The New Bore and Shun's Done For?

Third Time's The Charm
Enjoy guys!!!

8:15 A Hotel Room.

Aya stared at her phone and looked at the picture that graced it’s limited edition screen. It was one of her and Jun doing the peace sign together and posing like fashion models with y pouts on the Balenciaga runway. In fact it had been taken exactly there. In the front row seats of one of the best shows of Paris Fashion Week.

His hair had been curly that day, an out of the ordinary look for him. He was glaring into the camera in his charcoal Hugo Boss suit. Her much shorter hair was flicked at the edges and tres chic with her punk rock gear that she could still remember had deluded the backstage attendants of the show as to how she got the front row seat, and more so how a guy like Jun was with her. They all knew him in Paris as well. Who didn’t? His aunt was one of the best designers in the business, his father and mother both ran incredibly successful business, and he was constantly in magazines for fighting with guys, especially his London rival Hiraoka Yuuta, his cousin from his mother’s side.

Where had that boy gone? The one with that fierce expression on his face who had taken charge of everything and always put a smile on her face nevertheless. She felt like in the couple of weeks she’d spent away from him he’d completely changed. He’d turned into…a bit of a girl, to be honest about it. He was crazily emotional about everything!!

Or had he always been that way but was holding out on her? She couldn’t really be sure anymore could she? Perhaps he’d always been trying to keep her safe from being hurt. He’d always been the perfect friend and kept his own emotions and woes to himself while she unloaded all her worries on his already probably heavily burdened back.

She was a horrible friend. She crashed back onto the bed and muffled her face in the pillow yelling slightly.

Okay she would call him.

She lifted herself up and wrapped her legs beneath the comforter for extra warmth as she pressed one and it speed dialled to Jun’s phone. With every ring of the tone she felt her heart speed up and finally she heard the click of someone picking up their phone.

Good at least he didn’t hang up on her. Or more likely he probably hadn’t checked who it was on the line.

“Listen I really don’t have time today ‘kay Erika? I’ll call you tonight I promise it’s just Mao forgot to wake me-“

“Never did let the other person get out a word did you?” Aya said finally on the line as she heard a deep breathing sound on the other side. This was so typical of Jun, when he didn’t want to face a problem he pretended that it didn’t exist. Just like she didn’t exist on the phone right now. He was probably shocked out of his wits he’d been stupid enough to pick up the phone.

Or he was grinning like an idiot that she already wanted to make amends but seeing his face from yesterday she was betting on the former.

“Junny Bunny? Come now. Don’t ignore me. It’s both our faults. We both hurt each other last night…well over the course of yesterday. We just had a bad day all right? I just want to say. It’s been- I can’t explain it on the phone but what I can say is gomen ne,” She said in Japanese and for some reason found the words to flow much easier in that language than in English. I’m sorry seemed so much harder to say but for some reason she could leak out the words in her mother tongue. She thanked god he would be able to understand her.

“I’m late Aya. What do you want me to say? I forgive you and I’m sorry too? Fine I forgive you. ”

She heard him pause as if he was trying to work up the guts for something and then she heard him finally say it and it brought a huge grin on her face. Of course they could get through this. They’d be together at the Christmas fashion show for Balenciaga as well. Just like they’d been there for the Fall RTW one.

“I’m sorry too,” She heard him say as quickly as possible and hang up on her without a goodbye and she knew it was because he didn’t want to be perceived as any weaker. Accepting a girl’s faults, her mistakes, he rarely did it with anyone but her. Even so he tried to keep his long forgotten, to her at least, macho image.

As she flopped back on the bed she was glad. She was glad she didn’t have to worry about Jun being mad at her for now. Or at least he wasn’t mad at her yet. She’d have to tell him everything tonight. Of course he’d understand that she’d brought along their friends. The fact she’d let it slip to them that he was pretending to be a girl…maybe not so much. But she could still explain it and they could get through this. She was sure of it. She wasn’t even going to address the whole Ryo issue. Cause really in the end it had nothing to do with Jun. And if she addressed it she’d end up saying mean things again and so would he and that was not something she wanted happening especially since she was here only for him.

Plus she’d only brought their friends along because she’d thought he’d want to be normal around them again. She’d thought he would have been craving normal. So if he couldn’t come to it in New York she thought that perhaps she could bring it to him.

Plus Blair had gotten all excited at the idea because apparently one of her closest friends had recently relocated to Tokyo so she had encouraged everyone else to tag along.

Her screensaver was all the pictures in her phone flashing by and as she glanced at what their picture was morphing into she saw it was a picture of the girl from last night that had charmed Chuck and Shun.

