Ichikawa Yui's Disrespect and Mao's New Project

Third Time's The Charm

11:15 AM

Erika stared at the clock. God this was so boring. When would the damn bell ring and signify lunchtime for them? She was feeling extremely faint after that little spell of hers with a man she was almost sure was imaginary now. In fact she’d been so tired that she hadn’t said hi to Mao, the guy behind Mao who looked a bit fuzzy to her at the moment, and Jun. So as Erika slumped on her desk she concluded that she had no effort left and this English class was the most boring one she’d been to in a long time. Megumi had warned her that it wouldn’t be fun today. Still Erika hadn’t thought it would be so bad she’d be tempted to skip.

She looked at Jun and Mao beside her. For once they weren’t arguing and nor were they talking. It was odd seeing them so quiet with each other. Her eyes drifted downwards to where Jun’s gaze was falling and saw that she was texting someone with her fast fingers. Yes she wouldn’t be able to talk to Jun today. She looked too into whatever it was she was doing.

“Eri-ka-chan.” She heard a person say behind her and she turned around to look at the person and saw that it was someone familiar.

“Do I know you?” She asked smiling but her heart was already beating fast and she could feel the blush rising up on her face. Behind her back she felt Mao turn around and look at them, she could always feel when one of her friends did something, she was just that close and intuitive with them.

“You bumped into me today morning remember?” The boy said and Erika shook her head trying to place him when the boy suddenly moved into her face and she yelped a little and pushed herself back while the boy grinned widely.

“Just like last time neh? No fainting involved this time though.” He teased his face in his hand.

She’d obviously out.

“EHHHHHHHHHH! What are you doing here? What the- I thought you’re a visitor…you aren’t supposed to be here anymore. And you were extremely close to my-“ She suddenly realized that the teacher had stopped talking and was staring at her and Koyama, as she now remembered his name.

“Toda-san, refrain please from this. And here I was thinking that you would be different from our dearest Inoue-san.” He said looking at them with a look on his face that showed he was clearly teasing both her and Mao. Thank god this was English and the professor was a westernized man, otherwise she might have gotten kicked out of class for making such a racket.

She turned around and the teacher continued reading out the sheet but every once in a while she tried to look subtly, in vain, at Koyama-kun. She couldn’t help it. It was odd having someone like him behind her!

Mao turned to look at her friend with a confused expression and then glared at Koyama thinking he would turn around and catch her glare but Koyama seemed caught up in staring at Erika while leaning on his desk and looking at her. She turned her head towards Erika and caught her doing almost the same thing …and with that an evil grin came upon her face. She flipped out her phone and immediately started texting her brother. Oh yes, she would make sure that Erika would have her first kiss now too! It was only fair, they’d always been together whining about how they’d been left behind by Maki and Megumi.

There was no way she’d let Erika fall behind her.

Koyama…since when do you know Erika? She thought grinning happily. Oh how could this have not occurred to her? It was just too perfect.

Her brother, the playboy who charmed his way into far too many women’s grasps, perhaps Erika would finally be able to teach him something. Mao knew that if Erika started talking to a boy normally they would immediately fall in love with her, but that in itself was such a rare occurrence. Koyama found women too understandable. He could predict their every move, around him at least. Perhaps Erika found finally break his radar!

He couldn’t predict his darling sister’s moves though Mao remembered as he’d always stomp his feet whenever he saw her jump on someone randomly. That was all he could really predict. The fact that she would jump on someone at any given time.

“Operation Koyerika…is now active hun.” She muttered to herself and then quickly turned around to face Jun who glanced at her oddly.

Jun realized that Mao had been avoiding her the whole morning and thus had left her by herself. He was beating himself up at how stupid he’d been last night. Mao had been ing and ing about how she hadn’t found any gossip recently and he’d gone up and offered himself, albeit unknowingly, like a dumb last night.

What was she going to do if not take his information? His juicy information? He squinted a little and glanced up at the girl who was staring at him now with an anxious look on her face. He almost didn’t mind that she sold his information off if it kept her afloat on her little mini pedestal on Eitoku. He was after all meant for bigger things than this.

He quickly finished texting the questions he’d had for the meeting that he’d have later today evening with the recipient of his message and quickly sent it off to her. With that done he raised his eyes to look Mao in the face and she looked a little ashamed almost as if she wished she didn’t sell the ‘Jun’ she knew out. Jun didn’t really care though because all the information she had would probably mess up due to the fact everyone thought he was a girl.

He just hoped that Mao wasn’t smart enough to figure out what was happening around her. Who was there beside her…or did he hope that she would figure it out so that he didn’t have to hold back any longer?

