"Hankyung."

"Youngjae."

"I missed you so much, where have you been?"

"I was just at the corner shop."

"Why?"

"Because I wanted to get you something."

"And why did you want to get me something?"

"Because I love you. Pabo."

"Don't call me a pabo, I love you too."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hankyung sighed heavily as he walked down the isles in the store, looking for nothing in particular, but buying whatever he thought was necessary. His eyes glazed over the other items, then touching his wallet. Hankyung nodded to himself, remembering that he didn't bring that much money for him. Thus, he began heading for the cashier. Hankyung didn't pay much attention to him, simply putting his items on the counter.

"How are you today?" Asked the cashier, the usual thing for them to say. After all, the cashier didn't seem to give any emotion in his voice at all besides the clear sound of annoyance.

"Good." Hankyung answered one-wordly, not bothering to look up as he was too busy putting his items out for the cashier.

"Is this all you would like?" The cashier asked, another usually thing for them to say.

"Yes." Hankyung answered once again, with another single word. He heard beeping as the items were scanned, Hankyung then took out his wallet and looked to hceck he had enough money.

"...Okay, that comes to a total $21 and 35c." The cashier muttered. Only now did Hankyung actually realise how low and melodious the cashier's voice was. He looked up, his eyes widening with the sight of the cashier. It was just so similar. So similar... to his dead lover.

"..." Hankyung stayed silent as he simply stared at the cashier, causing the other to glare slightly. The cashier let out a slow growling sound, wondering what was taking the customer so long. So, having the somewhat short temper he had, the cashier snapped.

"Are you stupid or just not paying attention? I said $21 and 35c. Pay up." The cashier said with another clearly annoyed tone of voice. As soon as he spoke those words, Hankyung snapped out of his temporary trance.

"S-Sorry, I was thinking..." Hankyung stuttered. The cashier glared slightly, but it soon faded into some sort of amused smile. Hankyung handed the cashier the amount of money.

"That doesn't answer any of my questions, but it'll do." The cashier muttered, placing the items into a bag.

"..." Hankyung nodded silently.

"Thank you for the service, goodbye." The cashier spoke, handing Hankyung his bag. Hankyung bowed slightly.

"Goodbye." Hankyung muttered back. But just before he left, the cashier asked him a random question.

"...Are you... Are you Chinese by any chance?" The cashier asked, Hankyung turned his head to stare at the man.

"Yes, how did you know?" Hankyung asked with a somewhat dazed expression. The cashier stared at Hankyung with another amused look. A type of look which Hankyung had never seen before.

"Besides the way you look, you're Chinese accent just sticks out so badly." The cashier told Hankyung, causing the Chinese man to become somewhat self-conscious.

"..." Hankyung stared in silence, the cashier laughed and gave the other a kind smile. Hankyung felt himself become just a bit shy.

"Don't worry, practice makes perfect. You're korean is actually very good." The cashier complimented the other. Hankyung smiled back.

"Thank you."

"Zai Jian." The cashier smiled as he waved.

"Zai Jian... Wait, what?" Hankyung stopped in surprise. The cashier actually spoke some Chinese.

"I talk a little Chinese, but I'm trying to learn more. If I see you again one day, then I'll definitely show you how much I've improved." The cashier smiled back at the other.

Hankyung couldn't help but think how adorable the cashier just a little.

"...I look forward to it."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple days later, Hankyung was looking through the library for books (mainly books to study Korean, but there's no way he would admit that). As he looked at the books, a familiar face popped up at the very same library, in the very safe section. Hankyung stared wide eyed at the person in front of him, who was equally shocked, the cashier from the other day.

"...It's you." The cashier muttered, looking different than before. Maybe it was just his clothes that gave himself more character, because last time Hankyung saw him, he was wearing the clothes given by the store.

"...I didn't expect to see you again. Ever." Hankyung muttered. Yes, he didn't expect to ever see the cashier again. But that didn't mean he didn't want to see the cashier again.

"Me neither."

"Why are you here?"

"The same reason I think you're here, to read books." The cashier replied smartly.

"Really, what type?" Hankyung asked, he really didn't understand why he felt the need to continue on a conversation when there was not really anything to say to each other.

"Chinese studying books. And I'm guessing you're here for some Korean studying books."

"..." Hankyung stayed silent, the other smirked.

"So I'm right." The cashier muttered with a somewhat smug look.

"...Yeah." Hankyung said with a defeated sigh, the other simply laughed.

And just like that, they stopped speaking to each other. They instead searched for books to read. Hankyung didn't know why, but he wanted to speak to the cashier so much. Okay, maybe he did know... but there was no way he was going to admit it. With a rather defeated sigh, not knowing how to start another conversation, Hankyung attempted to leave. But it seemed that the casher called him.

