His Wish

I'm a Loner

Chapter 19 – His Wish

December, the month where the days become colder and the days shorter. Soon enough every house within viewing distance would be covered in bright lights, ornaments of all colors, and be completely showered in snow. Everyone loved this month for just that reason. Students loved December because they would get out of school for three whole weeks for winter break without having to show their faces at the prison otherwise known as school. Christmas was a holiday celebrated by all, even if you weren’t Christian. A few days later, the extravagant parties held for New Year’s Day brightened up the lives of everyone in Seoul. Every single person you could possibly think of was excited to see the month of December fly by, all except for one boy.

Jung Yonghwa, a child of winter, absolutely abhorred that month. Every year that month would take an eternity for it to go by. He hated the cold, the parties, the white snow,  and most of all, the day he was born. Many a times he thought that he would have saved the world many troubles if he hadn’t been born. His mother would be in good health and wouldn’t have had to go through the troubles of teenage pregnancy. The cold boy also believed that if he hadn’t been born, he would have been spared the horrors the world had brought him. There was no point in living in a world where its material possessions could not bring him any comfort. Would he still be a cold and rock hearted person had he been born in the summer? Who knows, but the truth was, Yonghwa was like that and there was nothing that would change it.

Those thoughts, however, didn’t affect the affectionate and loving girl that vowed to melt that frozen heart of his. Seohyun cursed the goddess of time that was somewhere in the heavens laughing at her from her throne. Somehow these last two months had gone by agonizingly slow and she could barely wait to see tomorrow come by. The day that the person she loved turned 19 years old had finally come. Tomorrow was the day she would change everything or at least die trying. Even if she failed now, nothing would stop her from trying again.

“He’s not here again…” Seohyun whispered to herself. Every day since the incident, Seohyun had shown up at the swingset every day and waited for Yonghwa for hours. It had been two months already, but he had never once came back to the swingset. Rain or shine, she would wait until 3:00am if she had to, but she waited patiently. None of those times had the boy she loved even walked by. This was just another sign that he had been hurt a lot due to her foolish actions.

“He will be here tomorrow,” Seohyun affirmed to herself confidently. “He has to be here tomorrow.” There was no reason to believe her words other than her sheer determination. In her mind there was no doubt that he would come the next day. Even if that feeling was unfounded, she clung onto it with all the strength she had. Before she could continue cheering herself on the wind whistled loudly through the cold winter night. The midnight sky was covered in a thin layer of clouds that barely let the moon peek its dim light through. Seeing the moon she remembered Min Jung’s Japanese name, Mizuki, the beautiful moon.

“Min Jung, what would you do if you were here? You like Yonghwa too right? If only you were here to get him through this, it wouldn’t be so hard. I’ll stay strong like you wanted me to. I won’t cry and I will be the shoulder Yonghwa can cry on this time.” The moon began to shine its light brightly through the winter clouds as if telling Seohyun that she would be successful. Min Jung was someone that understood Yonghwa well, but Seohyun was sure that nobody in the world loved Yonghwa as much as she did. Wearily she walked through the biting wind and turned her back to the swing that had comforted Yonghwa for all those months.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It was just her luck that she was late on the one day she needed to be early. Her preparations for Yonghwa’s birthday had been flawless for two whole months. Seohyun wanted to let a string of bad words escape , but she just brushed it off. No matter what she would show up and complete her goal. Yonghwa wanted a war didn’t he? Well he was getting one. It was not yet midnight, so technically it was still Yonghwa’s birthday, but there was only a little more than two hours remaining. Hopefully her efforts wouldn’t be in vain and she would get the results she desired.

She embarked on the thirty minute walk that she was determined to make ten. The harsh winter winds dried up and made her lungs work extra hard, but her body didn’t matter. Thankfully, Seohyun was wearing leggings or else the uniform skirt she wore would make it very hard to withstand the weather. For some reason, winter had just started but it was colder than it should have been. Perhaps they would have a colder winter, but she didn’t really know. Where was global warming when you needed it?

“He’s there!” she squeaked to herself when she arrived at her destination. “Okay 10:02pm, perfect! Yonghwa, it’s been a while. Will you still be mad at me?” There was only one way to find out. Seohyun quietly stepped forward, hoping he wouldn’t act in a hostile manner.

