How I first came to love you.

"H-Hello. I am Cho Kyuhyun. Please treat me kindly." A young boy who introduced himself as Cho Kyuhyun stuttered. The Super Junior members stared, eyes glossed over coldly. They couldn't help but despise this person. Although they did not know him, although he did no wrong, they couldn't help their emotions. There were already 12 members in Super Junior, why must a 13th be added? Were they really that useless? Did the company really believe they'd fail?

Not a word was spoken as Kyuhyun was quickly directed by his manager to follow him, disappearing behind a door which was quickly closed. While all the Super Junior members couldn't hide their dissatisfaction, Lee Donghae, in some way, reacted differently compared to the others. Once the younger had entered the room, once Donghae had taken a look at Kyuhyun, it seemed like the whole world stopped. Time stood still. His skin was so pale, even more pale than Heechul. Didn't this boy go in the Sun at all? He was tall, taller than most of the Super Junior members. His lips were shaded a pretty pink, not that they were the most impressive pair of lips in the world. But still, it made Donghae feel dizzy. This utterly beautiful boy was going to become part of Super Junior? Donghae felt his breath hitch just slightly, Leeteuk noticed right away.

"Donghae?" Leeteuk questioned with widened eyes, his voice giving a suspicious ring. Donghae was quickly pulled out of his trance as he turned to his hyung.

"Y-Yeah?" Donghae stuttered in surprise, the others simply stared at him.

"Don't tell me..." Sungmin began, trailing off slightly. Donghae stared in a somewhat defensive way.

"W-What is it?" Donghae stuttered once again, the others didn’t bother to say anything. They could tell by the look in their member’s eyes, the look which they hadn’t seen in a while. So, because this was Donghae, none of them said anything.

"Nothing, never mind."

The obvious and the oblivious.

Soon, after Kyuhyun joined Super Junior, Donghae was the first one to welcome him. Although many of the other super Junior members had a hard time becoming used to Kyuhyun, Donghae had no trouble with it. Their new maknae, not knowing anyone, needed someone to depend on. Kyuhyun needed a guardian, comeone to guide him through and help him with the up and downs on life. Donghae, being able to take this role happily and without hesitation, almost instantly took the position as Donghae’s favourite hyung. It was almost a guarantee that whatever happened, Donghae would be the first person that Kyuhyun would approach.

Through this process, Donghae and Kyuhyun became inseperable. They were attached at the hip, not that many people knew it. For some reason, the Super Junior members tended to keep Kyuhyun at a distance from Donghae. The elder never knew why, and the maknae was seemingly oblivious to it. Whenever Donghae asked, they simply brushed it off, acting as if they had no idea. But they did know, and that was why they did not allow Kyuhyun and Donghae to stand so close. Donghae was also one for skinship, and Kyuhyun never minded. Their 'fan service' would have gone past the line of acceptable. Well, at least that's how Leeteuk put it.

Donghae never told the other Super Junior members of his attraction to Kyuhyun. But then again, he didn't need to. All of them could see his attachment to the younger, the protectiveness of it all. It was obvious, so obvious that the members would sometimes question if Kyuhyun was simply pretending not to know. But then again, that was highly unlikely. They knew to some point, Kyuhyun was an oblivious child. He wasn't really able to pick up on those sort of things. No matter how Donghae would treat him, taking care of him well, Kyuhyun never seemed to think any different of his hyung.

Donghae wasn’t sure what happened on that tragic day in April, all he knew was that it hurt. Before everything, before the blackness came into his mind and before the excruciating pain in his heart after hearing the situation, he remembered talking to Kyuhyun in the dorm alongside Leeteuk, Shindong and Eunhyuk. The last thing he remembered was Kyuhyun’s bright, smiling face, as beautiful as always. He remembered waving to the others before seeing them leave to host a radio show, anticipating their return, Kyuhyun's return.

Little did he know, none of them were going to return.

Not then anyway.

