Kayla’s POV

A couple of days into the shoot of the movie, I was much more comfortable in front of the camera and could act naturally in my character. Lee Joon had also become more comfortable and could act his character out all the way, impressing not only me but the rest of the staff too, including the director and Hwang-Mi. Each day, I gained the courage enhance the character further and develop her more and more when it came to detail. When I got to the location of the filming, I knew that Donghae’s plane to Taiwan was leaving, so I sent a quick text message to him. He replied a minute later and basically told me two things: he loved me and I was going to kick at the rest of the shooting. I locked my phone and put it down in my bag again. The cameras were already set up at the café where Lee Joon’s character worked and the staff was running around as usual. But they weren’t the only people around; I could see some other people too. Girls that might’ve been around my age, or younger, flocked around the setting with their phones held up high. Lee Joon, who was getting his makeup done, smiled and waved at the crowd of girls, and that was when I understood that they were his fans. “Hm, go figure.” I walked up to Lee Joon with a smile. “Good morning, sunshine!” I greeted him happily.

“Hi, cutie! How are you?” Lee Joon greeted back. The makeup artist stepped aside so that I could bend down and hug him.

“I’m good! How are you? Happy as always?” I asked.

“Yup! I’m feeling it’s going to be a good day! Brilliant acting, fantastic co-actors and of course the leading lady will do awesomely too!” Lee Joon exclaimed with his signature laugh following. I chuckled.

“Great! Continue to put lots and lots of pressure on me,” I replied, sticking out my tongue at him. Lee Joon grinned widely.

“Of course. I’m the ‘put pressure on people’-man. Everybody needs those guys! Just not all will admit it.” He winked at me. “But anyway,” he then continued, “has Donghae’s plane lifted yet or is he sending you texts still?”

“Haha, very funny. No, it left just now. And you make him sound super annoying, which he isn’t! He’s loving, caring, wonderful and charming and-”

“Your prince and knight in shining armour, I get it. Go get your makeup done now, you little cheese ball! You need to be Mollie in ten minutes.” I headed off towards my own makeup table quickly, giggling quite a lot. As I got my makeup and hair done, I couldn’t help but listening to some of the fans’ conversations. They were a bit too heated to not call for my attention, especially two of the girls who were discussing something very interesting.

“Who’s playing the lead role? Is it she sitting over there?” one of the girls asked, pointing ‘discreetly’ at me.

“I think it is. Wonder who she is. Haven’t heard her name before and according to tumblr, she’s a foreigner but I don’t know her name,” the other girl said. The first girl frowned.

“She seemed pretty close with Lee Joon earlier. Hugging him and giggling and stuff. Do you think she’s his girlfriend or something? They’d make a cute couple, I think.” I jerked at the last girl’s comment. What? Lee Joon and I a couple?! I wanted to shout out ‘No!’ and explain to the girls that their suspicion wasn’t the actual case. But just as I was about to say something, my name got called and I had to run over to change my clothes so that the shooting could begin. Even though I fell into my character almost instantly upon hearing ‘Action!’, I couldn’t help but worry about the girls’ rumours. Maybe they weren’t ELFs and therefore didn’t know about me and Donghae? I decided to believe that was the reason for now, just so that I could concentrate on the shooting instead of those silly rumours. In my opinion, a rumour created by only two girls couldn’t become much of a fuss.

“Really nice job today, guys! Really, really nice job!” the director said proudly, clapping his hands. “All right. See you all here same time tomorrow. Good night!” Lee Joon and I bowed to the crew and then headed off together. Since it was pretty warm outside, we agreed to take a walk home, going to my dorm first – Lee Joon didn’t want me to walk alone at night.

“That scene was very fun to shoot,” Lee Joon stated with a light chuckle. “You were so cute with all that flour on yourself!”

I laughed. “Yeah, but I thought your freaked out expression was funnier! I could barely hold my laughter a bay. It was outstanding,” I commentated. Lee Joon grinned.

“I’m the one who gives the most laughter around the dorms for my expression so it doesn’t surprise me too much,” he said smugly. I nudged his arm hard, making him whimper. “Ow!”

“Sorry, Mr ‘I’m so perfect’. Didn’t mean to hurt you.” I winked at him playfully. Lee Joon rolled his eyes at me. I chuckled. We walked on for a while until we got to the crossroads that would determine which dorm we were heading towards. Lee Joon made an abrupt stop all of a sudden, looking up in the sky with a scrunch on his nose. “What are you thinking so hard about?” I asked.

“Hm... What do you say about spending the night at our dorm instead?” Lee Joon wondered. I got wide eyes, though not out of shock, more like an ‘Are you for real?’-expression. “Come on, it’ll be fun! You’ll get to know all the members of MBLAQ and you won’t have to wake up alone!” My wide eyes fell into a provoked expression. It remained like that until Lee Joon realised his mistake and frantically waved his arms in the air. “I didn’t mean it like that! I meant that perhaps the other members have left for their own schedules already when you wake up and if you stay in our dorm you can wake up and have breakfast made by me and you won’t have to miss Donghae hyung as much as you might have if you’d woken up alone in the Super Junior dorms,” Lee Joon’s long explanation ended and he inhaled a great amount of air. “Wow, that took a lot of energy,” he mumbled, almost panting for air.