“I know it’s you Seohyun, there’s no need to walk like that,” stated Yonghwa without looking back. “You’re the only one who knows about finding me here.”

“Oh, hehe right,” responded the nervous girl. “So um, how have you been?” Seohyun wanted to slap herself at how stupid the question sounded, but there was no going back.

“That’s a rather dumb question don’t you think?” he asked rather quietly. Seohyun could barely hear him over the howling winds and the creaking of the rusty chain the swing was held on. As usual, Yonghwa was barely moving on the swing at all. From a distance, you couldn’t even tell he was moving at all.

“Yeah, sorry, I just realized that myself. Yonghwa can we talk?”

Yonghwa let out a big sigh and continued to stare at the ground in front of him. “About what Seohyun? Are you going to tell me that you aren’t giving up? Are you going to whine about how this was all Uee’s fault again? Seohyun, I thought I told you that I didn’t want anything to do with you anymore.” Seohyun’s blood was boiling at his mocking questions, but if she got mad now, it was all over.

“Is that what you really want Yonghwa? Do you really want me to leave you forever? It would be okay for me to go somewhere where you would never even hear my name anymore?” Seohyun questioned in response. Yonghwa couldn’t hear any fear or anxiety in her voice and was caught a little off guard. He finally raised his eyes and focused them on Seohyun’s stern face.

“If I told you that I wanted that, would you believe me?” Yonghwa questioned back. “What do you think the answer is Seohyun? I want to know what you think.”

“This isn’t about what I think Yonghwa. This is about what you feel. Over these past two months I haven’t spoken to you, I learned so much more than I thought I would. I realized that I was being a naïve and selfish little girl,” Seohyun began to explain. “All I would do is complain about how much things hurt me, but it never occurred to me to think about your feelings. It doesn’t matter what I want, all that matters to me is what you want.”

“Tch, why did you have to go and give a troublesome answer like that?” he asked half-jokingly. “I wasn’t ready for that answer you know. I was expecting you to cry about how it wasn’t okay with you and how you would tie me down to keep me from leaving.”

“To be honest that’s what I want, but we don’t always get what we want. So does this mean we can talk?”

“We’re talking right now aren’t we?” Yonghwa answered once more in a half-joking tone. “It’s been a while since you annoyed me, so I’ll let it pass for now.”

“Look I don’t even know where to begin Yonghwa. There’s so much I want to say, but it won’t come out of my mouth. I have no idea how to even start to tell you all that I have inside me,” Seohyun admitted. Yonghwa didn’t drop his stare at all throughout the conversation. It made her feel a little better than he was finally acknowledging her presence.

“Seohyun, mind if I talk first?” he asked, catching her off guard. “I’m… I’m sorry I’ve been such an lately. I’m sorry I’ve been acting like I was happy and nice to you. I was doing that on purpose since I knew it would make you feel worse than if I yelled at you.”

“Ugh, you jerk…” Seohyun mumbled playfully.

“I guess it was also a way for me to deal with the problems going on inside me. Looking back at it, I was the one being childish. I always preached about not being petty and childish, but in the end that’s what I was doing. Do you think you can forgive me?” Seohyun felt the true feeling of apology coming from Yonghwa’s words. He was once again dropping his pride, but it wasn’t the same as when he did it in front of Uee. Even though he was dropping his pride, his words didn’t incite pity in her.

“Of course I can, it’s my fault that you had to deal with that in the first place,” Seohyun replied happily. She honestly hadn’t thought it would be so easy, but she wasn’t going to complain. “Can you forgive me for doing that to you? I know there’s no explanation for why I did it, but I really didn’t mean any harm. It wasn’t until a few weeks later than I realized what I was doing.”

“Yeah, don’t worry about it. You did me a favor by getting me away from that evil witch. It hurt me so much to hear someone that I loved for 10 years tell me that you know?” Yonghwa asked in a shaky voice. It was the same shaky voice he had in front of her when the phone incident came to a close. “I really was a fool for believing that Uee was still a good person. Like she said, it that the smartest person in the school couldn’t even see through her little act.”

“It’s not your fault. Yonghwa, don’t beat yourself up about it. Love makes you believe and do stupid things,” Seohyun comforted. If only Yonghwa knew she was speaking from experience. She had all the determination in the world, but it still wasn’t enough to get her to confess.