No. He didn’t. He would befriend Mao, gain respect for her worthless gender, and then leave the country with his secret intact and buried.

That was the way it was supposed to go. There would be no unexpected turns and twists of fate.

“Stop looking at me like that baka.” Mao said to him and Jun realized he’d been staring at her eyes rather powerfully if he said so himself and he offered her a small grin and quickly shook himself out of the daze that automatically existed when Mao was around him.

“What the hell are you talking about you crazy ?”

“You and I. Duh.” She said suddenly and Jun blushed a little. He couldn’t help it! She said it so casually. Dumb women, they really were. Did he really look like that much of a woman that she could say such things without a worry in her mind?

He hated the fact that Aya had such good connections here that she’d been able to make Jun look like such a good girl.

“You and I are going to work together. To get Erika over her fear of men…at least for one man.” She said giving Erika a small unbelieving look.

“Why not over all men?” He truthfully didn’t feel that Erika was afraid of men. Her psyche was able to sense his presence as a man he was sure because hormones did that sort of thing. She wasn’t at all afraid of him, it was something else he was so sure but he just nodded along with Mao.

“Please. I know Erika far better than you Jun…please don’t argue cause I already know that it’s going to be far too hard getting her to accept just one man to touch her.” She said rather loudly and Erika turned around and looked at her shocked and gave a look that said she was going to choke her but Jun noticed she hid the look from the boy behind her and she glanced back at him just for the slightest bit of a second.

“Erika likes…someone? Other than Kame-san?” Jun said looking quite shocked. The short time he’d been here he’d learnt quickly that Erika’s ‘one-and-only’ love of her life was Kamenashi Kazuya. The man he was to be meeting with soon to discuss the merging of their companies when the two of them came of age. Why his mother wanted him to take care of this business while he was here was preposterous…especially when both of them could be so easily revealed by the other as fake and their private lives exposed. Kamenashi was nothing like the calm business man he appeared to be when he followed his dad into meetings. He was a rebel rocker who barely had a conscience and spent most of his time around Ginza in a host club with Akanishi Jin.

Need Jun even explain himself and the odd predicament here where he was dressed as a girl?

Jun looked outside the window and frowned as he saw Kamenashi outside enjoying a smoke with Ueda Tatsuya and Akanishi Jin.

He turned to look at Erika. Yeah he had no idea how the love Erika felt for Kame had started. He looked at Mao and shook his head.

She looked back at him for a long time and he stared her down right back as if trying to pinpoint what they were doing.

“Gomen ne,” She said suddenly and turned back around and sat keeping herself as far away from him as possible.
For a second he glanced down and saw that on his phone the same exact words were written but by an entirely different girl.

“Gomen ne huh?” He said his mouth quirking up in a funny smile. Ahh this was to be his life for a very long time. He had to get used to the foul creatures rejecting him with these horrible words.

“I’ll help you. If it gets Erika to finally open up I’ll help you.” Jun said finally waiting for Mao to turn around and smile at him as she had started doing more frequently since yesterday, that was the effect being Toma’s girlfriend had on her. He felt a small little burn in his throat and realized that was his stomach acid rising up to come out as puke.

That was the effect Mao being Toma’s girlfriend had on him.
Sure enough three seconds later after this thought Mao didn’t disappoint him in the least as she turned around and granted him one of her not so treasured smiles anymore. But she added an extra bomb, almost as if she knew he was used to her smile now…she winked.

And Jun grumbled as he felt the stupid loss of breath again. It had calmed down on her smiles; he’d gained some form of immunity to it. Now whenever she smiled he would smile back at her and not just look like a dumb fish.

He had to go get his Mao wink shot now.

“Don’t do that.” He said shortly.

“Why not?” She asked frowning and pouting. Oh god, she definitely shouldn’t do that. It made him want to wipe it off her face and replace it with shock. Women were so…dumb. Did they really have no idea what effect some things they did normally had on men? He doubted it. They couldn’t be that dumb. And if they were they deserved every ounce of his hate that they received. If they were this dumb he was never ever going to respect their race.

“You look like a lesbian.” He said unable to come up with anything else. All he knew was he didn’t want her to do it again…at least not while he was pretending to be a girl. It would become too hard to restrain himself from her. Which was already quite a hassle.

“Good god…you Americans are really against the gay community aren’t you? Then I’ll talk to Koyama and you, him and I are going to set up the most fabulous date everrrr for Riks!! It’s going to be like flowers, and candles, and all the stuff Erika keeps blabbing about all the time that she wants in her relationships. Oh and we’ll rent Koyama a bike.” She said looking out at Kame who was revving his and waved at him.

