The blood was as red as the bricks it was scattered on. There was nothing Youngjae could do but hold his hands on his head, waiting for them to stop kicking, for them to stop punching. All he could do was hold his whimpers and cries, hoping they would just leave.

But they never left until he couldn't stand.

"Hey, leave him alone." A soft voice rang in Youngjae's ears. He sighed with relief when the beatings stopped.

"Who the hell are you?!" The bully yelled at the approaching male.

His brown hair hung softly in his face, the school uniform form fitting on his slender body. "Doesn't matter, just leave him alone." The soft voice came strong, pushing the bully out of the way and leaning down to the beaten male. "Can you walk, Yoo-ssi?" His soft voice seemed to melt away the pain in Youngjae's body.

"I-I can." Youngjae whispered, stopping when he saw the bully push his savior to the ground.

"You can't just come over here and act all tough!" The bully yelled, bringing his foot down on the boy, who simply grabbed the leg and slung the bully to the ground.

"Get out of here, Yoo-ssi!" The soft voice got louder. "If you can walk, you can run!"

Youngjae just nodded, the brick-colored blood spilling past his lips. He had to get out, or he was going to pass out. He dashed out of the area, dodging the grabbing hands of the bully's lackeys. He blinked furiously, not able to see very well without his glasses. He forced the tears away, arriving at his home and falling into the arms of his mother.

Youngjae arrived at school the next week, finally recovered from his bruises and aching bones. He looked everywhere for his savior, the brown hair that hung in his face, the soft facial features, the gentle voice, the slender body. He couldn't find someone that matched, until he had to run an errand into a junior classroom. He walked inside, seeing the savior in the back. His brown hair was in the same style, his lip busted, but he was the same. Youngjae rushed to the back, dropping the books he was supposed to be delivering.

"Thank you." Youngjae whispered, pushing his new glasses further on his nose.

The boy simply looked up and smiled. "I'm glad you're back, Yoo-ssi." He whispered. "Are you okay?"

Youngjae nodded. "I wouldn't have been without you." He bit his lip after he spoke, seeing the boy smile.

"Take care of yourself, okay?" The boy whispered.

"I will do my best." Youngjae replied, bowing a full 90 degrees before scurrying out, handing the book to the teacher. He awkwardly left, glancing at the teacher's confused expression. He stopped, running back in the room and back to the back of the classroom, only to find that boy wasn't there.