I rubbed my forehead, trying to understand how a guy could say so many strange things and still be cute enough to make anyone agree on what he’d blurted out. “Fine. I get your point. I’ll sleep at your dorms on one condition!”

“Yes?”

“I’m taking your bed and you’ll sleep on the couch.” I smirked, thinking I’d been a little naughty. However, that changed fast since Lee Joon shrugged his shoulders.

“Okay. I usually fall asleep on the couch anyways. Do you want to collect some things at the dorms first? You know, lady things,” he wondered. I let my arms fall down in total defeat and just laughed at the poor guy. “What did I do now?” Lee Joon muttered.

“I don’t know!” I exclaimed loudly. “You’re just being the wonderful you, haha! God, I love you, you little confused puppy. Come on!” I grabbed his arm and dragged him with me. “Don’t say what you just said to me to your girlfriend. She won’t stick with you after that.”

“Said what? Lady things? But what else should I call them?”

“Nothing! You just say: do you want to fetch anything? Leave her room to reply either yes or no and you’re done. Don’t mention what she’s going to fetch because that’ll just make her super embarrassed. Luckily for you, I’m your friend and I have a boyfriend to make those mistakes so I’m used to it and I don’t care. But, Lee Joon oppa, you really can’t say that to a girl you fancy. It won’t end well,” I explained to him, still having giggles under my breath. Lee Joon nodded his head.

“Okay, got it. Thanks for the advice,” he said. I smiled.

“No problem.” We arrived at the dorms five minutes later and I opened the door carefully in case someone had gone to sleep already. “Wait here,” I told Lee Joon before tip toeing inside Donghae’s and my room. I began to collect my things quietly, thinking I better not disturb anyone. That is, until I heard a familiar voice.

“Yo, yo, man! How are you, dude?” I lifted my head and closed my eyes. Crap, forgot Heechul existed there for a second. I grabbed my things and rushed into the bathroom to grab my toothbrush then ran out into the hallway. Heechul stood next to Lee Joon and they were both speaking in their failed English, acting cool and all. I lowered my head. “Boys,” I muttered.

“Hey! Yo, yo! Kayla in da house!” Heechul cheered. I faceplamed.

“Really, Hee?” I questioned.

“Yo, yo, man! I English talk!” Heechul said to me with a wide grin plastered on his face. Lee Joon was laughing hysterically in the background, holding his stomach. Soon, even I couldn’t hold it back. “You English?” Heechul kept repeating. “English you?” I shook my head. “Aw, yo, man! English talk! Much!” Heechul pouted, trying to look cute. I hit his arm playfully.

“What are you doing? Are you drunk or something?” I wondered, grinning back at him.

“For you info, little sis,” Heechul said, turning into his sassy self. “I’ve only had one Soju tonight! And that isn’t even enough to make Ryeowook drunk! So, no. I’m not drunk. I’m just funny. You gotta a problem with that?” I shook my head amusedly. “Good. Where’re you heading? Going scouting in the middle of the night or something?” Hm, not drunk, huh?

“I’m sleeping at MBLAQ’s dorms tonight. Lee Joon wanted to have some company and believed it was time for me to meet the MBLAQ members,” I explained to Heechul.

Heechul scowled. “Really? You think that’s a good idea? Wouldn’t Donghae be jealous?”

“Why would he? We’re friends. And friends have sleepovers! And don’t worry your little drunk head. I’m sleeping in Lee Joon’s bed while he sleeps on the couch. No contact whatsoever. In fact, there will be two walls between us!” I showed him two fingers and he just stared blankly at them.

“Mm... Well, I’ll tell our leader you ran off with someone. I mean I’ll tell your boyfriend you ran off with someone. I’ll tell our leader you...err...spent the night at their MBLAQ’s dorm.”

“You do that. And then go to bed. I think someone has put something strange in your Soju because, my dear oppa, you are drunk!” I hugged him quickly and then pushed Lee Joon out. “Good night!” I told Heechul and closed the door. “Wow, that was weird.”

“Haha, is he always like that? The famous Kim Heechul the drunk?” Lee Joon laughed.

“Actually, never. What I’ve seen at least. I have my suspicions that Hae threw out all their boos when he found out I was moving in.”

“Sounds like Donghae hyung to be perfectly honest,” Lee Joon agreed. “Well, Heechul didn’t seem to mind that you’re staying over at our dorm tonight, so I don’t see why anyone else should either. Besides, my group members would never let me as much as touch you or hug you... Err... That actually reminds me... I want a hug before we go in hehe.” Lee Joon smiled.

“Sure,” I replied. “But back to being serious now. I have no clue what the other member’s names are.” Lee Joon gasped, having his hands on both his cheeks in shock. “I know! I’m sorry!” I immediately said. “Teach them to me now!” I suggested.

“Of course! You must know their names. They’ll be pissed otherwise. Or maybe not, since you’re quite cute and a girl but still! Let’s not risk it I mean.” I nodded my head in agreement. “Okay, so firstly do you know what our name means? MBLAQ?”

