CHAPTER 12: DARK PAST

 

“J-Jessica this is S-Sunhwa my friend” Yuri said stuttering as she pointed to Sunhwa who’s smiling flirtingly on Yuri

 

“Wow, friend?” Jessica thought “so, is that how friend act these days and how can she smiled flirtingly like that?!!!

 

“Sunhwa this is Jessica my w---“,

“Her wife.”

“I don’t have any intention to say it out loud, but this girl she’s getting on my nerves!!!” Jessica mentally shouted

 

“A wh--, w-wife???” Sunhwa asked confusedly, looking at Jessica, and then turned to Yuri, who’s been freezing on her spot.

 

“Yes, her wife” Jessica said, emphasizing the word wife

“I-I’m s-sorry” Sunhwa said apologetically then bowed “I-I didn’t know”

 

“Of course you don’t” Jessica said, then faked a smile “and in case you haven’t notice, she’s wearing a wedding ring”

“well, she’s not wearing that ring, last time I saw her” Sunhwa said sarcastically

Yuri gulped really hard, when she feels the tension become worst after what Sunhwa said

Jessica smirked “well, you wouldn’t act like that if you know, right?”

“I w---“, Sunhwa got interrupted

“It’s nice meeting you” Jessica said “but I think we have to go home now”

“S-sure” Sunhwa said “it’s nice meeting you too”

 

Jessica faked a smile “it’s so nice, that I hope it’ll be the last” as she walks out.

Yuri looked at Jessica nervously, and starts to follow her when suddenly Sunhwa grabbed her wrist “you didn’t lost my number, didn’t you?”

“Sorry” Yuri answered

“Well, I can’t blamed you, she’s beautiful” Sunhwa said “but, scary”

“y-yeah”

“Goodluck” Sunhwa said as she let go of Yuri’s wrist

 

 

Jessica stepped outside the car as soon as Yuri turned the engine off, without looking or saying anything to Yuri.

Yuri sighed heavily while looking at Jessica going inside their house

 

 

“I’ll sleep now” Jessica said as she made her way to the stairs

Yuri nodded, as she looked at Jessica

 

“Jessica.”

Jessica stopped from walking, then looked at Yuri

Yuri swallowed really hard, also surprised from what she did “I—ahh---, earl---, I’ve only met her once, and there’s nothing really going on”

“I know…” Jessica answered “she’s a girl you met once, but you become really close, and because you didn’t see each other for ages, she reacted like that… I get it”

“------“, Yuri doesn’t know what to say,

 

Jessica starts to walk again. Yuri let out a sigh and was about to turned around when Jessica called her

“Yuri.”

Yuri looked at her

“Did I step on someone?”

“What do you mean?” Yuri asked confusedly

“We both know, it’s an arrange marriage” Jessica said “so, I want to know, If I took you away from someone, when you choose to marry me”

“I wouldn’t marry you if there was someone else.”

 

 

Yuri kept walking back and forth since she got inside her room “I didn’t do anything wrong… I’m innocent”,

She sighed heavily as she sat down at corner of her bed “It’s Sunhwa not me… I’m the victim here”, she said as she finally lied down on her bad “

“Just sleep it off Yuri” Yuri mumbled “You didn’t do anything wrong, that’s all that matters”,

Yuri nodded trying to convince herself “you didn’t do anything wrong… just sleep it off and tomorrow everything is going to be okay”

With that thought, Yuri went to her dreamland….

 

 

Yuri woke up from the roaring sound of the thunder… she tried to opened the lampshade beside her bed but it won’t open

“Brownout?” Yuri asked herself as she tried to open it again, but no luck.

She took her phone, and looked at the time… 2:10 A.M

She went to their kitchen, took a flashlight and 2 candles from the drawer, for her and Jessica

 

“Jessica” Yuri called in front of Jessica’s room, while holding a candle

“--------“

“Of course she won’t answer” Yuri said as she smiled to herself “she’s a sleepyhead”

Yuri slowly opened the door… and approaches Jessica’s bed…, but in Yuri’s surprised, Jessica wasn’t on the bed…

She placed the candle on the table near Jessica’s bed,

“Jessica?” Yuri called as she looked around at the dark room, using the flashlight

“---------“

She looked at the bathroom’s way “Jessica, you there?” she asked as she walked closer to the bathroom

“--------“

 

After a minute, and after she made sure that Jessica was not in the room, she immediately went out of the room

“Jessica?” Yuri called again, while walking down the stairs

“--------“

“Jessica!!!” Yuri yelled as she walked to their living room, looking around

“Jessi---- Jessica?” Yuri asked unsurely when she saw her, sitting on the floor near the couch, head on her knee….shaking

“What are you doing here?!” Yuri asked as kneel down in front of Jessica

“----------“

 

Yuri gulped, as she slowly extended her hand to touch Jessica “W-what’s wrong?”