He offered Mao a nod of recognition and right beside him Ueda and Jin blew kisses at her and she ducked her head away shyly as she was supposed to. Ever since the beginning of last year those two had favoured her more so than others. To a certain extent even accepted her middle class status. Jin however was a little bit more affectionate with her as he suddenly started air hugging to signify he wanted to hug her and Jun glared down at the man. God that idiot was so obvious about his affections. It was pathetic.

“And yeah and of course we’ll have to add some chocolate cause chocolate is like the best aphrodisiac and-Jun…jun…you’re not listening to me. JUN!” Mao yelled loudly finally.

“INOUE-SAN!” The teacher yelled out at her with an extremely angry look on his face.

“I thought now that you and Ikuta-san have been separated from being in the same class it would be easier to handle you two but it seems not to be the matter. Please…behave a bit more like a lady Inoue-san.” The teacher spoke in English and Mao nodded back not really caring all that much. It seemed futile to her for the teacher even try explaining something to the ruler of the school.

“Hai hai…continue on sensei.”

“Professor.”

“Ne ne pofesserou.”

“Professor Inoue-san. Proofessor. Accent on the rr sound Inoue-san.”

“Professor please stop this it’s not like she’s going to get it anyways. She’s a hick from the bad part of town. Have you no class Mao-san?” A girl said suddenly and Jun couldn’t help but push his eyes up to see who had the guts to insult Mao.

There she was staring at her with such hatred on her face that it made Mao wonder if she had ruined her life some time ago. Had she once upon a time? Was she the girl who had a third ? Oh god it was that girl wasn’t it? Mao had always known that she would get revenge on her. It was to be expected.

“Excuse me. What did you say to my sister?” Koyama said suddenly standing up and Mao realized she had forgotten that her brother was here.

“Really Koyama shinpai-“

“You shut up Mao…you always had a problem standing up for yourself. What’s your name smart ?” Mao glared at him and huffed. Problem standing up for herself!? Please what on earth did she do the whole time she was a best friend to Aki? And when she came here…how on earth did she become gossip queen! She was going to kill Koyama if he jeopardized her position in the school hierarchy.

“Ichikawa. Ichikawa Yui the transfer student. First day here and I’ve already heard everything your y little sister does and how she hangs onto boys, especially Yamapi as if he’s her lover. Like hell. What a .” Yui said staring back at Koyama already not taking his comment seriously. Koyama could feel the y rich vibes coming off this girl and they felt higher than he’d ever experienced and being around Blair he’d experienced quite the horrible y rich vibes.

“All this because you were so deep in your texting.” Mao said hitting Jun on the head as he accidentally pressed the send button and the message whizzed away from him and he yelped and glared at Mao who shrugged and turned back around.

Great now the recipient of his message was going to get the wrong idea, he couldn’t help but think. He’d put love at the end by accident…he’d been meaning to erase it but his finger slipped and instead pressed the send button. He just hoped now that she wouldn’t take it the way he’d meant it to be.

12:00 PM

“Okay what the …Aya you aren’t supposed to be totally boring you know. I thought you might liven up a bit after sometime of shyness. Not maintain your totally boring personality.” Shun said spinning his stirrer in his iced tea.

“Of course I am.” She replied easily as she stared at her cell phone texting back quickly to someone who had been continuously texting her throughout the duration of their entire afternoon. The person was pissing Shun off… a lot. Aya never texted anyone like this before but then again he hadn’t seen Aya for close to six years.

Who the hell was he to know how Aya was now? Who the hell was he to care?

Her brother, automatically his brain answered. He had never ever found out if he was older or not. In the summer he’d been in New York he hadn’t really had real conversations with Aya…but then again he had been just 10. He couldn’t have even been expected to carry on proper deep discussions with anyone, least of all the weirdo Aya.

Who he kind of missed by the way.

Aya didn’t bother telling anyone what she liked because she liked to ‘keep it Mr.Ious’ she would have said in a in-your-face tone ten years ago.

“So talk to me about father.” He pleaded almost ready to shoot his brains out from the boredom he faced. For a moment Aya looked up at him and grinned evilly before hearing a sudden beep and she looked back down.

“That’s a first.” She stated shortly and Shun almost felt like choking her for her short mocking answer.

“Don’t you think I know that? This itself was a first. I thought I’d escape boredom from my class with you but perhaps English may have even been better than this.” He said and Aya stared at the phone in a shocked manner and Shun couldn’t help but wonder what it said on it. Sneakily he got ready to leap over the table and grab the phone.

