to do so. I felt really woozy in moving that I have to grab a hold on something to stable my footing.

When I got to the shop I was really late...

“What happen to you?” my boss asked concernly as I took off the sunglasses I was wearing and expose my puffy eyes.

“I’m sorry boss. Don’t worry, I’m okay.” I said trying to sound lively.

“You don’t look okay to me. You should have called me instead. You look so pale!”

“Boss, don’t over react… I’m fine! Seriously!” I said assuring him as I patted his shoulder and went to the staff’s locker room to change into my uniform.

“What a stubborn kid!” He shouted at me shaking his head. I just turned to looked at him and smiled.

I attempted to move as fast as I could to keep up with others. Thankfully I survived my shift even if I was struggling. My boss insisted that I should take the whole week to rest. So after there, I went straight at Ahjussi’s store. They’ll be coming back later around six or seven in the evening, that’s what ahjussi said when he called awhile ago. Good thing Jongshin oppa volunteered to open up the store this morning, my problem was lessen a bit. He was talking to some teenagers who where paying for some stuff when I arrived…

“Oh? Ahnyeonghaseyo oppa!” I greeted him as I passed at the counter.

“Hey, you’re too early… you okay now?” he said back while scanning an item.

“Yeah, I am… thanks oppa.” I went inside the office to punch my time card.

Before I could get inside the office I heard one of the girls asked something to Jongshin… “Oppa, did EXO really come here yesterday? Why?”

“Hmm… yeah, a friend of them was working here and not feeling well yesterday when they visited. Since they don’t have a schedule, they decided to help out here.” He said aloud letting me hear what he said.

I turned to glared at him and said in no voice… “I KNOW… I KNOW…” and he teasingly smiled back.

“See I told you they were here. They’re all such a nice friend. I really like them so much.” Another girl said.

It feels like a hard knock in my head hearing what she said. I know I should be the one to apologize but I don’t know how. The guts that I need are just not present in me at the moment. Then I remember how I yelled at Baekhyun… it seems like he was the one I’m blaming for what happened although I didn’t mean to. I let out another frustrated sigh… I got out to the locker room after changing again to another uniform and went directly at the counter to substitute Jongshin.

“Are you going?” he asked all of a sudden.

“Going where?” I asked back not getting what he was asking about.

“On Thursday, Sehun’s graduation… he asked you to come right?” he said.

“I don’t know actually.” I answered. I almost forgot about it.

“You should go… you heard the customers awhile ago right?” I nodded as an answer. “Those are the kind of friends that are hard to find and very regrettable to lose.”

Well, he was actually right. I guess that’s my chance to apologize to them. “I will… I’m gonna go. So stop trying to implied things indirectly at me.”

He smiled teasingly and made a statement again. “Baekhyun likes you.”

“I know.” I said casually.

“You knew?!”

“Ne. he confessed already.” I answered.

He was silent for a second, seems like figuring something about me and then said again… “I think Suho likes you too.”

“Ne, you’re right.”

“Really? Wow, don’t tell me he confessed too?” I just nodded to him. “Daebakk! Wait… for sure you didn’t know that Sehun likes you either?”

“I already knew but he said he’ll give up…” I carelessly replied. “How did you know all of these?”

“I just observed yesterday.” He said, jaw dropped in amusement on my reponds. “When did your hair get so long, huh? I should be careful not to step on it.”

“Yah! Stop teasing me already… go check on our inventories. It’s your fault we have to recheck everything.” I shouted to dismiss him who still wearing a playful smile.

“Noona! Eonni!” the kids shouted when they welcomed me as I entered the gate.

“Aw~ I missed you guys!” I said hugging them all. “How’s your weekend?”

“We have so much fun noona.” Jibin answered.

“You should come with us nextime eonni.” Yoonmi added.

“That would be great.” I said. I turned my attention to ahjussi as I took out the keys of the store in my jacket’s pocket and handed it back to him. “Here Ahjussi… I’m so sorry for what happened yesterday. Promise, things like that would never happen again.”

“Ye Eun~ah don’t worry too much about it… its okay. We know that they’re just concern... they are your friends.” Nayoung ahjumma dearly said.

“Are you feeling alright?” Ahjussi suddenly asked feeling my forehead with the back of his hand.

“Yes ahjussi, I’m fine.” I smiled trying to sound zippy. “Oh, ahjussi before I forgot… Sehun’s graduation is on Thursday. I was wondering if I could take a day off to attend the ceremony.”

“Of course you can… take the whole week to rest. You look really tired.” He said.

“But ahjussi I’ve been taking too much day offs nowadays. I don’t want to take advantage of your kindness to us.”

“Don’t say that. You’ve been working so hard for us for so long now. You’re like a family already and we don’t want something bad happen to you and Jibin. So please go home and have some rest.” Ahjumma stated brushing my hair with her hand.

Just like ahjumma said, I treat them us my family, too and saying thank you is not enough to show my gratitude to them and I would do anything not to break that bond.

As Jibin and I walked home, I’m having this uneasy feeling that we are being watched or something alike… or maybe I’m just being paranoid…

“Noona, what’s wrong?” Jibin asked when he noticed that I kept on looking at our back.

“Hmm… nothing.” I just said, not wanting him to be alarmed.

“Noona, did you cry again?” Jibin asked looking up at me as we walked turning to a corner of a street to our house. “You said you and Baekhyun hyung were okay now… but why are you still crying?”

“I said something bad to him yesterday…” I sighed heavily. “And I feel really sorry about it.”

“Did you call him?” he asked again. We were taking the stair up to the house now. I turned to looked back again. I swear
