Back rubs/massages

Xiumin sweeps his gaze all over the place to make sure everything is in place before Kyung arrives. He has carefully planned out everything—from what massage oil to use to researching on how to give effective back massages. It’s thanks to that video he finds, after a good four hours, he gains sufficient knowledge of back rubs or massages.

Two minutes. Two minutes and Kyung will open that door with a weary expression plastered on her face. She always comes home exhausted, Xiumin notices. He’s been really worried about her these past few days. She’s always out, working late nights or studying late at her university library.

Though she has a year left before she graduates (and then, finally! She can move in with him), she decides to find a job at the bakery shop nearby. “To save a little money for future use,” she tells him that Sunday night when he asks her why she has to work and study at the same time.

His thoughts cut short when he hears a click. She’s back, he beams.

“Xiumin, can you please—oh.”

He swiftly gets to his feet and shows her a full-metallic grin. He doesn’t greet her; instead, he lets her take in on what’s going on—and why the room seems so dark and… strangely soothing.

He walks up to her, grabbing the big, plastic bags she’s carrying and bringing it to the kitchen. They can worry about dinner later. For now, Kyung will need this.

“Sit down,” Xiumin orders, gesturing at the couch.

Kyung eyes him warily. “Kim Minseok, whatever it is you’re planning—”

“I promise,” he cuts her off, “it’s not something so bad.”

If he didn’t grab her hand, she wouldn’t have sat down. When she sat, he tells her to relax her shoulders and lean back. She leans back and he catches the sight of her confused face. He laughs. With her back on his chest (which is a really weird position to give someone a back massage), he starts working his magic on her shoulders.

Hours later, they end up sleeping—completely forgetting the plastic bags in the kitchen.