“Is it an anagram?” I asked.

“Yup. It stands for: Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality!” Lee Joon said in his broken English accent. I giggled. “Yah! Don’t bully my English! Anyways! Let’s start with our leader: Seungho! He’s our leader and lead vocalist. He’s a good leader although a pain in the at times, but that’s all members so it doesn’t surprise you I’m sure. He’s great at playing piano which is both good and bad, since it’s never quiet in our dorm. He’s...err...an honest person. Can be a bit straightforward towards people he doesn’t know and always tells you what he thinks if you ask his opinion in anything. He’s really nice, popular with women.” Lee Joon grin mischievously. “Although he knows you’ve got a boyfriend. They said: ‘Oh~ a pretty girl, huh?’ when I told them about the movie. It’s ridiculous how easily you attract men. Must be frustrating for hyung.”

I smugly smirked, flipping my hair with my hand. “Yup. I’m fabulous!”

“Haha, indeed. Okay, next we have: G.O or Byung Hee. He loves being called oppa though, so you can call him that. What can I tell you about him? Hm... He’s our main vocalist, a clean freak, has had lots of girlfriends over the years, he loves to cook and takes long baths! That’s G.O in a nutshell, basically. Then we have: me! I’m the most awesome out of the members, naturally. I’m the main dancer, one of the vocalists and the face of the group. You can see that easily.” Lee Joon stopped and touched his neck and overall face. “See? I’m flawless!” I stared at him quizzically.

“Mm, I can see that,” I said under my breath to prevent myself from laughing at him.

“Exactly! I’ve also got the best abs in the entire industry, I’m a fully trained Contemporary dancer, I do aegyo the best out of everyone I know and what else? Oh, right. My real name is Lee Chang Seon. Did you know that?”

“Nope, I didn’t. I like it! But Lee Joon sounds better, more manly as stuff.” Lee Joon smiled.

“Thank you. Then we have Thunder, our lead rapper, lead dancer, vocalist and our group’s flower boy. He hates being called cute and prefers to being called charismatic. He’s a good dongsaeng who is bad at obeying me. I wonder why... Anyway, he’s nice. Period. Lastly it’s Mir; main rapper and maknae. He loves animes, was a farmer before debut and he speaks English like a...” Lee Joon frowned; I could almost see his brain working at finding the correct words. “He’s bad! I don’t know how else to describe it. He’s horrible. So, unless you want to laugh your off and lie on the floor in cramps, don’t ask him to talk it, just say you’re a Korean speaker. You sound native so he shouldn’t cross the line to speak English.”

“Wow, isn’t that harsh?” I chuckled.

Lee Joon shook his head ferociously. “No! I’m not kidding, he’s worse than Heechul hyung!” I burst out in laughter. I had to admit; that was bad. “Oh, we’re here. I hardly notice,” Lee Joon suddenly exclaimed, pointing at the building in front of us.

“Wow, it’s pretty,” I complimented. We rode the elevator up to the tenth floor and headed towards the door. Lee Joon stuck the key into the keyhole and opened the door.

“Guys! Come greet a friend of mine! Friend!” I pushed Lee Joon inside and closed the door behind the two of us, looking out for the four remaining guys in the group.

“Yah! Guys! I know you’re in here! Come on, be nice!” Lee Joon shouted as he took off my coat and hung it next to his own on the hanger. He sighed deeply. “It’s Kayla!” he added. Within a millisecond we heard loud footsteps getting closer, making me grab onto Lee Joon’s arm for support in case they’d jump me. Suddenly, Seungho, G.O, Thunder and Mir all stood in front of me, their big eyes fixed on me and their lips formed into wide smiles.

“Hello!” Mir greeted. “I’m Mir! The cutest one out of us!” He grabbed my hand, and while shaking it, made a strange giggling noise.

“Nice to meet you, Mir. I’m Kayla.” The other guys reached out their hands as well, shaking mine eagerly.

“Nice to meet you too, Kayla. I’m Seungho, the leader of Music Live in Absolute Quality or MBLAQ; it’s easier to say. You’re the one who plays the lead role in the movie, right?” I nodded. “Ah, Lee Joon has talked a lot about you.”

“He has?” I questioned amusedly. Lee Joon’s blushing cheeks revealed the truth in Seungho’s statement, he also scratched the back of his head. “Aw, that’s so adorable of you!” I ruffled his hair. Lee Joon stuck out his tongue, but he didn’t seem to mind my behaviour.

“Guys, can Kayla and I have a sleepover? We’ve got an early schedule tomorrow and her boyfriend, Donghae hyung, isn’t home so I thought she wouldn’t be alone in the morning if the members of Super Junior left earlier than her. I’ll sleep on the couch, she’ll sleep in my bed. What do you guys say? Please?” Lee Joon didn’t kid about his effortless aegyo, it really was astounding how cute he looked. Seungho narrowed his eyes, so I went all in as well, joining the persistent Lee Joon in his aegyo. This time it worked much better. Seungho aw:ed.

“All right! If you kids keep it down, I don’t want to lose sleep because of your giggling.” Lee Joon and I high fived with one another. This was going to be an awesome evening, definitely.
