CHAPTER 6: STUCK WITH EACH OTHER

 

Kwon’s Residence

 

“You surprised me” Taeyeon said, as she stood beside Yuri who’s by the window staring at the view outside

“On what?” Yuri asked, not bothering to look at Taeyeon

“The kissing thing” Taeyeon said playfully

“I had no choice”

“But you chose something”

Yuri turned and looked at Taeyeon confusedly

Taeyeon grinned “just inch and you’re there, but you choose not to”

“Because it’s something that you just can’t give to someone, especially to a stranger”

“But you know what” Taeyeon said as she took her phone out “It’s sweet then showed Yuri the picture on her phone

 

Both of them with their eyes close, with both of Yuri’s hand cupping Jessica’s face softly as she kisses her forehead,

 

“It’s perfect” Taeyeon said “you too look good to—“

“Hi.” It was Krystal

“Hi.” Taeyeon and Yuri greeted back

“I forgot to introduce myself earlier. I’m Krystal, Jessica’s sister”, then extended her hand

“Taeyeon, Kim Taeyeon” Taeyeon said as she shook Krystal’s hand “Yuri’s best Friend”

“Kwon Yuri, right?” Krystal said as she extended her hand again

“Yeah” Yuri answered, then shook Krystal’s hand

“Welcome to the family” Krystal said smiling

 

 

“What do you think of her?” Tiffany asked

Jessica looked at Yuri who’s currently talking to Krystal

“How about you?” Jessica asked “what do you think?”

 

Tiffany looked at Yuri and Taeyeon’s direction

“She is… actually both of them have this, player look” Tiffany said staring at the two “I mean, I would be lying if I said that they don’t look good, because they do and I won’t be surprised if one day, there’s a girl came out from nowhere and just going to pull your hair the moment you walk out the door” Tiffany said jokingly

“Let’s hope that won’t happen”

 

“What do you feel now?” Taeyeon asked

Yuri sighed “honestly… I don’t know”

“Me, besides of being proud of you,  I’m a little scared right now”

 

Yuri looked at confusedly “scared of what?”

“Your wife’s best friend” Taeyeon whispered as if Tiffany could hear her “She scared the hell out of me”

Yuri chuckled “You’re what? You’re scared of her when I didn’t even see two of you talk”

“That’s the scariest part” Taeyeon said in fact “We didn’t even talk, but the way she looks at me, Oh God! she’s killing me!”

Yuri laughed “You’re over reacting”

“No, I’m not!” Taeyeon protested “She really gives me a shiver”

 

 

 

“What can you say about her?” Taeyeon asked in a serious tone

“She looks fine”

“Is that all you can say?” Taeyeon asked “She looks fine?”

“Should I say something more?”

Taeyeon sighed “Why aren’t you as funny as me?””

Yuri looked at her

“She also looked nice; a lot look nicer than that red hair”

“With pretty ”

“Yeah, with pretty but—no!”

Yuri burst out laughing

“Yul, I’m serious”

“And it doesn’t suit you.” Yuri said

“I know what you’re thinking” Taeyeon said

Yuri crossed her arms as she stood in front of Taeyeon “Care to tell me what I’m thinking right now”

“Like, she looks nice, that blonde hair suits her” Taeyeon said “and she’s extremely beautiful”

“Well I guess, that’s what everyone would think when they see her” Yuri said “Only blind man would say she’s not and I also know there’s a very big question running on your mind right now” Taeyeon said as she stepped closer to Yuri “How can he leave her like that?, how can he leave a perfect girl like that?” Taeyeon said as she tapped Yuri’s shoulder “I’ll go get a drink”

 

After Taeyeon left, Yuri took a deep breath then turned and looked at Jessica

 

‘It’s not how’ Yuri thought ‘It’s why?’

 

 

Yuri and Taeyeon were talking when they Yuri received a call

 

“Hey” Yuri said as she answered her phone

“I know, it’s your wedding” Siwon said, officer-in-charge in Black Order “But you have to be here now”

“I understand” Yuri said, then ended the call and looked at Taeyeon “Wait for me”

Taeyeon nodded

 

“Mom” Yuri called as she stood beside her mom

“Hm?” Mrs. Kwon asked

“My secretary called and there’s an important matter that I have to attend to” Yuri lied

“Can’t it wait?”

“I’m afraid not”

“You should go” Mrs. Jung said

“I’m sorry”

Mrs. Jung gave her a smile “It’s okay”

“I’ll go now” Yuri said

“You’re not going to say goodbye to Jessica?” Mrs. Kwon asked “She just went upstairs”

“Ah—I…”

 

“Yul!” Taeyeon called

“Just talk to her, when you get back” Mrs. Jung assured her with a smile

 

Yuri gave her a smile

 

BLACK ORDER

 

“We’ve been actively searching for a month, and we found PSY” Siwon said as PSY’s picture appear on the big screen “One of the highest members of Neptune”

“So what’s his role on the gang?” Yuri asked

“For the past 2 years, he’s cover was a fashion photographer” Siwon explained

“Not bad” Taeyeon said “I wanted to try that, you know taking a picture of y ladies”

