"L's not here again?" Hoya asked as he arrived, meeting the rest of the Infinite boys at the pub.

Sungjong shook his head. "L hyung has been really confused lately. He's minimizing contact with Chaekyung and Jaekyung to think things through."

"I don't think Chaekyung has noticed anything wrong yet," Dongwoo murmured. "But Jaekyung most definitely thought something was off about him. I caught her staring in confusion at him when he tried avoiding her this afternoon. He better make his decision soon before she knows what's happening."

Woohyun frowned and bit his lip. "You know what I think? I think L's scared."

"Scared?" Sunggyu echoed. "Why would he be scared? Of getting hurt? From Jaekyung?"

"Haha that sounds hilarious!" Sungyeol laughed. "Why should he be scared of her?"

Woohyun shook his head. "No. I don't think he's scared of that. He's scared of hurting her." he murmured. "I caught him staring at her, his eyes filled with longing. I think he kind of knows what he feels for her, but he doesn't dare take action."

"Not because he's a coward." Woohyun shook his head again. "But because he's afraid this might be another Chaekyung."

"Another Chaekyung?" Sungjong murmured.

"He's afraid what he feels is just temporary. He's afraid this is just lust." Woohyun analyzed. "And he's afraid he's just confused and if he gets into a relationship with Jaekyung which would inevitably hurt Chaekyung in the process, and he ends up realizing he doesn't really love her, he will end up hurting both sisters."

The Infinite boys fell silent as they thought about the problem between L and the Lee sisters. "That's some serious right there." Hoya murmured. "I'm glad I'm not L."

"Can't we do anything to help?" Sunggyu frowned.

Woohyun shot the leader a look. "I thought we're going to give him free reins to do this one. We caused him misery the first time, look how he's suffering because of his relationship."

"Yeah," Sungyeol stood up suddenly and grinned at them. "But what if we aren't going to influence his choice?"

Sungjong blinked at Sungyeol in confusion. "Then what are we going to do?"

Sungyeol grinned at the Infinite boys mysteriously. "We're going to help him make his choice quicker."

"Hey." L smiled at his friends listlessly as he sank into the couch.

It was Saturday, a full six days since he started his Avoid Lee Sisters Project. Chaekyung hadn't really thought anything was wrong because she didn't usually get a lot of time with L, but boy, Jaekyung was starting to notice.

She actually asked him what was wrong the previous day, and L didn't know what to tell her without lying. He didn't want to lie, but how could he tell her the truth?

I'm confused because I think I love you but I'm afraid if I don't love you enough and I hurt you in some way.

Damn. He should just die.

L hadn't really talked to Jaekyung for six days. They got to the Newsletter Meeting together and discussed ideas, and L cursed the heavens and earth that he was paired up with her for all projects.

When they talked, L couldn't help but smile when she talked so enthusiastically. When she laughed, L couldn't help but smile at her gently and watch. When he was in such a close proximity with her, he couldn't stop his heart from racing.

He wanted to kiss her, god how he wanted to.

How different this was from Chaekyung, when he had to force himself to even kiss her cheek. Now he had to force himself to NOT kiss Jaekyung.

He wanted to take her in his arms. He wanted to press his lips against her forehead. He wanted to just hold her and not say anything else, but if he did all that he couldn't even imagine the consequences.

He would be a cheater through and through. He would hurt Chaekyung, and he would hurt Jaekyung in the process. DAMN THIS .

L sighed to himself and closed his eyes. But he missed her, he missed her even when they were sitting next to each other and not talking. He missed her when she just went to the toilet for two minutes.

He was suffering.

"Look at him." Dongwoo whispered. "He's positively suffering."

Sunggyu nodded, frowning to himself. "He is." he looked at Dongwoo. "You think Sungyeol's plan will work?"

Dongwoo grinned. "No idea, but there's no harm trying."

"Do you think Sungyeol will succeed?" Woohyun asked curiously.

"No duh. You think he can bake a perfect cupcake like Chaekyung did for L?" Hoya rolled his eyes. "He's going to fail terribly."

L's face fell again at the mention of the cupcakes. "Those cupcakes were actually made by Jaekyung." he admitted. "Chaekyung tried making me another batch and told me that the first time she baked me those, it was actually Jaekyung's doing."

"Wow." Sungjong muttered. "Jaekyung noona must be willing to do everything for her sister huh."

L nodded, sighing softly. Another reason to worry.

What would she say if she found that her sister's boyfriend was in love with her?

"That babo." L muttered. "She doesn't care about herself at all if Chaekyung's in the picture. She once told me she would die for Chaekyung. Die." he crushed his pillow. "She's so stupid." he mumbled.

"Hey, careful. That's my pillow right there. I want it to be able to stand on my couch." Sunggyu pried it out of L's hands and patted it.

At this point, Sungyeol came out of the kitchen wearing a hello kitty apron with a tray of cupcakes that just popped out of the oven. "Hey guys! I'm here!!!"