Donghae groaned, quickly running into the hospital. His eyes widened, darting around the place. Kyuhyun, Kyuhyun, Kyuhyun... Where was he? Was he alright? The doctors quickly directed the Super Junior members towards the room which Kyuhyun was in. Donghae finally found the maknae, lying in bed. He wasn't moving, he seemed to be still. Donghae's eyes widened. The elder attempted to go towards him, but his feet were stuck to the floor. Kyuhyun was connected to some sort of machine, that was the only thing keeping him alive. He looked so deathly pale, even though Kyuhyun was naturally like that. All the colour, it had faded from his cheeks.

Donghae cursed out loud and groaned, the pain had gotten to him. With tearing eyes, he then heard footsteps. It was Eunhyuk. The person who ran to the maknae despite the injuries, dropping to his knees and holding his hand. The person who prayed right beside Kyuhyun. For Kyuhyun. Donghae clenched his jaw, why did he have to be so weak? Why couldn't he be like Eunhyuk, why couldn’t he even be there for the maknae? Why couldn’t he be there for Kyuhyun, the person he loved so much?

Eunhyuk walked towards Donghae, giving him a tight hug. He began crying as well. Everyone was crying. Their maknae couldn't die. They had grown to love him so much, he was part of Super Junior, their family.

Please.

The future and the truth.

"We're giving you some time, so you better use it well." Kangin whispered into Donghae's ear suddenly, the younger widened his eyes as he turned. They all gave him a smile and a slight wink, retreating into another direction. All the Super Junior members had seemed to devised a plan.

"Hyung..." Donghae muttered hesitantly, unsure of what to do. They gave him a light pat on the back.

"Come on guys, let's go this way." Leeteuk called, the rest of the members followed along. Kyuhyun turned, giving a questioning look.

"Where are you guys going?" Kyuhyun asked.

"We just have something to do. You guys just head to the car without us." Eunhyuk quickly spoke, running away in an oddly suspicious way. Kyuhyun stared at them before looking back at Donghae.

"Hm, okay then. Donghae hyung, hurry up." Kyuhyun quickly said, not bothering to suspect anything. All the members of Super Junior were odd anyway, so he didn't really think it mattered to much about how they were acting. Donghae nodded, following the younger to the car.

"..." Donghae felt his heart beginning to race, chest tightening. His hyungs had gone, giving him the chance to confess, what was he to do? Donghae bit his lower lip.

“Hyung, if I ended up dying, would you have cried over me?” Kyuhyun asked suddenly, causing Donghae to quickly turn his head. The elder stared.

“…Why are you asking this question?” Donghae asked in a hesitant manner, Kyuhyun shrugged as he let out a low sigh. The maknae stopped in his tracks, simply standing next to the other.

“I just want to know.” Kyuhyun muttered.

“…” Donghae wasn't sure of what to say.

“When I was lying on the road after the car had crashed, my life flashed before my eyes. My past, my present, and even my future, I saw it all.” Kyuhyun said, beginning to walk once again, Donghae copied the younger's actions.

“You’re future?” Donghae asked with interest, Kyuhyun nodded.

“Yeah, my future. Things that I haven’t even experienced yet. I saw it all." Kyuhyun whispered, Donghae watched as Kyuhyun stopped once again, a wistful look in his eyes.

“…” Donghae couldn't help but become entranced by the other's beauty.

“I feel that something blessed me, something which let me live.” Kyuhyun continued, Donghae raised a brow.

“And what was that?” Donghae questioned with curiosity, wanting to know. Kyuhyun stared at Donghae for a brief second, quickly turning away before biting his bottom lip.

“…When I saw my future, it was weird.” Kyuhyun uttered, completely skipping over Donghae's question. The elder stared with slight annoyance. Though, since the maknae had just come out of the hospital, Donghae simply brushed it odd and continued the conversation.

“How?” Donghae asked, Kyuhuyn breathed deeply.