"Wait." The cashier muttered muttered quietly, only audible enough for Hankyung to hear. The other's heart raced when he heard he was being called.

"What is it?" Hankyung asked, the cashier bit his lip.

"...I-I never learnt your name." The cashier spoke in a somewhat shy way, different from the way he had been talking for the rest of the time. Hankyung stifled a smile from his lips.

"...It's Hankyung. Or, if you prefer, Hangeng."

"Hankyung... Hangeng gege..." The cashier mumbled, sliding of his tongue and leaving a lingering sensation. Hankyung loved the way it sounded when the cashier spoke his name.

"What's your name?" Hankyung asked.

"Kyuhyun. Cho Kyuhyun. But in Chinese it's Guixian." Kyuhyun smiled at the other.

"Kyuhyun, Guixian, I hope to see you again." Hankyung smiled.

"Hmm..." Kyuhyun nodded as Hankyung turned away. But something went through Hankyung's mind that made him stay.

"Actually, what's your number?" Hankyung asked.

"..." Kyuhyun stayed silent for a second, quickly whipping out his phone to find out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And like that, life became sweet. Asking for Kyuhyun's number on that fateful day was probably Hankyung's best decision. It was the best decision he had ever made in his life. He and Kyuhyun were officially an item. Together for most hours of the day. Constantly they would communicate through texting, phone calls and through the internet. Hankyung had to admit, he really liked Kyuhyun. But, he wasn't sure whether it was 'love' yet.

Kyuhyun and Youngjae were so different. They looked similar, but their personalities weren't identic. For example, Youngjae's personality was soft and gentle. He was graceful, as if he walked on the air itself. Youngjae was somewhat frail... and that's why he died of a sickness... He was shy and never admitted his feelings to people. To be honest, it seemed like Youngjae was even afraid of Hankyung. It was just that he was hesitant, he wasn't very independent and lacked hope.

Kyuhyun on the other hand was different. Kyuhyun's personality was sharp, witty and outspoken. He didn't walk as gracefully as Youngjae, but he did have an air of class. Kyuhyun wasn't shy about his feelings. Whatever he felt, he would say it. He was full of hope, believing that good things would happen to good people. He never once doubted the world, or that situations were going to out do themselves. Kyuhyun wasn't hesitant, and he wasn't really frail... Well, he sort of was. Compared with Hankyung, he was not that strong or muscular. But in terms of health, he was at the very top.

Hankyung couldn't decide who he loved anymore.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About 6 months into the relationship, Hankyung then invited Kyuhyun to his house for dinner. And of course, it was meant to be an extremely happy time. But it seemed that it didn't do that well... It seemed that Hankyung was stilling holding onto the past without ever really knowing...

"...Who's that?" Kyuhyun questioned, looking at the picture he had found on the floor. As he stepped into the house and looked around, he felt something under his foot. It was a piece of paper. When Kyuhyun picked it up, he realised it was a photograph. As he looked at the photo, he couldn't help but see the strong resemblence between him and that person. Kyuhyun shivered slightly, who was this person?

"That is... m-my ex-boyfriend... H-He died a couple months ago." Hankyung muttered, shocked. Where did the photo come from? Hankyung swore that he had gotten rid of everything when he started dating Kyuhyun. Well, it seemed that Hankyung had unconsciously kept just one photo. The past was still lingering with Hankyung.

"...Huh...." Kyuhyun hummed in a undescribeable tone. He nodded, took the photo and put it in Hankyung's hands. Kyuhyun's hair gently fell over his almond shaped eyes as he continued to look around the house. Hankyung knew something was wrong.

"Kyuhyunnie?" Hankyung spoke quietly, not sure of what to do. He had never seen Kyuhyun act in such a manner.

"Hangeng gege." Kyuhyun spoke, his voice both hesitant and certain at the same time.

"Yes?" Hankyung replied quickly.

"Why do you love me?" Kyuhyun questioned his hyung while he walked around the room, his fingertips grazing the furniture and ornaments.

"...What?" Hankyung questioned one more time.

"Why do you love me?" Kyuhyun asked once again, his voice stronger and more pronounced. Hankyung thought for a second.

"...I love you because..." Hankyung paused, unaware of how to answer.

"..." Kyuhyun bit his lip, letting out a muted whimper. Hankyung's eyes widened.

"K-Kyuhyun?" Hankyung questioned, taking a step towards Kyuhyun who was about a meter away.