Dongwoo blinked at the tray of cupcakes that looked rather well done indeed, and he looked surprised. "Wow, Sungyeol you really outdid yourself."

"Heh." Sungyeol pretended to toss his hair over his shoulder. "Who am I?"

Sungjong peered at the cupcakes that were a little wobbly looking but on the whole pretty fine. "Can we eat these? Will we get poisoned?"

"Babo, even if he did put poison he wouldn't tell you." Woohyun laughed. He took the cupcake and put it to his mouth. "Since I'm the great Namstar, I'll try it first."

He bit into it and his eyes widened. Chewing enthusiastically, he gave Sungyeol a large thumbs up. "That was good. It tastes really good, you know!"

Sungyeol grinned and put one in L's hands. "Really? I had Jaekyung's recipe." he said it loudly, into L's ear. "Jaekyung's special recipe. That girl is a jack of all trades, really. I think she's at the Piano Academy practicing her piano right now."

L bit into the cupcake and sighed softly. He knew. Of course he knew she was there.

"And I think Chaekyung's at school right now." Sungyeol added. "She has extra cheerleading practice."

L eyed Sungyeol. "Why are you telling me these?"

Sungyeol shrugged innocently. "Nothing. In case you needed to go somewhere." he grinned. He then turned to fuss over the other Infinite boys and L sighed to himself. Why must Sungyeol mention Jaekyung everytime? As if L wasn't thinking about her enough.

*I wonder how her piano lesson is going.* L thought to himself. *I really want to hear her play. I can't believe I haven't made her play for me before. She must look angellic playing the piano.*

A loud "OMO!" made L look up in shock.

"OMO Chaekyung! Is she alright!" Sungyeol gasped into the phone. "What? She fainted? Is she going to be okay? Oh okay, okay, right. I'll tell him."

Sungyeol hung off the call on L's phone and looked at L sadly. "L, Chaekyung got to a little accident during Cheerleading practice. I think she got a little heatstroke and she fainted."

"." L frowned and got up of his seat. "I think I'll go to Jaekyung and pick her up to go to school, she'll want to go." he looked around for his jacket.

Sungyeol grinned and signalled for Dongwoo to call L's phone again.

NOTHING'S OVER NOTHING'S OVER

"Omo L your phone is ringing again I'll help you pick it up!" Sungyeol muttered quickly and picked up the call even before L turned around. "Hello this is L's beloved, Sungyeol."

L rolled his eyes, reaching for his jacket.

"What? You say Jaekyung fainted at the piano academy?"

L froze. "WHAT?" he barked. He didn't bother about his jacket now, and he his heel, running out of the door without a second glance back. ". !!!" L flew to his car and slammed the door shut, stepping on the accelerator, hard.

Sungyeol grinned at the Infinite boys in triumph. "Wow. I think your plan just worked." Sunggyu murmured.

"Oh my god. Oh my god." L muttered as he sped up the steps. "Lee Jaekyung don't you dare let anything happen to yourself. ." he couldn't help repeating as he ran up to the seventh floor where the Piano Academy was located.

He panted as he reached the receptionist. "Where is Jaekyung? Jaekyung! Is she alright?" he barked.

The receptionist blinked. "Jaekyung? She's in room 11-3, practicing-"

But L was gone.

He searched around for the room 11-3, his heart thudding fast in his chest and fearing the first look when he opened the door. Would she be lying on the floor unconscious as other people fanned her and tried to get her to wake up?

Oh gosh. He cringed at the thought.

He saw room 11-3 at the end of the corridor and he rushed to it, grabbing the door knob and twisting the door open abruptly, not realizing how a beautiful melancholic piano piece was currently being played right from inside.

"Jaekyung!" L panted, his eyes squeezed shut, not daring to see her unconscious form.

Jaekyung stopped playing the piano abruptly and looked up in surprise. She saw L panting by the door, looking like hell. Had he run from somewhere?

"Myungsoo?" Jaekyung stood up. "What are you doing here?"

L opened one eye and raised his brows, opening the other. "You're okay." he gaped, his jaw hanging open. He rushed to her and grabbed her shoulders, looking her up and down. "You're okay." he repeated.

Jaekyung laughed uncertainly and looked at him in confusion. "Of course I'm okay. Who said I wasn't?"

"But Sungyeol said-" L faltered as he realized what happened. He hadn't even picked up any of the calls, and Sungyeol was the one directing everything.

"He tricked me." L realized. "Oh my gosh I can't believe...he freaking tricked me! ! Thank you Sungyeol mate!"

Jaekyung blinked at him. "Myungsoo, are you alright? You're behaving really strangely."

L smiled at her and Jaekyung was surprised at how bright that smile was. L's hands slithered down from her shoulders to her waist and pulled her to him in one swift move.

"I've never been better." he whispered.

And then he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.
