“I’m just glad you’re doing fine,” Joongki patted Sunny head. Sunny bowed once again, “I’m sorry for putting you through all that trouble oppa.”

Joongki pulled Sunny into a hug, making her surprise. “Aigooo, you’re a touch little chick huh?” Sunny scoffed and returned his hug. Joongki pulled away and looked down at Sunny, “want some lunch?”

Sunny shook her head, “I have to meet up with a friend soon then head back to Jay place before curfew.” “Curfew?” Joongki asked.

“Jay made me a curfew time, if it past curfew time he going to call the police and file for a missing person,” Sunny said, annoyed. Joongki chuckled and ruffled Sunny head. “Go on before you’re late for your little date.”

“It’s not a date!” Sunny whacked his hand away from her head. Joongki smiled and stuck his hands in his pockets. He watched as Sunny got into her car and drove away.

Sunny looked at the rear mirror and found Joongki walking inside. She sighed and drove to the destination Jonghun wanted to meet up at. When she finally reached the restaurant, she called Jonghun and asked where he was.

“I’m right behind your car,” Jonghun voiced went through the phone. Sunny looked through the rear mirror and found Jonghun cheekily smiling at her. Sunny giggled and got out the car, she walked to the back of the car, to only find flowers shoved in her face.

Sunny widened her eyes from the flowers she just received. Sunny was so surprised that she froze in her spot. Jonghun laughed and grabbed her hand, he opened her hand, and placed the flowers in it.

“What – what – what is this for?” Sunny stuttered.

Jonghun chuckled as he recalled the past between him and Jay.

“YEAH! OH! OH?! REALLY?! THAT ALL YOU CAN SAY?! YOU SAVE MY BEST FRIEND AND BECAME A HERO IN HER EYES AND CALL YOU CAN SAY IS OH?! YOU REPLACED ME AS THE MALE PERSON IN HER EYES AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS OH?! SHE WON’T EVEN COOK BEAKFAST FOR ME BECAUSE SHE IS ALL UP INTO YOU AND HER STRESS. AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS OH?!” Jay yelled.

“How did I steal Sunny from you?” Jonghun asked. “Apprently all she think about is you now –“ Jay eyes enlarged when he realized he just reveal Sunny crush to her crush. 

“Sunny thinks about me?” Jonghun whispered to himself. “Oh ,” Jay said to himself.

“Nothing I’m just glad that you’re safe, come on I made reservation for us,” Jonghun said as he slipped his hand into Sunny’s and walked into the restaurant.

“You’re over exaggerating,” Joongki said as he got out the car. “I am not! What if she disappear again?!” Jay groaned.

“She with that guy that’s why she won’t disappear,” Joongki sneered. Jay raised  his left eyebrow as he sense jealously in the air. Jay chuckled to himself as if he was insane.

“Yah, Song Joongki, do you like Sunny?” Jay asked, amused. Joongki scoffed, “why would I like her?” “You know that guy Jonghun like her too right?” Jay said.

“What?! How?!” Joongki blurted out. “When I accidently told him Sunny liked him, I could see in his eyes that he liked her too.”

“WHAT?! SUNNY LIKE HIM TOO?!” Joongki whined.

Jay rolled his eyes and walked towards the entrance of a restaurant. “Don’t leave me~” Joongki said as he ran behind Jay. “Stop acting gay!” Jay pushed him away. “Don’t act like you don’t like it,” Joongki playfully winked.

Jay gagged to himself and opened the door.

“Welcome to Kimichi Bar, how many people?” The waitress asked. Joongki held up his index and middle finger. “Please follow me,” The waitress picked up two menus and led them to their table.

Joongki spun around and looked around the bar. He stopped when he spotted a familiar person. “Sunny?!”

Jay rolled his eyes again. He shook his head at Joongki, who started to become insane from Sunny. Jay turned around, “dude I know you like her, but –“

Jay squinted his eyes, “Oh Sunny!”

Sunny and Jonghun looked at the voice that came from the other side of the restaurant. “Oh Jay oppa!” Jay asked the waitress if they could be seated with Sunny and Jonghun. Joongki put his lip in a thin line and crossed his arms. “Stop being a sore loser,” Jay whispered to him.

The waitress pulled two chairs to Sunny’s table and placed the menu down. The waitress took their orders and left. “I’ll be back with your drinks and food.” Jay and Jonghun nodded.

Jay sat on Jonghun side while Joongki sat on Sunny side. “You already ate?” Jay asked. Jonghun shook his head, “We ordered right before the both of you came,” Jonghun replied.

“Oh! Jonghun this is Joongki. Joongki this is Jonghun,” Sunny introduced each other. Jay chuckled to himself and shook his head. “This is going to be a NICE LUNCHH.”

Sunny titled her head in confusion, “what you mean?” Joongki kicked Jay foot under the table. “nothing Sunny.” Jay hissed and groaned in pain. Jonghun looked at him weirdly and sipped on his sweet tea.

“Anyway nice to meet you,” Jonghun said, as he put out a hand to shake. Joongki hesitated for a moment but shook his hand. “I seen you on T.V.”