“Wha—“

“Ahhhhh!” Jessica screamed, that made Yuri back out a little

“H-hey, it’s me” Yuri said while looking at trembling Jessica

“No!! Please no!” Jessica screamed again

 

Yuri looked at her, she once saw Jessica like this…, and that’s when she left Jessica on mall

 

“Please… s-stop it” Jessica said while crying and hugging herself

“Jessica, It’s Yuri… it’s me” Yuri said as she slowly moving closer to Jessica “I-I won’t hurt you”

 

Jessica finally looked at her

Yuri gave her a smile… “Come here”, Yuri said as she extended her hand to her

 

But, Jessica moved backwards “p-please----D-don’t!!”

“I’m not going to hurt you” Yuri said following Jessica

“Y-you won’t?” Jessica asked still hugging herself

 

Yuri shook her head “I won’t”,

When Yuri noticed that Jessica finally calmed down, she extended her hand, “Come here”

 

Jessica slowly reaching her hand when suddenly “You’re lying!” Jessica yelled as she brushed Yuri’s arm, and stood up to run…

But fortunately Yuri was fast enough to grabbed Jessica’s wrist and hugged her tightly

 

“Get off me!” Jessica screamed, as she tried to break away from Yuri

“I won’t hurt you” Yuri said as she tighten her hug on Jessica

“You’re lying!!!” Jessica screamed,

“Ahh!” Yuri groaned in pain when she felt Jessica’s fingernails piercing through her skin “I’m not lying!”

“N-No… P-P-please no” Jessica begged, still trying to break away from Yuri

“p-please” Jessica begged, now losing her strength to fight

 

When Yuri noticed that Jessica is losing her strength, she loosens her hug

Jessica breathing heavily, catching her breath…

 

“pleas---“, Jessica couldn’t finish what she’s going to say when she blackout and losses her balance

Yuri catches her and carried her on a bridal style and brings her to her room

 

Yuri placed a blanket on Jessica’s body when suddenly, Jessica say something

“P-please, don’t” Jessica said as the tears flowed from her eyes

 

Yuri sat down beside her as she removed the strands of Jessica’s hair and wiped her tears “I’m not going to hurt you. I won’t let anyone” Yuri whispered as she leaned and planted a kiss on Jessica’s forehead

 

Yuri was going to leave when suddenly Jessica grabbed her hand

 

“Please don’t” Jessica mumbled, still holding Yuri’s hand

Yuri looked at Jessica; still sleeping, she was going to take her hands off of her when Jessica say something again

 

“Don’t leave me” Jessica uttered

Yuri looked surprised at Jessica, she stared at her observing if she’s awake or something, she’s definitely sleeping

Yuri hesitated if she’s going to stay or not but Jessica’s holding onto her tightly. She took a deep breath as she lied beside Jessica

 

The next morning,

It was unusual for Jessica to wake up early but to her surprised, she’s not alone in bed. Her hands was on Yuri’s waist hugging her, while resting her head on Yuri’s arm who’s wrapping around her securely

Yuri stirred up from sleeping, blinking her eyes for a moment then felt a weight on her arms… as she looked down and saw Jessica staring at her

Jessica rolled down on the other side

 

“I-ahh” Yuri said as she gets off from bed “I---last night----“, she doesn’t know what to say

“Thank you” Jessica told her with a smile

 

Yuri gave her a smile

“I’m going to my room” Yuri said and was about to walk outside that room when Jessica say something

 

“Aren’t you going to ask?”

Yuri turned to her “I’m willing to wait until you’re ready”

 

“He forced me” Jessica stated as the tears flowed from her eyes

Yuri didn’t say a single word as she rushed to Jessica and hugged her

“H-he r- me” Jessica said as she rested her head on Yuri’s shoulder “Yuri he me”
