CHAPTER 10: DINNER PARTY

 

Kring! Kring! Kring!

Jessica annoyingly stopped her alarm clock beside her

 

I was awake for like an hour but I don’t feel like getting up and prepared to work… It is the first time that I’m all alone in this house. Usually, if Yuri was going somewhere overseas, I always ask Tiffany or Krystal to stay with me but unfortunately both of them went somewhere”

I thought I’m going to be okay but trust me, living alone is really something… and if Yuri were here I don’t have to woke up annoyingly because of that alarm clock and if Yuri were here I’m sure she’s going to wake me up using her warm voice… it’s so warm that I don’t mind waking up early in the morning and I won’t get tired hearing it first thing in the morning”

 

 

Jessica sighed heavily as she put down her pen, her stomach was growling like crazy since earlier

We’ll who can’t blame her, she’s been mixing the tuna and mayonnaise for like an hour but failed to make one sandwich, she really at cooking.

 

“If only Yuri were here” Jessica mumbled under her breath

She was lost in her own world when her secretary called her

 

“Mrs. Kwon” Shinyoung called

“Y-yes?” Jessica asked

“There’s a food delivery for you” Shinyoung said

“Huh?” Jessica asked confusedly “I didn’t order anything”

“What do---“ Shinyoung couldn’t finish what she’s going to say, when they heard Jessica’s phone rang

 

Jessica looked at her phone and smiled unconsciously as she answered it

 

“Good morning sleepy head!” Yuri greeted

“Good morning” Jessica greeted back “or should I say, good evening”

Yuri laughed “yeah… you’re right… it’s already evening here”

“Then why are you still awake?” Jessica asked

“Well, Taeyeon and I have to attend some a dinner party” Yuri answered “and speaking of dinner, is it already there?”

“Huh?” Jessica asked as she looked at Shinyoung, waiting for her, if she would take the order or not “the food?”

“Yeah” Yuri answered “I bet it’s already there”

“Take it and put it on my table” Jessica mouthed to Shinyoung

 

“The food just got here” Jessica said as she saw Shinyoung put the food on her table

“Anything?” Shinyoung asked

 

Jessica shook her head “Thanks”

 

“Thank you but you don’t have to” Jessica said

Yuri laughed “Of course I have to, the fact that you can’t cook and the fact that you can’t make a sandwich in an hour, of course I have to”

“Are you mocking me now?” Jessica asked laughingly

“Just saying” Yuri answered

Jessica smiled “this is what I miss about her… we’ve been living for almost a month but I feel like… she fully knows me”

 

“Yul, let’s go!” Taeyeon shouted from behind

“I guess you should go now” Jessica said

“Yeah…” Yuri said

“Take care” Jessica said

“I will” Yuri said “you too”,

 

3:51, 3:52, 3:53, the clock continue

 

“Hey… you can hang up now” Yuri said

“No, you first” Jessica said

“You first” Yuri said

 

“We are seriously going to be late!!” Taeyeon shouted again

Both Jessica and Yuri laughed

“Okay, I’ll hang up now” Jessica said, laughing

“Yeah” Yuri said waiting for Jessica to end the call

 

Then Jessica hangs up, as she looked at her phone smiling unconsciously.

 

Taeyeon and Yuri smiled to the guards as they walked inside the building where the party is holding.

 

FLASHBACK

Black Order

 

“So, this is our target” Siwon said as the picture appeared on the big screen in front of the meeting room “Yoo Jae-seok”

“I think I know him?” Yuri said

“Me too” Taeyeon said

“Really?” Sunny asked

 

Yuri nodded “I think he’s one of Dad’s investor and I guess he sent us an invitation for a dinner party”

 

“We’ve been suspicious about his, deals and some meetings” Siwon said “So, I put Amber to investigate him then she found out that she has a connection with Kang Ho-dong”, then Ho-dong’s picture appeared on the screen “member of Neptune”

“It might be coincidence” Yuri said

“We’ll we already thought about that, but… like I’ve told you all of his doings are very suspicious” Siwon said “and the fact that he put Mr. Kang as one of his VIP’s, make it more suspiciously”

“Is that the invitation that Yuri was talking about?” Sunny asked

 

Siwon nodded “Mr. Yoo will hold a dinner party for all of his so-called business partners in America, with Mr. Kang”

 

“What’s the plan?” Taeyeon asked

“You’re going to go in there, see if there’s a connection between them” Siwon said

“What about Ho-dong?” Yuri asked

“Just let him for now” Siwon said “I don’t think it’s a good idea to take him, he might do the same thing like PSY  but I’m putting surveillance on him, he might lead us to the other members”

 

END OF FLASHBACK

 

 

“We’ve got eyes on you” Siwon said while looking at the screen in front of them

Sooyoung use the satellite and hacked the camera of the building

“What about the target?” Yuri mumbled

“Talking to some guess” Siwon said

“And Ho-dong?” Taeyeon asked

“Not yet” Siwon answered

“What about Sunny’s team?” Yuri asked

“They’re waiting outside” Siwon answered “if you need a back-up”

 

“Mr. Yoo” Yuri said

“Yuri-ssi?” Mr. Yoo asked

“Yeah” Yuri answered

“Wow, you’ve really gotten prettier, huh” Mr. Yoo said

 

Yuri smiled “Thanks”

 

“What about your father?”

