[Sunmi P.O.V.]

Sitting in a row boat with the shining sun blazing down on the earth and my skin catching the warmth was incredible. Taking in a breath of air I smiled as I gaze in front of a man who I known forever rowing the boat.

“Yah, don’t you think we’re far enough from the lands?” I ask as Wooyoung stop in his tracks of rowing the boat and looked up at me. He looked around his surroundings finally realizing we were in the middle of the pond.

Blushing he scratch the back of his head, “Ahah….lost track of site I guess.” I continue to smile as I looked up at the sky and watch two birds that happen to flew by. “I wonder if it was a female and male flying together and am perhaps a couple?” Just then I felt someone touch my left shoulder.

“Gwaenchanh-ayo Sunmi (Are you alright Sunmi) you look kind of in a trance.” Wooyoung asks me as he was the one that put his right hand on my left shoulder with concern plaster on his face. I took a deep breath and brush my fingers through my hair.

“Yeah I’m fine just thinking how everything fell so perfectly in my life.” I answered as I put my chin on my palm where I had my elbow on knee.

Wooyoung gave me a childish smile, “Well it’s about to get better.”

I looked at him in confusion, “What can get more perfect than this?”

“You just have to wait till the evening comes.” Wooyoung hints as I laughed and looked down at the ponds water. Crystal clear and dipping my hand in the water it was chilly. Seeing my reflection in the water I looked different. I look more mature and….

“You’re doing it again.” Wooyoung spoke breaking my trains of thoughts.

“I’m sorry. I just tend to start thinking about things a lot.” I explained as Wooyoung open our picnic basket we brought from my home. He pulled out a can of juice and handed it to me.

“Here maybe this will help.” He suggested as I took it in my hand. The can was cold and so I put it gently on my right cheek savoring the coldness.

“You know you’re supposed to drink it and not as an ice pack right?” Wooyoung jokingly asks as he grabs himself a can and opened it. He took a big gulp as I watched him. “You’re staring at things a lot today.”

“I know, but I can’t seem to stop.” I replied with a big smile plaster on my face. Somehow just then I knew what kind of feelings were developing in my heart.

“Really and you know what makes me stare like an idiot?” I thought for a moment and shook my head as a piece of my hair fell in front of my eyes. Wooyoung on the side of the boat came forward to grab my piece of hair and put it behind my ear.

“I stare like an idiot when I look at you.” I blushed furiously from hearing that with my heart beating outrageously fast. “Did he just confess to me?”

“Sunmi-ah I like you for a long time…I…. do you feel the same way as me?” He stared nervously at the ground.

I couldn’t help but smiled, “Well I don’t have the same feelings towards you.” I started to say and saw his shoulder slump down. “But up until now I think I might have fallen for you also.” He looked up at me with a wide smile.

“You’re not playing with are you?”

“Yah,” I said and smack him on the arm slightly, “how could I joke about my love?” He grabbed my arm’s wrist that was about to smack his arm again and pulled me into a hug.

“I know this is a bit fast, but I have been waiting to say this to you for so long. I love you.”I couldn’t help but had a smile tugging on my lips.

“Shall we get back to land because I am famished?” I laughed as he started to row the boat back to shore. As he pulled the boat out of the pond I set a blanket down on the grass. Sitting down on the blanket I began to pull food out of the basket. As Wooyoung settle beside me on the blanket I turned to him.

“Yah what’s my surprise?” I ask planting a sandwich in his hand. He took out his cell phone and looked at the time.

“Five thirty seven ah times pass so slow when you want something to come already.” Wooyoung said as he put his device back in his pants pocket.

“What specific time are you waiting for?” Being curious I ask.

“Six.” I thought how at six the sun will be going down and the sky turning dark.

“Fireworks, you’re going to have fireworks in the sky.” I said and took a bite of my sandwich.

“Je ne sais pas (I don’t know),” Wooyoung spoke in French as I bumped him slightly on the side with my body. “Vous avez juste a attente vous plait (You just have to wait please).”

“Speaking in French I see. Je ne comprends pas (I don’t understand).” I spoke back in French as Wooyoung chuckle. I was always a bit competitive. As we talked and laughed I lost track of time when it was finally six. As Wooyoung clapped his hands to show me his surprise I thought how fireworks will start exploding in the sky but instead slow music started playing as every tree in  the country side, surrounding the pond lighted up from the wires of light. I looked around amaze how everything look so pretty. Just then I heard rustles and found Wooyoung holding a bouquet of flowers in front of me.

“Will you accept this flower for an amaze years to come with this knight?” Wooyoung asks me. My heart was racing as fast as I felt tears starting to well up in my eyes.

I took the bouquet in my hands as I nod my head furiously. I couldn’t form words in my throat as Wooyoung hugged me so tight. That day I remember so clearly was the best day of life ever since I hit a bump in the road when I was fifteen.
