CHAPTER 9: FINDING EACH OTHER

 

“Good Morning” Jessica greeted when she saw Yuri at the kitchen

“Good Morning” Yuri greeted back “you’re just in time” putting the food on the table

“You should’ve waked me up” Jessica said as she took the milk on refrigerator

“It’s okay” Yuri said as she pulled Jessica’s chair

“Thanks” Jessica said as she sat down and poured a milk on her glass

“And besides I don’t want to get hit by pillow, early in the morning” Yuri said jokingly

 

Jessica suddenly felt her blood running through her face, she hung her head low, when she remember what happen

Yuri chuckled “it’s okay… you don’t have to feel bad about it”

Jessica sighed, still looking down

“I don’t feel bad about it…. I’m embarrassed”

 

 

“Going to office?” Yuri asked when she saw Jessica walking down the stairs on her office clothes

Jessica nodded

“Let’s go” Yuri said as she took her car key and went outside

“Huh?” Jessica asked confusedly as she followed Yuri outside

 

“I’ll drive you there” Yuri said as she opened the door in front, beside the driver’s seat

“It’s okay” Jessica protested “I ca---“

“You’re going to be late if you don’t go inside now” Yuri said as she looked at her watch

Jessica sighed in defeat…

Yuri unbuckled herself quickly as soon as they got on the parking lot of Jung’s company and opened the door for Jessica

 

“Thanks” Jessica said when she got out of the car “but you don’t have to do that”, she said as she pick up her bag and some folders inside the car

“It’s okay” Yuri said as she took Jessica’s bag and some folders “Pregnant woman shouldn’t stress herself”

“I can---“

“You’re going to be late if you don’t start walking now” Yuri said as she started to walked towards the elevator

“It’s okay, I am the boss anyway” Jessica said, smiling “are you planning to walk inside my office?”

“Do you want?” Yuri asked as she pressed the button to open the elevator “We’ll I don’t mind accompanying you there but, I’m afraid not in this clothes”

 

Yuri is wearing a short until her knees, a simple white t-shirt and slipper

 

“But next time, I’ll be sure to dress properly”

“You don’t have to, really“

“What time is your out?” Yuri asked as the elevator opened

“5” Jessica answered “now… give me that”, then she took her bag and folders from Yuri

“I’ll pick you up later” Yuri said, as Jessica stepped inside the elevator

“See you later” Yuri said as she waved her hands to Jessica

Jessica unconsciously waved back “drive carefully”

 

 

“Hey Taeng” Yuri said on the phone

“Hey…” Taeyeon said on the other line

“Can you come to my house?” Yuri asked while driving

“You mean you and Jessica’s house?”

“Yeah” Yuri answered

“Why?”

“I’m putting a camera inside our house and you know organize my own things on my secret room” Yuri said

“Why? you forget to do that?” Taeyeon asked

“Of course not” Yuri answered “but I have to finish everything before she come home”

“I get it” Taeyeon said “I’m on my way”

“Thanks” Yuri said, and then hung up…

 

 

 

Jessica is busy typing on her computer when her phone rang and sees Yuri’s name appeared.

 

“Hello” Jessica said as she answered her phone

“Hi…” Yuri said on the other line

“Do you need something?” Jessica asked

“No… I just call to let you know that I’m already home” Yuri said “safe and sound”

“----o….k” Jessica don’t know what to respond

“So, you can work now with a peace of mind”

 

Jessica unconsciously smiled, and then her door opened and reveals Tiffany…

 

“Still there?” Yuri asked

“Yeah…” Jessica answered “I’m little busy right now”

“I know” Yuri answered “see you later.”

 

“What?” Jessica asked when she saw Tiffany looking at her, smiling

Tiffany gave her a smile, but just shrugged her shoulder

 

 

“And what’s with the smile?” Taeyeon asked when she saw Yuri smiling

“Nothing” Yuri answered as she put her phone on the table

“Nothing?”

Yuri just smiled at her

“so, what happen yesterday?” Taeyeon asked

 

 “Stop it!, stop it!” Jessica said as she hit Yuri and struggling to free from her

“It’s okay... its okay now” Yuri said as she hugged Jessica tightly “it’s me… it’s me”

 

“Yul” Taeyeon said

“---------“,

“Yul?” Taeyeon asked

“Y-yeah,”

“You okay?” Taeyeon asked “you’re spacing out”

“Yeah.” Yuri answered “what is it again?”

“I’m asking what happen yesterday.”