“He said, he can’t come, some unavoidable meeting” Yuri said “but he said, he’ll come another time”

“I see”

“And this is my friend, Kim Taeyeon” Yuri said

“I’m Yoo Jae-seok” Mr. Yoo said as he extended his hand

“Kim Taeyeon” Taeyeon said as she shook Mr. Yoo’s hand

 

3 of them we’re chatting, when Mr. Yoo looked at the door and saw Ho-dong

 

“If you need anything don’t be shy to ask” Mr. Yoo said

“Sure”

“Enjoy” Mr. Yoo said as he made his way to Ho-dong

 

 

 

“I feel like they’re just faking each other” Sooyoung said while looking at the screen

“Business person always wear those masks” Yuri said “that’s why I hate going on party’s like this”

“And it’s so boring” Taeyeon said as she took a drink

“Boring?” Sooyoung asked jokingly “I don’t think you’re bored”

“What made you say that?” Taeyeon asked

“You’ve been looking at girls bu---“

“No I’m not!” Taeyeon said defensively

 

Yuri and Sooyoung laughed

 

“Guys, Mr. Yoo is moving with Hodong” Sooyoung said as she saw Mr. Yoo and Ho-dong entered a private room

 

“Can you hack the camera inside that room?” Taeyeon asked

“I’ve already tried but I guess, there’s no camera inside” Sooyoung answered

 

Yuri and Taeyeon stood up when suddenly Taeyeon bump into someone…

 

“!” Taeyeon uttered as she felt the wine on her clothes “I’m sorry, I didn’t me-- Tiffany?”

“Great!” Tiffany said annoyingly as she started to wipe her clothes

“Hi, Tiff” It was Yuri “Heard you’re in the country, didn’t know you’ll be here”

Tiffany gave her a smile.

“Of all people!” Taeyeon thought as she took a tissue and handed it to Tiffany “I’m sorry… I was----“, she couldn’t finish what she’s going to say when Tiffany walked out on her

 

Taeyeon looked at her with open

“Guys, Hodong went outside the room without Mr. Yoo” Sooyoung said

“Taeng, let’s go” Yuri said as she tapped Taeyeon’s shoulder

Taeyeon nodded as they walked to where Mr. Yoo and Ho-dong went

 

“Any sign of Mr. Yoo?” Taeyeon asked

“Nope…” Sooyoung answered

 

Yuri took a handkerchief and placed it on the door knob before she open the door

“I’ll wait here” Taeyeon said

Yuri nodded as she walked inside the room silently

 

Yuri was walking inside the room carefully when suddenly; she heard a weak voice coming from the living room of the room

 

“Mr. Yoo?” Yuri asked as she walked silently, then saw a blood on the floor

“h-he-elp” Mr. Yoo said

“Mr. Yoo!!” Yuri yelled as she quickly run into Mr. Yoo’s side

 

“Soo, call an mmbulance and a police… he’s been shot!” Yuri said as she quickly put her hands on Mr. Yoo’s chest to suppress the blood

 

“Taeng!”

“What happ---“

“Soo, tell Sunny, don’t let Hodong, leave the place!” Yuri said

“Yeah, There’s an ambulance and police coming your way” Sooyoung said

“Taeng, grabbed Hodong” Yuri said. Taeyeon nodded as she went outside quickly

 

“Stay with me! stay with me!” Yuri said as she prevent Mr. Yoo from closing his eyes

“t-tak-ee---“

“Don’t say anything” Yuri said “There’s an ambulance coming here”

 

Mr. Yoo lifted his hand as he weakly taking off his ring “t-take t-this”

“What?!” Yuri asked “I told you don’t say anything!”

Mr. Yoo took Yuri’s hand and gave her the ring “S-stop t-them”

“I wi---“ Yuri couldn’t finish what she’s going to say when Mr. Yoo’s hand lifelessly fell on the floor

“Mr. Yoo” Yuri said “Mr. Yoo”

“-----“

 

“Close the door!!” Sunny ordered to the guard “don’t let anyone leave the building!”

HoDong and other four men was on their way to the door

“What happen?” HoDong asked the guards

“I’m sorry, for the inconvenience sir, but there’s an order that we can’t let anyone leave the building” the guard answered

 

 

Police siren echoed.

 

“Put your hands up!!” Amber shouted as she pointed the gun to Hodong

Hodong looked at the other four men with him

One man pulled her gun and starts to fire at Amber

“They’re armed” Amber said as she hides herself

 

“What was that?!” Taeyeon asked while running

“They’re armed, Taeng” Sooyoung said

“Can you see them?” Taeyeon asked

“Yeah… they’re going inside the party” Sooyoung said as she monitored the camera

 

Taeyeon was about to take her gun and entered the room when another gunshot echoed and heard a people screaming, running here and there

She saw the man who just fired run on the back door, she quickly followed them but because of the people panicking running here and there, it’s not easy

Taeyeon took her gun and followed the man, “you st---“, she couldn’t finish what she’s going to say when the man suddenly fired at him

“That was rude!” Taeyeon said as she hides herself, and fired back

 

A sound of gunshot can be heard all over the place, Tiffany was running on the corridor when suddenly, someone pulled her and covered

Tiffany elbowed the person

“Ouch!”

“Taeyeon?”

“Are you crazy?!” Taeyeon said angrily “there’s a gunshot all over the place, and you’re here wandering like you’re on a shopping”

“And wha—“

 

“Put your hands up!!!” the man shouted as he walked closer to them while pointing the gun “Don’t move!”

Taeyeon was swallowing really hard as she starts to move

 

“Don’t move!” the man shouted

“He said don’t mo--!” Tiffany couldn’t finish what she’s going to say when she realized that Taeyeon stood in front of her “What are you doing?”

 

“Just stay on my back” Taeyeon said, standing in front of her “everything is going to be okay”

Tiffany couldn’t say anything, froze, just staring at the person in front of her.

 

“If I take my gun behind me with Tiffany here, I’m going to blow up my whole cover, but If I don’t one of us might die here!” Taeyeon thought “Taeyeon think!!!”

 

Then the next second, a gunshot echoed.