“ByunTae” It was Sunny

“The way it looks like, he’s the canceller of the group, the reaper” Siwon said

“So, what’s he up to?” Yuri asked

“John Davis” Siwon said “Wine broker to the ultra rich, died yesterday with no pre-existing condition but Hongkong cops find no evidence of foul play, except his son sees him talking to PSY on a park bench before he died”

“And?” Yuri asked

“We found out that week ago, there’s 2 person died like him,” Siwon said

“It may be a coincidence” Sunny said

“We’ll, that’s what I thought first” Siwon said “Then we found out that all of them died in same circumstances, all rich and all member of C.I.A asset”

“Why they’re targeting them?” Taeyeon asked

“I don’t know” Siwon answered “And one of the camera in airport spotted him”

“Leaving?” Yuri asked, Siwon shook her head

“I got him stepping into a cab, city bound” Sooyoung said, she’s one of their hacker “He didn’t leave, but he took a kit bag, probably from the locker”

“He’s gearing up?” Yuri asked “Preparing?”

 

“I guess so” Siwon answered “because one member of that C.I.A asset is set to arrive at Hongkong tomorrow evening”

“And that’s his next target?” Yuri asked

“That’d be our best guess”

 

The next morning, Yuri took a deep breath, then went out of her car, then presses the door bell in Jung’s mansion

 

FLASHBACK

 

“You’re ready?” Taeyeon asked

“Yeah” Yuri answered

“Did you tell her?” Taeyeon asked

“Huh?” Yuri asked confusedly

“You have a wife, remember”

“I know” Yuri said “but---“

“You left her after your wedding and now you’re planning to leave without saying anything” Taeyeon said “And I know she isn’t really the kind of wife and a wedding you dreamed off, at least show her respect like what you did yesterday”

 

END OF FLASHBACK

 

“Good morning” Yuri greeted on the maid that opened the door “is Jessica he---“

“Yul oppa?” Krystal interrupted, standing behind her

“oppa?” Yuri frown, then she turned around and faced Krystal “Hi.”

 

 

“Wake up, sleepy head” Krystal said as she sat down beside Jessica

But, Jessica didn’t budge

“Someone is waiting for you downstairs” Krystal said as she tapped Jessica’s shoulder

“Can’t you see I’m sleeping?” Jessica uttered not opening her eyes

“I know, but—“ then evil smile formed on Krystal’s face and went out of the room

 

“She’s still sleeping” Yuri said

“We have to leave now” Taeyeon said on the other line

“May I remind you that you’re the one who told m---“

 

“Oppa!” Krystal shouted while going down the stairs

“Op-pa?” Taeyeon asked “did she just call you op—“

“Wait for me” Yuri said, and then ended the call

 

“Did I interrupt something?” Krystal asked

Yuri shook her head “Where is she?”

Krystal just smiled evilly

“No, I-It’s okay” Yuri protested “I-I’ll just call her”

“You’re already here” Krystal said as she continue dragging Yuri into Jessica’s room

“I really, really have to go n---“ But before Yuri couldn’t finish what she’s going to say, Krystal already pushed her inside Jessica’s room

 

“Have a nice talk” Krystal said, and then slammed the door, purposely.

 

“I told you I’m sleeping!” Jessica said in annoyance, she took a pillow, and before she realized that it’s not Krystal, she already threw the pillow at the person

 

Yuri turned around immediately when she heard Jessica

“I—“A pillow hit her face

“I’I-m s-sorry” Jessica said as she stood up from her bed “I thought you—“

Yuri looked at Jessica “It’s al—“then looked away immediately “right. I-I’ll wait for you outside” then went out of the room immediately

 

Jessica sighed, then she turned around and saw her reflection on the mirror, she’s wearing a see-through sando and a short, short

“Krystal, I’m gonna kill you!”

 

‘Kwon Yuri is that the first time, you saw a girl in clothes like that? Why are you getting flustered?’

 

 

“H-hi” Jessica greeted

“Hi.” Yuri greeted back

“I want to apologize for leaving yesterday”

“No, its okay, I understand” Jessica said “How did it go?”

“Actually, that’s one of the reason why I’m here” Yuri said “I have to go to Japan for that”

“Is it bad?” Jessica asked

Yuri shook her head “Just need personal appearance”

“I see” Jessica said “when?”

“Actually now”

“Oh, you didn’t really have to come here and tell me, its fine”

“I know.” Yuri said in all honesty “It’s just… it’s no secret that we both do not want this.”

“I’m sorry.”  Jessica looked down; Yuri won’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for her.

“I didn’t say that to make you feel bad, I also agreed to do this so…”

“Agreeing is actually different from having no choice” Jessica said

“True.” Yuri smiled bitterly “But it doesn’t mean that we should be enemies and not respect each other which is why I’m here. It’s awkward for me to say this but you’re my wife now and I thought you should know”

 

Then an awkward silence

“I-I should probably go”

“Yeah, don’t want make you late” Jessica said with a smile “Thank you for telling me”

Yuri gave her a smile, then turned around and started to walk.

 

“Be careful” Jessica said

Yuri stopped from walking then looked at Jessica “I will”
