I couldn’t stop my leg from shaking underneath the table, I was getting more impatient by the minute. I think Himchan was starting to notice my not-so-subtle fidgeting and I attempted to cover up how I was feeling by taking sips from my glass. But, it hasn't exactly been doing much. 

“I think you should try to at least act like you enjoy this date.” He joked.

I breathed in and straightened my back. “Sorry, so you said you were in college?” I couldn’t focus though, I just wanted to get out of here.

“Yeah, my last year of college. I’ll be taking over the family business after I graduate.” He answered. I looked up at him and noticed how he kept smiling. He didn’t seem like he was offended at all by my behavior.

I nod. “And why would you go on a date with me?”

“You’re known for rejecting all of your dates so, I was curious.” He shrugged his shoulders and ate some of the food on his plate.

“Then, you’re already aware of how this date was going to end?” 

“Unless, I can change your mind, of course.” He gave me another smile.

I smirked. “I am positive that won’t happen.”

“I’ll make sure to leave a lasting impression then.” He winked at me. I wasn’t sure what he was planning but I had to prepare myself.

“Soojin!” I perked up and looked at the boy waving at the doorway. Is that his way of helping? I groaned inwardly, questioning my sanity when I asked him for help.

“Who’s that?” Him Chan looked at the walking entertainment making its way to the table.

“You said you were gonna hang out with me today!” Daehyun kept up the lie. “Oh, hey!” He put his hand out to shake Himchan’s hand. Him Chan looked at him, confused, but shook it anyway. “Was this a date? Soojin, you’re at it again, huh?” This time, I blinked up at Daehyun. What is he doing now? “You shouldn’t invest anything in her. In fact, just run away from this table.” He warned Himchan.

Himchan awkwardly laughed in response. “What do you mean?”

Daehyun whispered. “She plays around, a lot.” He made sure to stress the end of the sentence.

Himchan looked puzzled. “Huh? She? A player?” He pointed at me to confirm the unbelievable news.

“Oh, yeah. You didn’t know? I found out the hard way.”

I narrowed my eyes at this babbling idiot.

"You and...him..." Himchan pointed between the two of us. My eyes widened and I was ready to object when Daehyun jumped in to 'help'.

"Yup, I was like number 27?" He counted on his fingers and Himchan eyes widened at the enlightenment. “Look, you’re a good looking guy, so be careful or you might become number 28.” I felt my anger slowly take over. He's enjoying this a lot more than I thought he would. “Actually, I’ll be the good guy here and take her away.” Daehyun grabbed my hand and pulled me from the table. He ignored Himchan calling after us and when we made it outside, I yanked my hand from his. He turned around and smiled. “I did good, right?” He looked like a little kid waiting to be praised.

I’ve confirmed it, he must really be dumb. I scoffed and took a deep breath or I would have screamed his ear off. “Number 27?” I slowly stalked towards him.