"The only reason you love me is because I look like him, right? The only reason you love me is because I resemble your ex-boyfriend." Kyuhyun snapped, his body shaking and trembling.

"What?? That's not true." Hankyung denied, Kyuhyun was reluctant to believe.

"Then why can't you just tell me something as simple as 'why do you love me'?" Kyuhyun questioned, feeling his tears swell up.

"..." Hankyung stayed quiet, thinking of a response.

"I was so stupid to think that for one second, you actually cared." Kyuhyun spoke loudly, trying to swallow his tears.

"Kyu-" Hankyung was cut off.

"I'm not just some replacement! I am a person, not a damn toy for you to play with!" Kyuhyun exclaimed angrily, bringing his hands to his face to wipe away the water.

"Please, don't think like that." Hankyung muttered, Kyuhyun glared.

"How am I supposed to think??" Kyuhyun asked rhetorically, Hankyung growled.

"Don't judge my past if you haven't even walked my journey. Just because you were raised in a cimpletely perfect environment-" Hankyung was once again cut off.

"You should see my life and become Me for a little. Maybe then will you know just how hard it is to hold back tears and fake a smile. My life is not perfect, my life isn't close. There are things about you don't know." Kyuhyun spoke.

"..." Hankyung stayed silent.

"And to be honest, there's a clear difference between you and me. We both said I love you to each other. But the thing is, I never lied when I said it." Kyuhyun spoke as he put on his jacket.

"...Kyuhyun-ah, please don't-" Hankyung wasn't able to speak, Kyuhyun growled before leaving.

"If you can't even tell me why you love me, it's clear you don't."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"..." Hankyung sighed, sitting at a coffe shop with a cold cup of coffe in front of him. From the moment he had ordered it, he hadn't taken even a single sip.

"Hankyung hyung." Called Ryeowook, one of his younger friends.

"...What?" Hankyung muttered, looking out the window.

"Why do you look so depressed? You were so happy before."

"Hm, I don't really know."

"Didn't you tell me you had a boyfriend or something?"

"...I did have a boyfriend." Hankyung spoke, emphasizing the word 'did'. Ryeowook stared at his hyung, wondering what had happened.

"...You broke up with each other?" Ryeowook asked rhetorically, Hankyung shook his head.

"Not really... he just left me because he got upset with me, and I don't blame him."

"Really? Upset about what?"

"He asked me why I loved him, and I couldn't answer."

"Ahh, so he's mad about that. Why don't you just go back to him? You guys didn't break up, and every couple has their fair share of arguments." Ryeowook told Hakyung who just stared.

"...You're right, I guess..." Hankyung muttered, sighing heavily.

"Who is this guy anyway?" Ryeowook asked as he bit into his piece of bread.

"...Cho Kyuhyun."  Hankyung replied. And with those words, Ryeowook's eyes widened.

"..."

"What's with that look?" Hankyung asked, not understanding his expression.

"People aren't toys, you can't just drop them when you're bored." Ryeowook said, the most serious tone Hankyung had ever heard from the younger. Hankyung stared in surprise.

"R-Ryeowook." Hankyung stuttered.

"Don't keep him waiting just because you know he will." Ryeowook continued on, Hankyung couldn't understand it.

"...Why are you-"

" You should know already Hyung. The sweetest smiles hide the deepest secrets. The gentlest eyes have cried the most tears. And the kindest hearts have felt the most pain. Just because you have a lot of pain, doesn't mean that others don't have more hurt." Ryeowook said as he bit into his bread even more, slow bites.

"What do you mean?" Hankyung asked, Ryeowook simply stared out the window.

"You know that Kyuhyun was actually engaged once?" Ryeowook asked rhetorically. Hankyung's eyes widened with those words.

"...Really? How do you know?"

"If you didn't know, Kyuhyun is actually one of my bestfriends. I've known him since forever."

"...And he was engaged?"

"Kyuhyun was engaged to a man named 'Park Chinho'. He and Kyuhyun dated since highschool. For about 4 years, then he asked Kyuhyun for his hand in marriage. Seems perfect, right?" Ryeowook let out a bitter smile.

"...Why aren't they together now?" Hankyung questioned.

"Hm, I'll tell you. On the night just before the wedding, Kyuhyun caught him doing something he shouldn't have. Kyuhyun caught him with another man. He was shocked. Kyuhyun ran to my house and told me what happened. Then, together we went to confront Chinho. But you see, he's much stronger than we were. So when we confonted him, Chinho beat Kyuhyun. He didn't touch me, not even once. But he beat Kyuhyun until he was bleeding." Ryeowook muttered quietly, only audible enough for Hankyung to hear.

"..."

