EDITED

They all looked at her with a not so surprised expression. It was in the tall giant's nature to play silly jokes and act immature. She was second in line after Hyoyeon. They all rolled her eyes and continued to eat when Hyoyeon remembered something.

“Hey Soo, I’m not trying to be a downer, but what are you going to do about Fany?” Hyoyeon asked.

“Iunno. She texted me about wanting to meet up but I’m not ready to listen to her explanation yet. I’m afraid if I meet her now I’ll end up throwing a punch.” Sooyoung continued to eat. “Don’t worry. I’ll probably meet up with her tomorrow or something.” She said with full.

They all finished lunch and went off to do their individual chores. Sooyoung went to wash the dishes while Sunny and Taeyeon were paying bills for the restaurant and dealing with salaries. Hyoyeon went back to her room to organize the house bills and plan out her lessons for the next two days.

A little bit after, Hyoyeon heard Sooyoung walking across her room through the door. “Soo did you mop the floor yet?!” she yelled loud enough for Sooyoung to hear outside her room.

“Okay…" Sooyoung turned around with slouched shoulders as she sulked that she couldn’t avoid more chores. Hyoyeon could hear the disappointed footsteps outside her door and chuckled.

After Hyoyeon finished her errands, she went to do her favorite past time activity; laundry. She took the baskets of clothes from both bathrooms to the washing machine. “I’m doing laundry! If you guys have anything else you want me to wash, bring it to me now or else you’re gunna have to wait another four days!!” she yelled.

The rest of the day was boring.

***

The dial tone rung throughout the living room breaking its silence.

“Hello?” A nervous voice answered the phone.

“Are you busy right now?”

“Not at the moment.” The person on the other line was taken aback from such short, sharp sentences.

“Good. Meet me at the park near your work in fifteen minutes.”

“Okay. I’ll be right there. By—“

Sooyoung hung up without letter the other finish the sentence. She got on her midnight blue motorcycle and rode to the park. She wasn’t angry anymore but she couldn’t find the right words to say over the phone. Her head had cooled off and she was ready to listen without her emotions getting in the way. When she arrived, she parked her bike and stayed seated while looking around. With her helmet still on, she scanned the area and saw her red haired girlfriend sitting on one of the benches with big sunglasses and a hat. Though she was supposed to be angry, she couldn’t help but smile.  She took off her helmet, got off her bike and walked towards her.

“Hey…” She kept her hands in her pockets and rocked back and forth standing in front of her.

“Sooyoung!” Her girlfriend shot up and hugged her. “I’m really sorry!” she started to tear up.

“Don’t cry. You’ll ruin your makeup.” Sooyoung smiled as she wiped the tears off her face and sat down. “Okay, so what happened?”

Tiffany sat back down and took a deep breath. “Well, while I was sitting down an old co-worker of mine, which is who you saw, noticed me. In the middle of catching up, she was tired of standing and wanted to sit next to me but before she sat, a guy bumped into her and she fell on me. Unfortunately, my lips broke her fall.”

“I see.” Sooyoung awkwardly nodded.

“Please don’t be mad! I’m telling the truth!” Tiffany put her hands together as if she was praying and apologized with her head down.

“I’m not mad. Well I was, but that was before.” Sooyoung lifted her head up and held her hands. “Promise me all that wasn’t a lie.”

“I promise!” Tiffany wrapped her arms around her neck and hugged her tight.

“Alright, I believe you.” Sooyoung smiled and hugged her back. “I’ll drive you back.” She let go and grabbed her hand.

“Okay!” Tiffany flashed her signature eye smile and they walked to Sooyoung’s bike.

“Hold on tight!” Sooyoung backed up and drove off with Tiffany’s warm embrace.

“Taengoo! Order of jjajangmyeon!” Sunny leaned over the counter and yelled to Taeyeon who was in the kitchen.

“Okayy!” Taeyeon responded.

Sunny felt something change between the two of them but she couldn’t put a finger to it. The past two days weren’t any different from the normal but the feeling was off. She shrugged off the thought as a customer walked through the door.

“Welcome! Table for one?” Sunny asked the guy who walked in alone.

“Ah, yes.”  He answered.

“This way please.” Sunny led him to a table that sat two. "Can I get you started off with something to drink?"

"Actually I'm ready to order." He spoke.

"Alright, what would you like to have today?” Sunny asked.

“Can I have an order of gamjatang and water?” He asked.

“Sure thing! Coming right up!” Sunny took his menu and turned.

“Wait!” He yelled after her.

“Ah, yes?” Sunny turned back around.

“I don’t want to eat alone. Could you eat with me?” He sheepishly asked.

Sunny found him very interesting. “Awhh I’d love to but I have to get back to work. How about next time?”

“Bunny! Stop flirting and get back to work!” Taeyeon put the plate of jjajangmyeon on the counter and went back into the kitchen.

“Yeee!” Sunny jerked up and quickly wrote her number on his napkin. She winked and went back to work.

She grabbed the plate of jjajangmyeon and brought it to the customer. That’s weird. She tilted her head and walked back to the register. Taeyeon never yelled at me for flirting before. Her thought process was cut off when a customer came to pay for his meal.

Taeyeon walked back to the kitchen and started frying bulgogi. Why did I yell at her? She does that all the time. She shook her head.

“Aigoo. What’s wrong with me today?” Taeyeon said out loud.

“Boss!” the assistant cook yelled.

“Huh? What?” Taeyeon looked back at him.

“They’re burnt.” He nudged his head towards her frying pan.

She looked back at her pan. “.” Her shoulders dropped in disappointment.

Hyoyeon got her keys out and unlocked the door. She went in, dropped her bag on the side and started stretching. She had class in fifteen minutes. Noticing Sooyoung wasn’t there yet, she called her.

 “Hell—“

“YA! WHERE ARE YOU?” Hyoyeon yelled at her phone on the floor.

“Sorry! I’m out with Fany!”

“Doing what?” She was questioning Sooyoung's priorities.

“Talking things out.”

“Well wrap things up! You're class is in an hour." Hyoyeon lectured

"I know, I know."

She hung up and a group of boys came in just on time for their lesson. They stretched for a few minutes while Hyoyeon went into her office to check on some things for a private student coming in after. She came back out a

Chapter 50: WHY IS THIS SO GOOD? I know why, because you are an amazing writer who only gets better with each chapter and your progression of the story was very much more believable than most stories in which "they got together after first sight". You developed the characters and gave them their flaws and their strengths and how that translated into the story was amazing. It looks like Punch could be an entire spinoff/sequel story on its own, but I feel content with you not doing a sequel and that's a good thing. Its one thing to leave your readers wanting more, but to do that AND make them feel content without more is a weird paradox you accomplished. Your writing style is not the most sophisticated or fancy, but its one that allows for many readers to enjoy simply, but has enough complexity to make it leave no questions unanswered. I loved this story and can't wait to read more from you