“I don’t know Seohyun, I really don’t. I’m just glad that I don’t have anything to do with Uee anymore. I mean, it’s her loss right?” he joked to dispel the gloomy atmosphere he was creating.

“Yeah, it’s definitely her loss,” Seohyun joked back. After her last joke, Yonghwa didn’t respond and continued to lightly sway on the swing. Seohyun listened to the rusty links creak as she stared up at the dark sky. If only there hadn’t been a thick layer of clouds, the stars and moon could light up the freezing night.

“Can I tell you something Seohyun?” Yonghwa finally spoke up to break the silence. “I’ve never told anyone anything like this before, but there’s a first time for everything right?” His question made her heart speed up. Deep, deep down in her heart she wished it was a confession coming from him, but her brain new better than to believe such foolishness.

“Uh, yeah you can tell me anything,” she responded nervously.

“You know what hurt me more than Uee’s words? I didn’t realize it until that morning I saw you and her arguing. It… I… um… hehe, why is this so hard?” he laughed nervously. “Well, Seohyun, I…”

“Just spit it out Yonghwa, I don’t have all night to hear you stutter,” Seohyun teased.

“Ithurtmetohaveyoubetrayme,” Yonghwa blurted out quickly. Seohyun made out a few words, but she couldn’t understand a thing he just said. A confusing glance directed towards him caused him to sigh and begin to speak again. “It was more painful for you to have lied to me. At first I felt like Uee’s rejection hurt, but when I thought about what you did I felt like crying.”

“Yonghwa…”

“I had never felt like that before. I really wanted to grab something and throw it out a window whenever I thought about how you lied to me. I’m not mad about it now, but I was really upset about it at the time. Do you know why I felt like that? Even I don’t know what that was.” Seohyun was left completely speechless.

“Uh… I don’t know what to say…” she mumbled in response.

“Yeah, neither do I. Seohyun, is it okay for me to trust you again? Can I put my faith in you once more in hope that you won’t hurt me anymore?” Yonghwa asked tenderly. There was a weakness in his voice that made Seohyun want to burst into tears. Luckily, her rock hard resolve was keeping her afloat in the awkward situation.

“Yonghwa, I promise to never hurt you again like that. You’ve been there to save me so many times, but I haven’t done anything for you once. If you let me, I’ll be the shoulder you can cry on in the future. I swear on my life and the friendship I have for you that I will never hurt you like that again,” Seohyun answered confidently. Her goal had been achieved much more completely than she had imagined. Yonghwa had fallen, just as he expected him to. However, even Seohyun couldn’t imagine him falling that hard.

“So you’ll… be there for me whenever I need you? You’ll be someone I can call even at 2:00am in an alley to beat up three gangsters 3 to 1 for me?” the almost crying boy joked. “Can I really trust you to be that kind of person for me? Seohyun you don’t know how badly I want to trust you again, but I’m really afraid. I’ve experienced all kinds of pain in my life, but the pain I felt when you lied to me almost tore me apart.” The vulnerability in his voice was undeniable. The incredible and awe-inspiring Jung Yonghwa was being reduced to being as weak as a five year old child that missed his mother.

“I’ll never do that again! I swear it,” Seohyun yelled assertively.

“Mind giving me a push on the swing?” he asked happily. Seohyun looked at his face and saw the first real smile on Yonghwa’s face. It wasn’t a smirk or one of those faked smiles he wore lately. It was a true, genuine, smile of happiness. Was he really that happy to have her back?

“Yeah,” Seohyun squeaked. “I can do that.” She dropped the item on her back and the bag in her hands to push her love. Slowly but surely, the swing was moving higher and higher off the ground. Finally, the swing Yonghwa had sat in so many days since he was in elementary school was lifting off the ground. For the first time since he was 8 years old, the swing made its way into the sky. Yonghwa’s feelings of hate, rate, sadness, and depression weighed him down so much that the swing refused to move more than a few centimeters. Now that those weights had been shed, the swing was more than happy to allow him to soar into the winter sky.

Once Yonghwa was satisfied with having swung to the highest point he let himself jump off the swing and land gracefully on the floor in front of him. “You know that was the first time I’ve ever swung that high. Thanks for the push,” he happily thanked. It was a little strange to see Yonghwa so happy, but it wasn’t as strange as he had been when he was faking it. “What’s all that stuff?”