"Of course, I tried to stop him, but it didn't work. I called the police right away. Kyuhyun was sent to the hospital and Chinho was went to prison. And of course, the wedding was cancelled." Ryeowook continued on.

"...Why does Kyuhyun-" Hankyung was cut off. Ryeowook knew the question, so he didn't bother listening to it.

"Kyuhyun's strong, that's why. He, unlike you and so much other people, know how to let go of the past. But, of course, he still can't forget it."

"...How-"

"There's a difference between your situation and Kyuhyun's situation. In your case he, Youngjae, died. You knew that he loved you with all your heart. For Kyuhyun, his lover beat him and chose to leave. Nothing hurts more than being abandoned. So don't talk to Kyuhyun like he doesn't know the situation you're in. He's knows it better than anyone. In fact, he knows worse."

"..." Hankyung stayed quiet.

"Don't take someone for granted, one day someone else is going to appreciate what you didn't." Ryeowook told his hyung, Hankyung looked up at the other.

"...What should I do?"

"Hyung, you should run after him and look for him. Then, I want you to apologise, tell him you love him, and then make him happy. After all, we all deserve happiness, but Kyuhyun probably needs it the most." Ryeowook said.

"..W-"

"GO!!!" Ryeowook snapped angrily, he was sick of answering questions. He wanted Hankyung to hurry up and go find Kyuhyun.

"R-Right."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hankyung ran and ran, wondering where Kyuhyun may be. As he panted, memories passed through his head. Not memories of Youngjae though, they were memories of Kyuhyun. How they went on fun dates, how they would constant contact each other, how they would tease each other, how they continuously complained about random things. How Kyuhyun would sing to Hankyung randomly, how Kyuhyun would lay his head on Hankyung's shouder... It was all sweet memories. Hankyung realised at this moment. He did love Kyuhyun with all his heart.

Soon, Hankyung came across a park. And there, to his amazement, was Kyuhyun sitting by himself in the park. Without thinking much, Hankyung went up to the other.

"Kyu-" As soon as Kyuhyun heard his name being called, he looked away.

"Go away. I don't even want to see your face." Kyuhyun spoke bluntly, Hankyung scowled.

"But Kyuhyun, I want to tell you something."

"What, the truth? How you only said you love me because of the way I look?" Kyuhyun muttered rhetorically.

"N-No, that's not it." Hankyung denied.

"Then what?"

"I love you."

"Don't lie to me!" Kyuhyun exclaimed as he stood up from hsi seat.

"I'm-"

"If you still have a picture of your old boyfriend who looks just like me, how can I trust you?!"

"I told you, I love you!" Hankyung shouted back.

"Do you love me or my appearance?!" Kyuhyun screamed angrily, not believing a single word coming from Hankyung's mouth.

"I love you!"

"You say that, but you can't even tell me why! Do you think I am an idiot! I loved once with an idiot, I'm not going to be like that again!"

"Don't say that, I won't hurt you like he did! Why on Earth do you think I'd beat you-?!" Hankyung covered his mouth right after saying those words, he realised he shouldn't have brought them up.

"..."

"K-Kyuhyun...?" Hankyung asked as he saw Kyuhyun's eyes widen in shock.

"...W-W-Who told you about that?"

"..."

"W-W-Who told you...?"

"...Ryeowook, he told me... He told about how you were engaged with a man named 'Chinho'. He told me how you loved each other. He told me also how he cheated on you... how he beat you when-" Hankyung pushed it too far, he shouldn't have said anything about that.

"Shut up!!!" Kyuhyun exclaimed angrily, he didn't want to remember it.

"..."

"...P-Please, don't talk about that anymore..." Kyuhyun said as he shook, as if he were begging of pleading.

"Kyuhyun-ah..." Hankyung muttered quietly.

"I'm scared of love, I'm scared of getting hurt. I'm scared Hangeng gege, I'm not sure of anything. You told me you love me. If you really do, then why? Tell me, why the hell do you love me?" Kyuhyun asked as he let out a cry, trying to stop his tears.

"...I love you because you're you. Nobody else. I love that you're not shy about that way you feel, I love how you're so honest with me. I love how you would always smile so brightly when you see me, I love that you would sing to me when I was tired. I love how you would hug me tightly and never want to let go, I love it when you kiss me first. I love everything about you. Kyuhyun, I love you so much." Hankyung spoke, his voice completely certain. Kyuhyun shivered as the other approached him. Soon, Kyuhyun was being warmly held in the Hankyung's arms. They stared at each other, Kyuhyun smiled as Hankyung brought his lips down to his. A gentle kiss was shared.

"Gege... I love you too."