Which is exactly what he did just as the phone started vibrate once more. As Aya felt the loss of the mini battery charged item in her hand she screamt and started getting ready to jump on Shun from across the high class table of the Oak Door in Roppongi of all places.

“Jun…who’s this Jun? Why does he love you??” He said as she grabbed the phone back from him and put it away into her purse.

“Look…some things are really private Shun all right? I really can’t tell you. It’s- it’d be wrong ‘kay?” She said not bothering to look at the message or listen to Shun as she shoved it into her purse. She couldn’t risk him doing that yet. Conversations she had with Jun were meant to be completely private and off-limits to everyone.

Looking at her watch she started tapping her fingers, impatiently until she could open her cell again in a safe place where no one would grab and see. She had to take the utmost precausions now. She felt too guilty about what had happened yesterday morning anyways.

And Jun would definitely murder her if he found out that she’d let it slip to someone in Eitoku on top of the others, cough her brother cough.

On top of that…Jun had been questioning her about Ryo in his earlier messages after forgiving her in the morning. He was asking her why she’d, she paused her thoughts to grasp onto her hair almost wanting to pull it out, been with Ryo last night. He’d wanted a clear answer. Unlike the weird ones they’d both offered each other last night.

She remembered the feeling of safety she’d felt as Ryo’s arms encircled her. How could she not falter? How could she not want to just sink into him so that she didn’t exist…but was only a part of him. She would give up her life for him, as scary as it sounded even to her. She started feeling the tears rising in her eyes. She was faltering now… just a couple of days Jun had disappeared from her life and she’d already started weakening back into her cycle of Ryo-ness.

What was worse she had made the mistake of feeling things for Jun now. Yes, of course she felt things for him… even if they weren’t romantic. She realized how badly she wanted them to be though, who could blame her? Loving Jun would be so much easier than-

She felt a tear slide out and quickly wiped it and thought of something else.

Jun really didn’t know about her slip in telling Nate, or Blair, or Serena. She’d tell him tonight over dinner though she promised herself. He didn’t deserve to be caught out by gossip girl just yet and knowing that weirdo girl she probably had connections even in Nihon.

“What happened Aya? What the happened to you?” Shun said finally pissed off with her behaviour. There was no way she was treating him like this. Finally seeing her brother after such a long time and she was talking to him as if he was a complete stranger.

He wasn’t used to this kind of treatment, at least not from her. With Aya she would tell him everything annoyingly as she sat on his back, calling it a massage for him when really she just found it comfy. She would ruffle his hair and take pictures with him where both their smiles were fake but cute. She would… about him to her friends yes but at least she’d do it with her normal expression. The look on her face right now was too dead for Shun to comprehend. He couldn’t understand or recognize the Aya in front of him as the same one he’d known what seemed like so long ago now.

“What do you mean?” She asked confused and he could see the annoyance rising on her face. Would annoying her bring out the Aya he remembered? If it would he’d do it. He wanted to prove himself to the one he remembered. Not to this vegetable.

“I mean you’re one of the most boring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. How did you fall down the list of most interesting? What the hell have you done to yourself?” He asked her truthfully interested but his voice must have been far too emotionless and his words too harsh because the moment he finished talking he saw Aya break down her frustration by banging the table.

“Shut up Jun. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE ME! Not right now. I can’t fake who I am and if you don’t like me like this. Well get over it. THIS IS ME! I don’t have to change myself to ing fit your standards.” She yelled and stood up and walked out of the restaurant as Shun stared at her confused. Jun…? Why was that name sounding so familiar to him right now? As if he heard it on a daily basis.

And why had Aya uttered that name instead of his own?

And why on earth did it bother him that she’d treated him as if he was an outsider?

Previews:

“You , you are seriously the worst sister ever. I am not going to do this. I don’t even do weird like this in New York. I knew it was a mistake coming down here with Aya and Ryo.”

“Jun this is not about you, god you are so selfish coming from America, especially New York you must be just as much of a player as my brother here. So seriously get over it. Let Erika at least get her first kiss will you?”

“You lost your job? How could you have lost your job Erika?”

“So can you just come in and talk to the club mistress for me Jun? You were obviously in there cause you knew her right? Almost all the people in the club that night were there because they knew Iwase-sama.”

“A straight okama? Ha?”

“It’s fine Aki-chan. I’ll be stopping by to say hello to Rosa neh? Tell her to expect me and not be sitting on any guy’s laps today or I’ll get mad.”