Seohyun turned around to see the few things she had brought behind her. “Oh crap! I totally forgot about that stuff. Turn around and don’t look. I’ll tell you when you can see the stuff.”

“Alright…”

Seohyun picked up the bag she carried in her right hand all the way from home and took out a few small objects. “Alright you can turn around now.” Once Yonghwa turned around he was met with a tiny, bright light. In Seohyun’s hands was a miniscule cake with a brightly shining candle on it. “Saengil chukhahae Yonghwa! Happy Birthday!”

“How did you know it was my birthday?” he growled. “Aish, it was probably my mom wasn’t it?”

“Hey, this is a special occasion so don’t be a party pooper.”

“What’s so special about a day like this? It’s cold, dark and gloomy. I hate this day and there is nothing that will ever get me to enjoy such a crappy day,” Yonghwa complained in his old voice. It was a little annoying that he was being that way, but Seohyun was glad to have the old Yonghwa back.

“You know I’m not going to give up, so just deal with it,” Seohyun spat back. “Yonghwa, this day isn’t bad at all. Well, for me at least. I know you’re going to just call me weird, but I’ll say it anyway. Don’t hate this day anymore. For me this day is more important than my own birthday. On this day, you were born and there is nothing that I am thankful for more than that. Thanks for being born Yonghwa.”

“You are weird, but thanks…” he thanked sincerely. “It’s a little strange to thank someone for being born, but I appreciate it.”

“Go ahead and blow out the candle, I don’t want my cake to get ruined,” Seohyun teased. Fortunately, Yonghwa didn’t seem to be angry anymore and he made his way towards the girl holding the only light in the darkness. “Make a wish too.”

Yonghwa made his way towards the cake, not peeling his eyes off of Seohyun while doing so. When he finally reached her, he gave her a gentle gaze that she was too oblivious to notice. “Just like this small candle lighting and warming up this chilly December night… I hope Seohyun can be someone like that for me. I don’t know why, but I feel compelled to trust her. Is it stupid of me to do so? Probably, but I don’t care. I wish that Seohyun will become someone like this small candle for the rest of my life. Seohyun will you grant me my wish? Even after this candle goes out, will you still light my path for me?”

Once he was done telling the wish spirits his desire, he let a gust of air escape his lungs and put out the candle. The darkness he had been in before she arrived was no longer around him. Even if there was no light to help him see, he knew he had a beacon of light right in front of him. Once the candle was put out, Seohyun raised her hands to clap excitedly, dropping the cake in the process. Had it not been for Yonghwa’s lighting reflexes, the cake would surely have made a splat on the soil in front of them.

“Pabo! You can’t clap if you’re holding the freaking cake!” Yonghwa yelled at the excited girl. “Ugh, I don’t even know why I let you go through with this.”

“Hehe, sorry, I totally forgot I was holding the cake…” Seohyun shyly apologized.

“What did you have on your back a while back?” Yonghwa asked while staring at the small cake. It didn’t look like a store would make such a small cake so he assumed she had baked it herself.

“Oh, turn around again and I’ll let you see it.” The still annoyed person turned around reluctantly, allowing Seohyun to prepare her next ‘event’ for his birthday. “Alright turn around!”

“You play the guitar?” he asked disbelievingly. Seohyun was standing in front of him with a pink guitar strapped on and ready to play. She sat in the swing that Yonghwa never allowed her to sit in and readied her hands to start playing.

“Not really. When my brother was still around he really liked to play the guitar and I got curious. He tried to teach me, but since I was really annoying he stopped trying. He gave me this guitar for my 12th birthday and I never really played it since,” she admitted.

“Ha, then what the heck do you expect to do with something you haven’t even touched for years?”

“Do you have to ruin everything? Over these past two months I’ve been practicing until my fingers bled. I know how much you would have hated for me to buy you a present so I worked extra hard to give you this gift. I hope you like it. Well, here goes nothing…” The strings on the guitar started vibrating as Seohyun nervously played them. Yonghwa stared at her expectantly and kept all comments to himself until after he heard her play her song.

(The song Seohyun is playing is called Winter Child by Suzy from Miss A. Blah blah blah Seohyun didn’t write it, it belongs to whatever Korean dude wrote it a billion years ago, yada yada yada. Anyways, here’s a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHHnlwABVh0 )

Born in the winter, beautiful you.