“Really?” Jonghun asked, amazed.

“Did you stalk me?” Sunny suddenly asked Jay. “What!?” Jay exclaimed. “I know I have a curfew and you’re still worried from what happened, but give me space.” Sunny said.

“Dude! I didn’t know you were here!” Jay argued. “Yeah right, like you knew I was in Jeju,” Sunny said innocently.

“You –“

“Here are your food and drinks,” The waitress placed Sunny and Jonghun food down infront of them then set Joongki and Jay drinks down. “Ou pasta~” Jay said as he reached for Sunny plate. Sunny hit his hand with her chopsticks, “no food for stalkers.”

Jay hissed at Sunny like a cat. Jonghun awkwardly ate his food as he realized Joongki was staring him down. ‘Why does this feel so familiar?’ Jonghun thought.

“I’m sorry why are you staring at me like that?” Jonghun asked.

Joongki plastered on a fake smile “Because you’re –“

Jay quickly grab the bread roll and stuffed it in Joongki mouth, “try this Joongki! It’s really good!” Jay stuffed his mouth with some bread and eyed Joongki. He shook his head and gave him the look that Sunny doesn’t know anything.

“Oh Jay I want to know what you did,” Sunny said.

“Did what?! I didn’t do anything!” Jay replied quickly. “You suddenly gave me a shout out on T.V. I know you did something, so what happened?” Sunny put down her chopstick and looked up at Jay,

Jonghun laughed, “Oh he –“ “OH JONGHUN EAT THIS BREAD IT IS SO GOOD!” Jay stuffed bread into his mouth and his eyes told him not to tell. Jonghun got the signal and spit out the bread. “He what?” Sunny asked. “He was dared to do it. I told him to give a shout out to this stalker, but he refused. Soooo he did you instead,” Jonghun covered up. Sunny looked at Jay and Jonghun weirdly, but shook the thought of them lying out of her mind.

“Whatever weirdos,” Sunny said. Joongki finally realized the flowers on Sunny side, “who got you flowers?” Sunny pointed at Jonghun who smiled and looked at Sunny. Joongki scowled and gave Jonghun another stare down.

Jonghun sensed Joongki staring again and awkwardly looked away. “Here’s you’re food,” The waitress said as she placed Jay and Joongki food down.

“Sunny this is good, try this,” Jonghun said as he twirled some pasta with his fork and held it in front of Sunny. Gladly, she ate the noodle and held two thumbs up.

Joongki had his mouth slight ajar. Jealously rose inside of him as he picked up his fork and twirled some of his ramen and held it in front Jay, “try this. It’s good.”

Jay stared at weirdly with enlarge eyes, “Dude!” Jay slapped his hands away and ate his food. Sunny laughed while Jonghun continued to think if Joongki was interested in guys or not.

After the long day everyone departed ways and went home. Sunny and Jay were in their apartment getting ready for bed. “I should really buy a new bed for you,” Jay said. Sunny shook her head, “the couch is good enough oppa. I know you’re tired of dealing with me,”

Jay sighed and sat on his bed and watched Sunny as she went into his closet to grab some of her PJ’s that consisted shorts and big tee.

“Sunny you know that isn’t true,” Jay said. “How about we share beds?” Jay insisted. Sunny went into his bathroom and changed. She came out tossed her closed to the dirty basket and ran to his bed. She jumped on it and got comfortable, “took you long enough to ask.”

“I would’ve assume you already got yourself comfortable when you first came here,” Jay said. “I WOULD’VE, but those first couple of days you had digestion problems and kept farting!” Sunny giggled.

Jay shoved Sunny, “no need to speak of it.” Sunny look at the time on the clock. She yawned and closed her eyes, “I think I’m going to bed first.” Jay kissed her on the temple, “good night sleeping beast.” “Good night,” Sunny said before she dozed off.

Jay turned off the light and walked out the room. He slightly left the room open and walked out onto the living room balcony. The night chills hit him making him shiver. He pulled his cardigan tighter around himself and sat down on one of the balcony chair. He crossed one arm on top of the other and looked to the skies that were getting darker.

He closed his eyes and thought back at the conversation he had with Sunny in the car when they were on the way home from Seoul.

“I saw my brother.”

“What you mean you saw your brother?” Jay asked, confused. Sunny shook her head, “I know it was Jun, I know it…He was wearing that necklace I gave to on his birthday.” Jay slumped on his seat and looked forward. He wondered if this day could get any more frustrating.

“Why didn’t you tell me so we could stay in Jeju to look for him?” Jay asked. “Because I’m not ready…” Sunny replied, quietly. “Ready for what?” Jay asked.

“To face him.”

Jay opened his eyes and found a worried feeling inside of him. He knew that from this point on nothing will be going right. He got up and walked back into the complex. Jay locked the balcony door and turned off the lights in the house.

He walked into his room and got into bed. Sunny was curled up, sleeping peacefully. Jay smiled contently and closed his eyes.

“I know I’m not able to protect you everytime, but I’ll be there every time you make a step.”