“Ah, nothing much” Yuri answered “but, it really help us… especially last night”

Then a smirk formed on the corner of Taeyeon’s lips

“It’s not what you think” Yuri said

“I’m not thinking anything” Taeyeon said innocently

“You’re a e”

 

‘I really wanted to ask her what happen, but I guess… it’s not something that she want to talk about especially with a stranger like me… but I’m hoping someday, one day she will’

 

Yuri lazily opened her eyes as she stops the alarm clock placing on the table beside her bed…

6:00 A.M…

I’m supposed to be waking up at 7:00 A.M but because I have to wake up sleeping beauty that’s sleeping on the other room,… yeah, on the other room, even though we’re not awkward anymore and we’re supposed be husband and wife we can’t still imagine that we’re sleeping together, and we’re cool on that… I have to wake up earlier… I don’t want to repeat what happened yesterday, I waited for her to wake up because I have to drop her in her office before I went to work, but unbelievably, she slept all day...

 

Yuri stood up from her bed and went to Jessica’s room

“Jessica?” Yuri called as she knocked on Jessica’s room

“--------“

“I’m going in” Yuri said as she slowly opened the door,

 

I slowly sat down beside her and I don’t know but I couldn’t help to smile just staring at her like this like a creep. My hand unconsciously went to remove the hair strands on her face; she really looks like an angel.

I’m supposed to be waking her up, but here I am, staring at her and admire how beautiful she is. I guess it wasn’t so bad getting married like this and waking up every day and see this angel first thing in the morning”.

 

“Jessica” Yuri called

“-----“

“Jessica” Yuri said now tapping Jessica’s shoulder

“Hmmm”

 

Yuri unconsciously smiled, “how could this simple thing made me smile? You’re really weird, Kwon Yuri”

 

“You have to get up now”

“Just 5 minutes” Jessica said then covers her head under the blanket

“But I’ve been waking you up for 30 minutes now” Yuri said

“------“

“We’re going to be late from work” Yuri said as she slowly pulling the blanket on Jessica

 

Jessica lazily opened her eyes, “I’m still sleepy”

“Sleeping is good but you have to at least exercise your body” Yuri said “now I feel like I have a baby sister”

“I hate exercising” Jessica said

“That won’t do” Yuri said as she pulled Jessica to get up

 

“What time is your flight?” Jessica asked

“I’ll direct to airport after I drop you in your office” Yuri answered while driving then looked at Jessica

“Can’t you ask someone to stay with while I’m gone?” Yuri asked

“Tiffany is in U.S right now, and Krystal… she’s on their school trip” Jessica answered

 

Yuri sighed worriedly, Jessica has been struggling everyday due to her pregnancy and leaving her alone is making her worry.

 

“It’s okay” Jessica said “I’ll be fine”

“But---“ Yuri got interrupted

“When I need help, when something happen, you’ll be there for me, right?”

Yuri gave her a smile “I will, in a heartbeat”

 

U.S.A

 

“What’s with the sigh?” Taeyeon asked

“Nothing” Yuri answered weakly

“You’re actually spacing out the whole time” Taeyeon said “is something wrong?”

“Jessica” Yuri answered

“Is it really bad marrying her?” Taeyeon asked jokingly “that you—“

“No, it’s not that” Yuri answered “and honestly it’s actually better than I expected”

“Why?” Taeyeon asked “what do you expect?”

“I expected it to be, a house full of hate since we’ve been force to do it. I expected it to be don’t minding or even talk to each other unless it’s really necessary” Yuri said “I never expected that we could talk as if we’re not married, I never thought that we could be like this”

“If both of you are okay, what’s your problem?” Taeyeon asked

“She’s going to be alone for a whole week” Yuri said “and I’m really worried about her pregnancy and everything”

“She can call Tiffany to stay with her” Taeyeon said

“That’s the problem; Tiffany is here she’s with her family”

“Don’t worry, she’s going to be fine” Taeyeon said “We’ll be home before you know it”

 

Yuri just sighed

“Can you answer me truthfully?” Taeyeon asked

Yuri looked at her

“By any chance… are you falling in love with her?”

 “Love is a strong word.” Yuri answered truthfully “all I know is, all the hate, anger and question that I’ve had when they told me to marry her… disappeared the moment I look into her eyes… and right now, I am weirdly happy given the circumstances”

“Who knows, right? Maybe it’s destiny” As she smiled to her “She’s probably the one”

“I don’t know Taeng” Yuri said “I’m happy to what we are now, Love is complicated and I don’t know if I’m ready to fall in love again”

“It’s been ages Yul, it’s time you move on”

“I already did” Yuri said “But for Jessica… I don’t know”

“How can you be sure on what you feel for her, if you’re afraid to dig deeper?”

“That’s why I’m scared” Yuri said “what if I dig and fall deeper, and in the end, she’s not going to be there to hold me, and just let me go like what happen from the past”

“Haven’t you heard, that if someone left, there’s always someone better, what if that someone is Jessica?”

“What if not?”

“As ridiculous as it sounds because you’re already married, wait for the right one” Taeyeon said smiling at her “But wouldn’t it be great if that was Jessica? That’s a hell of work for universe for the both of you to find each other”