Clean like snow,  you who belongs to me.
Born in the winter, loveable you.

Clear like snow. You who belongs to me.
Regardless whether its spring, summer, autumn, or winter.
Always clear and clean.

Seohyun finally peeled her eyes off her hands and focused her attention on the person she wrote her song for. Yonghwa, still holding onto the cake stared back intensely, but it was not a hostile look. It was more of a look that asked ‘What just happened?’ Seohyun didn’t know whether to speak first or let him speak, but she was definitely worried about what he thought of the song.

“Did you... write that yourself?” he managed to ask.

“Hehe, yeah I didn’t know what else to give you since I didn’t really want to buy anything. I thought that this would work out just fine. If the parts where I say you belong to me or that you’re lovable are weird I can take them out and sing it again!” Seohyun cried defensively. In her head it all looked like it would work out fine, but in practice it seemed a little strange.

“No…” Yonghwa responded in his still surprised tone. “You don’t have to take those out. I… I really liked the song. Seohyun, I don’t know what to say to you right now. I’m trying to form words in my head right now, but I feel like I’m frozen.”

“Don’t say anything,” Seohyun ordered. Even if Yonghwa had been able to form words, he couldn’t anymore after what Seohyun did next. Soon enough, he had a warm sensation covering his entire body. When he finally realized what was going on, he saw Seohyun giving him a hug. Even she was surprised about how bold she was being, but it didn’t matter to her. “Yonghwa, I’m so serious about wanting you by my side again that it hurts. I’ll keep my promise this time as long as you can trust me. I know I hurt you, but I won’t do it again.”

“Seohyun…”

“I told you not to talk,” she cut him off in a defensive voice. “I know you’ll think it’s weird that I’m so attached to you, but I don’t mind. I don’t mind that you yell at me all the time and call me names. It wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t do that.” Yonghwa noticed that as she spoke, the hug became tighter and tighter, but strangely enough it wasn’t uncomfortable. “Don’t hate yourself for being born Yonghwa. After today, I never want to see you wishing you weren’t born. Even if you think there is no reason for you to be here, I don’t believe that.”

“What is it that you believe is my reason for being here?” he asked hesitantly.

Seohyun wanted nothing more to confess her love for him at that instant, but it was too soon. Yonghwa had just forgiven her and he probably wouldn’t appreciate a confession at that moment. “I don’t know if it’s what the gods intended, but you’re here to be my friend. It sounds stupid I know, but that’s a damn good reason for me. You are someone so special Yonghwa, that I can’t think of a world without you in it.”

Seohyun looked up when she felt a drop of water hit her face from above. Just a few inches above her face was Yonghwa’s face, only his was covered in tears. Once again, she was seeing Yonghwa cry, this time it was different though. The first two times she saw him cry were out of sadness. This time the tears were obviously different to her, they were tears of happiness.

“I… Seohyun… thanks…” he muttered through his sobs. “Sorry for being such a baby about this, but I can’t control my body.” Seohyun smiled at him lovingly and began to pull away from him. Just as he felt her warmth leave his body, he forcefully brought her closer to him. “It’s cold, don’t leave yet.” Had it been bright outside, Yonghwa would have seen Seohyun’s deep red blush.

After what seemed like a few hours, Yonghwa finally let Seohyun go free from his strong grip. “Are you feeling better now Yonghwa?” she asked concernedly.

“Yeah, I’m good,” he replied with a small smile. Yonghwa wiped his eyes with the sleeve on his jacket and proceeded to throw on his angry face like he always did. After all, Yonghwa wouldn’t be Yonghwa if he wasn’t angry. “If you tell anyone about this, I’ll make you wish you didn’t come out here to find me.”

“Pabo…” she giggled. “I knew you were a softie under that rock hard shell of yours. Don’t worry, everything will go back to being the same way. I won’t treat you any differently than I did before.”

“Yeah you better not. Remember how I messed up those Japanese guys in that alley? Well the same things will happen to you if you talk about this again,” he threatened jokingly.

