When a normal American Girl meets her favorite K-Pop celebrity in a subway station, things are bound to get interesting.
My friend Jazmine and I were having a conversation about fan fiction. I didn't really know much about it, and asked Jaz if I should start getting into it. She told me that most fan fic is... well... lets just say that I wouldn't want my 11 year old sister to read it. Upset with my culture, I decided to go against the norm and write a fan fiction that I COULD share with my little sister. That's how American Dongseng got started. (Dongseng is basically the Korean word for Little Sibling). I have tried to make this as accurate as possible, but obviously, I am not perfect. I really hope you guys enjoy it; I know I have. I have a lot more work to do... I'm not even sure how much... but I'm ready to share with you what I already have.
Please enjoy!

Yay! I got a new diary! I'm not even going to try to write everyday; it never works. I guess I'll just write when something interesting happens. But first, dear diary, we must get acquainted! My name is Hannah! I am 18 and a half years old and I live in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America.
I am just about to finish my freshman year of college at Georgia State University as a physics major. Yes, that's right... Physics. I'm a bit of a nerd. Ok, I'm a huge nerd. My dad has a P.H.D. in computer science, my mom has a degree in mechanical engineering, and my sister is currently a student... Learning how to fly airplanes. So, being smart kinda runs in the family.
But, even though I LOVE science and mathematics, I also love to sing, dance, and act. I love almost any kind of music and any kind of dance. However I have a special weakness for K-Pop. Yes, that's right... Physics... Wait, no... K-Pop... Sorry. As a matter of fact, I love K-Pop so much that I even took a class in Korean my first semester of college.
Anyway, I know this wasn't terribly interesting, but hey, when you get a new diary, you have to start somewhere! I promise my entries will be more interesting from now on.

Okay so, you know how I said I'd only write if something interesting happened? Well it did. Before I can explain... Well maybe I should just start from the beginning. I was sitting at the subway station in Downtown Atlanta, not too far from the airport. I was just chilling, listening to some K-Pop when I saw this REALLY attractive guy sit down on a bench not too far away.
This wasn't exactly abnormal, except there where two other people with him. One with a very expensive looking movie camera and the other with a boom mic. I figured "hey! That guy must be a celebrity!" So, myself being a master of sneakiness, I got up from my bench and walked in front of the bench where the supposed celebrity sat.
I was trying to be subtle, so I didn't get a very good look... On the first pass. On the second, I could've sworn that I recognized him. On the third, it seemed that it might be Taemin, one of my favorite K-Pop celebrities. But, of course, that would be ridiculous! Why would he be here? I mean, what are the odds of ME meeting HIM? No way! So I had to double check to see who it was. I made my fourth pass.
"How many times are you going to walk past me?"
I froze. No way was he talking to me. No way! That would be insane! I looked around innocently then turned to the boy. It WAS Taemin! And he was smiling. The movie camera was pointed at me. I felt my face get hot. And then I was blushing... Great. Way to be subtle, Hannah.
I suppose now I owe you an explanation. Lee Tamin is the youngest member of the 5 member K-Pop group SHINee. He is incredibly talented in singing, dancing, and acting. He's also REALLY cute and only 2 years older than me. Now, back to the story.
"Who? Me?" I asked. For a girl who got all A's her first semester of college, I can be such an idiot.
Taemin laughed. "Yes, you! Do you know who I am?"
It was only then I fully realized what was going on. Me, a little nobody from Kennesaw, just met Lee Taemin in a subway station. LEE TAEMIN! IN A SUBWAY STATION! I'm surprised I didn't just fangirl into oblivion. But I somehow managed to play it cool and say "oh yeah! You're SHINee's Taemin, aren't you? What brings you to Atlanta?"
"We're filming for a vacation show for S.M.. Each member of SHINee went to a different vacation spot for a week."
"Well, I live here!" I said smartly. Taemin looked really confused. "I mean, if you're staying in Atlanta, I'd be happy to show you around! I know where all the cool stuff is!"
I really didn't expect him to say yes. But if I didn't at least ask, I knew I'd regret it for the rest of my life. To my surprise, he said "I would like that!"
"Awesome" I replied. "Then where do you want to go first?"
"First, I want to go to my hotel" Oh. Right. I should have figured. "What if we back here at 9:00 tomorrow morning?"
"Yes!" I nearly shouted. Oops. I corrected my tone. "I mean, alright! See you tomorrow, there's my train." I spun around and nearly tripped over my own feet. Smooth.
"Wait!" He yelled. I turned around again. "What's your name?"
Oh right! Of course! Name. It took me longer to remember than I would have liked. "Hannah!" I finally managed to spit out. "My name is Hannah."
He smiled again. That smile is going to be really distracting during the tour, I thought. "See you tomorrow, Hannah!"
I managed to keep standing until I got on the train and it left the station. Then, I collapsed on a seat, took a couple of deep breaths, and pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I wasn't. So the most logical course of action was, of course, to fangirl like a maniac and have everybody on the train look at me like I was a lunatic. Way to go, Hannah. But I made it back to my apartment and now we've caught up to real time.
I'm trying to think of a cool place to take Taemin, assuming he actually shows up tomorrow. I still can't get over the fact that this is actually reality. I have a couple if options for where I can take him. I could take him to a braves game, the zoo, the aquarium, or somewhere not even in Atlanta. But I think I'm going to take him to underground Atlanta tomorrow. It's a nice place to go if you want to know more about Atlanta. I just wish we had more than one day together.
