EDITED

The sky had now darkened into a midnight blue as the moon rose to take its place above the earth. Three hours went by faster than Hyoyeon expected. She exited the freeway and looked at the GPS for the next directions. She remained calm throughout the trip. Even though endless possibilities ran through her mind, she kept her focus on the road. She knew better than to worry over something Taeyeon would be giving the answer to. Surprisingly, the pain was subtle and her leg survived the long journey. Her eyes roamed the unfamiliar and distant surrounding. She started to become slightly uncomfortable but despite the strange feeling inside of her and the current predicament she was in, she enjoyed the trip. She was fortunate enough to be exposed to new territories and took in the small adventure with a smile forgetting for a moment that someone in need was waiting for her.

After a few minutes, she reached Jeonju Arts High School and paid more attention to her surroundings. She saw the park a few streets down and stopped her car at the nearby curb. Taeyeon wasn't very clear in her description of where she was but Hyoyeon figured she could find her. She grabbed her crutches out of the front seat and hastily looked for her sister. Minutes of searching past and she found a golden haired girl hugging her knees sitting on the side of the tunnel. She eyes widened and hastily hopped over to her sister.

Hyoyeon collapsed next to her, threw her crutches aside and pulled the demoralized girl into her embrace. Taeyeon didn't flinch nor did she scream. Only one person could hold her like that. Taeyeon slid her arms around Hyoyeon's waist and dug her face into her neck. Hyoyeon adjusted her position and leaned back on the tunnel. She gently rubbed Taeyeon's back and tightened her grip.

"I shouldn't have came Hyo." Taeyeon mumbled in Hyoyeon's neck.

"What happened, Tae?" she tilted her head back and looked at her.

"Not here. I don't like this place," she pulled out and pouted.

Hyoyeon pitifully smiled and eyed her in agreement. Taeyeon sluggishly got up, grabbed her bag and helped Hyoyeon up. Both of them slowly made their way to Hyoyeon's car. The drive was painfully quiet as not one word was spoken from their mouths. Hyoyeon understood the silence as Taeyeon's way of deciding what to say. In ways, Taeyeon thought about the situation more than she needed to. She thought that it shouldn't have been such a big deal. I met him, Hayeon and Jiwoong. It didn't go well. End of story. So why do I feel so… disturbed? He can't hurt my family. He's an entertainment company. How would he ruin a restaurant?

Two hours had passed and Hyoyeon had trouble keeping her eyelids from falling. She tried to stay awake but it was agonizingly hard since there was a lack of entertainment. The night sky and the endless road was all that kept her company. Taeyeon noticed and felt sorry for her so she reached out for the radio button. G.O.D.'s One Candle began playing. She couldn't help but smile. What a coincidence.

"When you're tired and exhausted, lean on me

I'll always be by your side

So that you never feel like you're alone in this world,

I'll be right beside you, holding your hand."

Hyoyeon turned the volume up and began rapping along with a smile on her face. Taeyeon sang along as well. Fin.K.L, H.O.T. and S.E.S. were played on constant replay. The rest of the drive went well for the two disheartened girls.

The hour flew by faster than imagined as they reached their beloved park. Hyoyeon parked her car and the two slowly made their way up the hill. They sat at the end of the tree and leaned back. Their eyes closed to the sudden breeze that passed by and breathed in the fresh night air while their hair danced in the wind.

"I have a sister." Taeyeon broke the silence.

"What's her name?" Hyoyeon turned her head towards her.

"Hayeon," she smiled at the thought of her younger sister, "she's just like me, except smaller and younger by six years."

"Awhh… am I getting replaced now?" Hyoyeon teasingly pouted at her.

Taeyeon playfully shoved her on the shoulder, "you know no one can replace you."

"I know," she flattered herself, "what else happened?"

"Well. I don't hate Jiwoong or Hayeon at all since I know they didn't do anything. But my father, he threatened to hurt those around me if I don't come back to take over his company," she frowned at the thought of her loved ones getting hurt.

"Well, how would he know any of us? I personally don't think he's going to hurt us. He probably doesn't have to power to do so." Hyoyeon shrugged.

"That's what I thought at first but he's the CEO of an entertainment company and owns all these different things. I don’t know how he could threaten my restaurant since it has nothing to do with his field. But still, it's very convincing," her eyebrows furrowed.

"What's his company's name?" she asked hesitantly.

"Tae Entertainment," she said without much strength left.

Hyoyeon's eyes opened wide and she seized her breathing. Thoughts were running through her mind and as she tried to think of possibilities for a different explanation but none of them made sense. Taeyeon noticed the lack of motion on her sister's chest and waved her hand in her face.

"Hyo, breathe." Taeyeon said.

Hyoyeon shook her head and pouted. "Tae, Jessica is signed under Tae Entertainment," she looked downs "and so am I."

"What?!" Taeyeon tried to store the newly given information through her brain but a brick wall prevented further processing. "I thought you were your own company Hyo. Don't tell me you borrowed money from them!"

"What? No no no!" Hyoyeon waved her hands in front of her in denial. "It's not like that."

"Then what is it like then?" she crossed her arms like a mother scolding her child.

"I needed help starting. I came across one of the representatives. They offered me a proposal and I accepted," she took a breath, "apparently they knew about my studio and thought highly of it, so they said they'd help me pay off the small amount left if I took in their trainees for a few years."

"No strings attached?" Taeyeon doubted her.

"Nope. I still have a year left to forcibly taking in their trainees but I don't look at it that way. I still have students from other places and I get paid well so it was just like more students to teach. Both of us are on good terms. That's also how I ended up teaching Jessica for her musical," she explained.

"Ohh. That’s… this is not good! What am I going to do?! I can't leave my restaurant!" she brought both hands to the sides of her head in frustration. "What if he finds out that the both of you are associated with me? He'll ruin you two!"

"Tae, everything will be fine! What does he want you to do anyways?" She scooted closer to Taeyeon and brought her arm around her shoulders.

"He said he's going to die soon so he needs me to take over his place. I don't know the first thing about running a company like that! I can't leave my restaurant since it's starting to pick up and we're thinking about expanding. It's not like I could ask you

Chapter 50: WHY IS THIS SO GOOD? I know why, because you are an amazing writer who only gets better with each chapter and your progression of the story was very much more believable than most stories in which "they got together after first sight". You developed the characters and gave them their flaws and their strengths and how that translated into the story was amazing. It looks like Punch could be an entire spinoff/sequel story on its own, but I feel content with you not doing a sequel and that's a good thing. Its one thing to leave your readers wanting more, but to do that AND make them feel content without more is a weird paradox you accomplished. Your writing style is not the most sophisticated or fancy, but its one that allows for many readers to enjoy simply, but has enough complexity to make it leave no questions unanswered. I loved this story and can't wait to read more from you