“Yonghwa, I know we’re joking right now, but I was serious about what I said. I told this to your mom, and I’ll say it to you:

‘The world gives us less and less to smile about as we grow older. However, you have had nothing to smile about even as a child. I promise I’ll be a reason for you to smile. As long as I live, I will keep that promise.’

You’ll let me keep that promise right?”

“You’ve become quite the poet haven’t you Seohyun? I think you’ve been watching too many dramas in your spare time. Maybe you should go get your grades up instead of wasting your time,” Yonghwa continued to joke. “Don’t worry, I’ll let you do your own thing. I’m not promising you that I’ll be able to change overnight, but I won’t act like I have been these past few weeks.”

“Thanks. Now, let’s go get something to eat this cake with,” Seohyun chimed in happily. She had gotten her wish and more. At first she only wanted to get his forgiveness for her sins against him. Seohyun had no idea he would be so open about his feelings to her. Maybe he had held them in far too long for him to deal with anymore and he had to let it all out. Either way all that mattered now was that she could be next to him again.

“Go home Seohyun,” he ordered sternly. “You’ve done enough for tonight and I want to be alone for a bit longer.”

“What about the cake? I don’t want to have baked it for nothing. Are you looking down on my cake because it’s little?” Seohyun cried in defense of the small pastry.

“No it’s not about your cake. I know you want to be here for me, but there are things I have to figure out on my own. I’m sure you can understand. Comon, I’ll walk you home. It’s the least I can do for you right now,” he offered. It was every girl’s dream, or at least Seohyun's, to be walked home by the person they liked from school, so Seohyun wasn’t going to argue.

“Arasso, let me finish packing the cake up and we can go,” she agreed unwillingly. After a bit of fumbling in the dark, Seohyun finally was ready to take her place beside Yonghwa to head home. Just like old times, she walked with a happy bounce in her step while he walked slowly with his hands in his pockets. It was refreshing for her to be back to the place where they had left off in their relationship.

“You’re awfully quiet tonight,” Yonghwa pointed out. “Usually you’re really annoying whenever we walk anywhere together.”

“Well, it’s your birthday so I can’t be annoying right?” she reasoned. “Why? Do you want me to talk to you?”

“Go for it. It would be weird if you didn’t. I’m sure you’re dying to keep that mouth of yours running,” he pointed out mockingly.

“Oh! I forgot to tell you about the party,” Seohyun eagerly began. “Seung Ri is having a huge New Year’s party and he’s pretty much inviting everyone. He said I could invite everyone I wanted so he can’t say anything about it.” Yonghwa stopped in his tracks and glared at Seohyun just as he had in the past.

“You really think I want to go to a party that Seung Ri is hosting? You do realize that Uee, his freakin sidekick, will be there as well right?” he pointed out bitterly. “Forget it, count me out. I wouldn’t go even if you paid me.”

“Comon, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?” Seohyun begged cutely. “It will be fun and I invited all my friends too. I know you don’t like Uee and Seung Ri, but comon, at least think about it.”

“You’re really going to abuse this whole relationship aren’t you? Ugh, I’ll go but as soon as one thing goes wrong, I’m out, no questions asked,” Yonghwa grudgingly agreed.

“Yay! You won’t be disappointed. It will be fun, I promise. He does this every year and there has never been a problem. You said you’ve never been to a party so it will be a new experience,” she pointed out. Yonghwa grunted in response, which Seohyun took as further agreement, and continued his walk towards the rich neighborhood she lived in.

“Well, this is as far as I go tonight,” he stated upon reaching the gates to the neighborhood. “I’m sure your neighbors or parents won’t appreciate me going in there so I’m heading home. Sorry I can’t go all the way to your house, but I’m sure you understand.”

“I’ll see you later then. We’ll talk about the party in more detail once the day gets closer. Get back home safely,” she wished with a smile. Seohyun turned away from him and began her walk towards the extravagant building she called her home. Yonghwa quietly waited for her to disappear into the shadows before heading his way. Before he headed out, he felt a cold object graze his cheeks.

“Snow…” Yonghwa mumbled. It had been years since it had snowed on his birthday, but he hadn’t complained until now. “Good thing that little girl is gone or else she would have gone crazy over this stuff.” Unlike years past, Yonghwa calmly walked through the snow and enjoyed seeing the white substance fall from the sky. “What a drag… now I’m even enjoying this snowfall? Seohyun, what the hell did you do to me?”
