EDITED

“Want to go to the club after our shift?” Sunny asked while Taeyeon drove.

“That was out of nowhere. Why so sudden.”

“It’s not really out of nowhere. We used to go every other day.”

Taeyeon knew she was right but it seemed so sudden since they haven’t go together in a while. “That’s true…”

“So you want to go today?”

“Umm, let’s see how I feel when we close up.”

“Okay.”

The rest of the drive was full of silence. Taeyeon didn’t like the sound of going to a club. Though she wanted to loosen up and have some fun but her will for it had disappeared. The very thought of seeing Sunny grinding up on random men make her stomach turn.

It’s time I settle this. I don’t want to continue on without answers. Sunny didn’t want to go either but it was necessary to settle her unstable heart. She reluctantly waited for the night to come since that would be the time the club would be packed. I’ve been feeling different every time I lay my eyes on you and I know you’re feeling it too.

The day at the restaurant was far from the usual. Both of the girls were too preoccupied with their thoughts of the night to come to put their hearts into their work. Taeyeon kept zoning out in the kitchen and told her assistant chef to take over her place while she allowed the dish washer to work on other things.  She put on some gloves and started rinse the dishes aimlessly.

Sunny paid enough attention to get by and take orders without error but the other waitresses saw the clouds in her eyes and took over for her when they could. She felt sorry for them but they shook their heads and smiled. She ended up working the cash register for the remainder of the day.

A day’s work came to an end as the last customers left the restaurant. The workers let out a sigh of relief. Taeyeon came out of the kitchen and they all gathered around for their weekly short meeting.

“Good work guys. I’m sorry for my absence throughout the month,” she apologized.

“It’s okay Boss. It’s part of our job to take over your job when you’re gone!” the assistant chef smiled.

“What am I going to do without you oppa?” Taeyeon laughed. “Well is there anything else that anyone would like to say or mention?” she looked around and everyone had content faces. “Okay then! Leeteuk Oppa, you're getting a small raise. Thanks for working here since the beginning! See you guys tomorrow! Maybe!”

Everyone laughed at her joke and left. Taeyeon got her things and waited for Sunny at the door. They exited the restaurant, locked up and went into the car.

“Still up for the club?” Sunny asked.

“Yup. Let’s go home and change first,” she gave a weak smile.

I’m tired but I’ll go because I know you’ll go anyways. Taeyeon kept her eyes away from Sunny afraid of what might happen within her if she saw her face. Not long after, they arrived home and opened the door to an empty house as everyone was gone. Sunny got her clothes and went in their bathroom while Taeyeon went into Hyoyeon and Sooyoung’s to save time.

They came out at relatively the same time and smiled at each other when they met at the stairs. Sunny didn’t try to make herself that presentable. Instead she only applied BB cream and eyeliner. Taeyeon didn’t bother either and did the same as Sunny. After beautifying themselves, they got into the car and headed to the club with Taeyeon driving.

When they arrived, the employees welcomed them back with open arms and cheerful hugs. They sat at the bar when the bartender saw them with lit up eyes.

“OMO! Well who do we have here?! Nice to know you two are still alive! What have you been up to this past month and half? I haven’t seen you girls anywhere! We’re you that busy that you couldn’t make time to visit?” he pouted.

“Aigoo! Slow down there Shindong oppa! It hasn’t been THAT long!” She laughed.

“Do you know how many times I hear your names each day?” He rubbed his temples.

“Are we really that popular?” Sunny smiled and took a sip of her martini.

“All the guys come here just to hope to see you around but you haven’t come in so long that they started giving up! Oh! That reminds me, I have to do something really quick! Don’t go anywhere!”

He smiled and went to the microphone he installed at the end of the bar for miscellaneous reasons. He flipped the switch on and pulled the mic out from under the counter and cleared his throat. “EHHH HEEMMMM. TESTING. Ah. Ah. ah. Hello ladies and gentlemen! Well… mostly gentlemen, I have an announcement to make! Our two beautiful and cheerful ladies are finally back! Say hello to Taeyeon and Sunny!”

The crowd of men stopped dancing with their partners and turned around following the light that shined on the two. Their eyes popped open and made their way towards them. Taeyeon and Sunny looked at each other with worried eyes afraid of the stampede twenty feet away. They grabbed each other’s hand and quickly walke

Chapter 50: WHY IS THIS SO GOOD? I know why, because you are an amazing writer who only gets better with each chapter and your progression of the story was very much more believable than most stories in which "they got together after first sight". You developed the characters and gave them their flaws and their strengths and how that translated into the story was amazing. It looks like Punch could be an entire spinoff/sequel story on its own, but I feel content with you not doing a sequel and that's a good thing. Its one thing to leave your readers wanting more, but to do that AND make them feel content without more is a weird paradox you accomplished. Your writing style is not the most sophisticated or fancy, but its one that allows for many readers to enjoy simply, but has enough complexity to make it leave no questions unanswered. I loved this story and can't wait to read more from you
