CHAPTER 5: YOU DESERVED TO BE RESPECTED

 

“This is it?” Taeyeon said, when they finally reached the door where the ceremony will be held

Yuri didn’t say anything, and just keep on taking a deep breath.

“I will support and stay on your side till the end” Taeyeon said as she stood in front of Yuri “so, if you decide to run and go now… I’ll be right behind you”

Yuri couldn’t help but smile “I know and I thank you for that but I don’t want to be a runaway bride” she said playfully

Taeyeon smiled “I’m so proud of you.”

Yuri took a deep breath

“Don’t forget to smile” Taeyeon said as Yuri smile

“Perfect”

 

Mrs. Jung and Mrs. Kwon smiling happily to each other, Mr. Kwon tapping Mr. Jung shoulder, Tiffany trying to calm herself as if she’s the one who’s getting married, Krystal biting her lower lip while tip-toeing, and Jessica… she just froze.

 

Jessica went and stood on front of the judge, not bothering to look at the person who just entered the room

Tiffany stared at the person who just entered the room, from head to toe.

Krystal elbowed Tiffany “I know you’re taller than her but don’t look at her like that, it’s creepy”

“You look good” Mrs. Kwon said as she hugged Taeyeon

Krystal was going to go and greet Taeyeon when Yuri entered the room

 

“Yuri!” Mrs. Jung said excitedly as she hugged Yuri tightly

Even though she was surprised, Yuri managed to smiled and hugged her back

 

“Shall we start?” The judge asked

“Yeah, of course” Mrs. Jung answered as she let go and fixed Yuri’s clothes

 

Taeyeon stood beside Mrs. Kwon, and smiled at Yuri, who finally stood beside Jessica

 

‘The blonde one’ Taeyeon thought, suddenly felt the hair in her arms are standing, and couldn’t help but shiver

She looks around the room, when she noticed that Tiffany was staring at her intensely

 

‘So it’s not her’ Tiffany thought, staring at Taeyeon

 

Taeyeon swallowed and was about to look away when she saw Krystal who’s standing beside Tiffany waving her hand and smiled at her.

Taeyeon smiled back, and looked away immediately, without looking at Tiffany

 

“Did she just—“

“She didn’t ignore you” Krystal cut her off   “you’re scaring her.”

 

“God, Help me!” Yuri screaming for help in her mind. Cold sweat forming on her forehead as she stood freezing on her spot.

 

“Shall we start?” The judge asked

Yuri mentally thank him for breaking the awkwardness that she feels right now.

 

“Y-yeah” Jessica answered ‘Just end this quickly’

 

From the whole time that the judge was explaining or telling something, Yuri is either looking in front or look at her right side, while Jessica is doing the same thing, look in front or her left side

 

Then the judge closed the book that he’s holding “now, the ring”

 

With a shaking hand, Yuri took out the ring from her pocket nervously, and took a deep breath before she turned and face Jessica, she felt a little relief, when she realized that Jessica’s not looking at her, while she’s putting the ring on her finger, while Jessica felt the same, Yuri is not looking at her while she’s putting the ring.

Both of them felt relief after the ring exchange.

“Then, let’s end and seal this with the kiss” The judge said

 

“What?!” Yuri and Jessica shouted in unison, without looking at each other

“Why?” The judge asked, as she looked at the couple in front of her

“It’s not a church wedding? Jessica protested

 

“Are you the judge?” The judge asked “No.”

 

Yuri and Jessica looked at him dumbfounded

 

“I know what I’m doing” The judge said “so I’m telling you, this is how it should be done”

Yuri stared at the judge while swallowing hardly

“What?” The judge asked “You don’t want? Then I will not signed and legalize this marriage”

“You can’t do that” Mr. Jung spoke

“Yes, I can” The judge said, and started to organize her things

 

“There might be other wa—“

“There’s no other way” The judge said “Tt might not a church wedding, but still it’s sacred”

“We know that… but—“ Mr. Kwon got interrupted again

“What?” The judge asked impatiently “It’s just a kiss… couple do that”

‘but where not a couple!’ Yuri shouted on her mind

 

“You can leave now” The judge said “I still have meetings to attend to”

“Judge, please…” Mrs. Jung said as the judge made her to the door

“Wait!” it was Yuri

 

The judge stopped, while everyone looked at her, well, except Jessica who’s still freezing on her spot.

Yuri took a deep breath, the turned and faced the judge “We’ll do it”

 

The judge looked at her with “You sure?”

“We’ll do it” Yuri repeats, clenching her fist “so get back here, and let’s finish this…”

The judge went back in front

 

Tiffany’s eyebrows rose when she saw Taeyeon smiling like an idiot ‘how can that midget smiled in this situation?’

Even though she was surprised from Yuri’s action, Taeyeon couldn’t help but smile unconsciously.

But, that smile fades when her arms hair, starts to rose again, she slowly move her head, while swallowing hardly, ‘God, she’s killing me!’ she shouted in her mind when she saw Tiffany staring at her again

Taeyeon tried to smile at Tiffany, but Tiffany’s eyebrows rose higher than earlier and Taeyeon quickly looked away

 

“Shall we?” The judge asked

Yuri took a deep breath then slowly looked at Jessica

Jessica slowly moving to face Yuri ‘Jessica it’s just a kiss and it’s not the first time that you’re going to kiss someone’ encouraging herself

 

“Still shy to each other?” The judge asked “First kiss?”

Earlier, Yuri was mentally thanking him, but now, she’s cursing him.

 

When she finally faced Jessica, the girl was looking down. And at the corner of her eyes, she could see the judge impatiently looking at her watch

 

Yuri slowly reaching Jessica’s face ‘Oh, God! It’s just a kiss Yuri!’

 

Taeyeon bit her lower lip to prevent herself from smiling like a completely idiot as everyone held their breath.

Jessica flinched like when she felt, both of Yuri’s hand cupping her face, and slowly lifting her head.

 

Jessica gulped ‘it’s not the first time’ she encouraged to herself

And for the first time, they’re eyes finally met.

 

 ‘I feel like collapsing right now, I still can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m standing in front of her while cupping her face, looking at her eyes. God, I’m losing it. I wanted to look away but I can’t seem to do that, as if her brown round eyes are telling, to just look at her’

 

She slowly moved her eyes, down to Jessica’s nose, as she started leaning closer.

 

Jessica’s POV

“There it is, for the first time, I finally look at her, she posses eyes that not everyone could have, warm eyes. I was lost in my own world staring at her eyes, then her soft breath air, bring me back to reality… yes! I could feel it, every breath she’s taking right now, I feel it”

“I don’t know what to do, and just closed my eyes… I was ready… I was ready to kiss this stranger in front of me if that’s the only way to end this quickly…”

“Then the next second, couldn’t feel her breath anymore, not because we’re already kissing, but because she lifted her head up and kissed my forehead”

“It was gentle, It’s so gentle that it took all the anxiety that I have, so gentle that I feel like she’s telling me ‘I respect you’”

“You deserve to be respected” Yuri thought, the put her hands down and step backwards

 

Then she looked at the judge “Is that enough?”

 

The judge smiled at her “of course.”

Yuri smiled at him

 

“Then I pronounce yo—“ the judge got interrupted

 

“Congratulations!” Taeyeon said as she hooked her arms on Yuri’s neck, and ruffled her hair