“…You.” Kyuhyun muttered, causing Donghae to raise a brow at the other.

“Huh?” Donghae questioned.

“You were there. You were always there.” Kyuhyun repeated, th other couldn't undrstand.

“…” Donghae went silent, eyes widened. He wasn't sure how to react, of what to say. Thus, he chose silence.

“In my future that flashed before my eyes, we were one. We were together. We were lovers. You would kiss me a lot, hug me and wipe away my tears every time I cried.” Kyuhyun muttered, every word he was speaking was true. When the maknae saw his life, he was surprised. Donghae was always with him, and they were so happy together. Donghae widened his eyes, quickly looking down.

“…Does that mean…?” Donghae was hesitant to speak.

“When I was lying in that hospital bed, you’re all I could think about. I missed you. When I thought about it, the future… The fact that if I died, I wouldn’t be able to experience it… You’re probably the only reason I survived. Well, besides my father, and my family, and the fans, and the other Super Junior members.” Kyuhyun let out a humourless laugh, light and fragile. The possibility that death had visited him and almost taken the maknae away, Donghae felt his chest tightening. But he hardly even noticed due to the shock he received from Kyuhyun's words.

“…” Donghae was stunned, what did Kyuhyun's words mean? Was that... possibly... a confession?

“Thinking about it now, I’m so grateful to be living. I’m also grateful for seeing my future. I’ll admit it now, I love you. But I was unsure of everything, but after seeing how happy we were, I want to experience it. I don’t want to waste another minute thinking of the ‘what if’s. I know that they’ll be a couple problems, but I don’t care.” Kyuhyun whispered, voice and eyes filled with hope.

“…” As Donghae continued not to say anything, Kyuhyun began to freeze up. Panic and fear, for what if what he saw was wrong? What if Donghae didn't return his emotions? What if Kyuhyun was being an idiot? With these doubtful thoughts, the maknae his eyes suddenly become wet with tears.

“Don’t just stare at me, talk Donghae, say something!” Kyuhyun exclaimed in a cry, somewhat impatient and annoyed about the fact Donghae was simply looking at him. Once Kyuhyun said those words, Donghae finally was able to fully understand the situation, letting go of his shock. Silently, Donghae wiped away the maknae's tears.

“Ah! Kyuhyunnie, don’t cry, please.” Donghae mumbled, Kyuhyun shook his head, eyes becoming red.

“I’ve just told you my feelings, what do you want me to do?! You’re supposed to tell me your feelings now!” Kyuhyun cried in annoyance, wiping his tears away from his face.

"Okay okay, Kyuhyun, I love you too. I always did, ever since you joined Super Junior." Donghae whispered, finally revealing his true emotions. Kyuhyun's eyes widened, tears finally stopping.

"...Really? Why didn't you ever tell me?" Kyuhyun asked, breathing almsot reaching a normal pace. Donghae smiled.

"Well, I wasn't sure if you loved me back." Donghae replied, causing Kyuhyun to hit him on the arm.

"You would have saved me so much time." Kyuhyun spoke in a hushed voice, cheeks becoming just a little pink. Donghae let out a laugh. He stared at Kyuhyun, wanting, needing a kiss.

Slowly, attempting to create a mood. But Kyuhyun really didn't seem to notice, he simply continued to dry his reddened eyes. Donghae cupped Kyuhyun's cheek, causing their eyes to meet each other's. The maknae stared for a second, eyes widening once he had caught on. The elder muted a hiss, remembering the height difference. It was probably the thing Donghae hated the most about himself. Carefully, Donghae tugged on Kyuhyun's shirt, causing Kyuhyun to bend his knees a little.

Finally, they were able to kiss.

Oh, the first Haekyu/Kyuhae fic on this~ ^^ Sorry I haven't updated much, I'm busy preparing for an entrance exam to another school (not that I really want to go, my parents are making me -_-). Anyway, how was the story?~ ^^