That she had no idea what to do about. Should she call him? She was confused and felt quite nervous actually, she couldn’t help it. She always got this adrenaline rush when she talked to the brother she pretended to hate so dearly. It was odd but she liked it and him. Especially fighting with him. It was so daytime T.V.

If Jun had answered the phone, Shun probably would too. No matter how annoying he thought she was he’d always answered her phones. Never actually called her back but always answered them.

Plus she should probably let him know of their arrival in Tokyo. She found herself grinning evilly as she dialled the number. She couldn’t wait to hear his freaked out voice.

8:30 AM In English

Shun sat beside Megumi looking at her quietly as she fiddled with her pencil case.

“What?” Megumi asked as she saw him stare at her and Shun shrugged and turned away. There was nothing special about staring at Megumi, how could she even think that? Then again Megumi thought everyone thought she was uber special and attractive.

“Nothing,” He said and looked at his own paper. It was blank, then he looked up at the board it was blank too. It looked like it was going to be one of those English classes where the sensei would hand out a note and the people in the class had to read off it while most of them slept soundly.

Suddenly he felt a buzz on his thigh and immediately leant down to flick his cell phone open and save himself from this utter boredom. He loved the fact that you were able to talk in class here. Well…he loved the fact he was able to talk in class here. He was after all the great Oguri Shun. Much as Maki had hit his self esteem in the past couple of days. He didn’t bother looking at who was calling; anyone would be better than this horrible class.

“MoshiMoshi Shunn-nii!”

Okay so maybe he was wrong, maybe not everything was better than the boring English lesson. There were things worse, like …for example annoying girl who thought she was his sister.

He hung up on her immediately and Megumi turned towards him at the sound of the closing of the cell phone.

“Who was it?” She asked interested as she folded her fingers together in such way it seemed purely Machiavellian.

“No one,” Shun replied quickly and while she looked at him oddly. She’d always been good at sneaking out when people didn’t want to talk about things. No wonder she was taking psychology with Toma.

“It can’t be ‘no one’ Shun. I could hear the soundwaves from over there. No one usually got no soundwaves.” She said and laughed at her own lame joke of replacing any with no. Shun raised an eyebrow shaking his head and turned back to his paper.

“Such a wrecker.” He muttered to her as he lay his head down on the table.

He paid no attention to Megumi and found that as he lifted his head, sure enough, Shun found himself facing a bunch of white sheets and immediately stood up and looked the teacher in the eye.

“Ehh…sumimasen. I forgot something at the dorms. Could I go retrieve it sensei?” He asked politely so as not to undermine the teacher’s authority but didn’t bother waiting for the answer as he left the classroom.

As he shut the door behind him he winked at Megumi as he left and she gave him the tiniest of thumbs up so he could see she approved of his skipping. Ahh poor girl stuck reading. Then again she’d always loved English class.

It wasn’t like the teacher was going to make him stay anyways. He was the son of Takaichiro Oguri. No one would bug Shun if Shun didn’t want to be bugged.

He whipped out his cell phone and saw Aya’s number there. He realized that he’d never actually hung up on her properly. Every single time she’d called him he’d hang up and call her back close to three or four seconds later.

It was a reflex for him he supposed as he started feeling his fingers move in her number’s directions and eventually his hand rose up towards his ear and he could feel the buzz of the ring sounding through his mind.

It was also the most annoying ring he’d ever heard but he didn’t hang up and waited for that creepy sister of his to pick up the phone.

“OMG Guess what Chuck? I made amends with Jun and bugged my brother all in one morning. Bow down to the Aya master!! Call Nate and tell him too. Except actually don’t. Nate’s a . A huge one! Wait…I didn’t mean it that way! I meant he was an ! I mean…a jerk yes. I’ll shut up now. Why aren’t you replying?” He heard her finally say.

Aya looked confused down at her legs as she pulled the phone back so she could examine it and saw the name that had actually called her instead of Chuck.

Shun heard the loudest ooooooh from the other side and couldn’t help the tiniest smile that came on his face.

“MoshiMoshi Shun-nii? What’s up? Decided to call me back didn’t you? Haha knew it. Can’t deny me can you? Cause I’m your beautiful lovable awesome crazy athletic and supercal-”

“Please I can’t bear to hear you praise yourself more than what you actually are brat. Get ready I’ll be at the Ritz in exactly 30 minutes. You’re any later than that and I’m not hanging out with you.” He said deciding to give her a chance. He was actually going to tell her to off because she hadn’t told him they’d be coming down here. Last night he’d gotten a call from Ryo telling him that the two were there and Aya would probably contact him today morning. He realized now though that he hadn’t seen Aya for a long time. He really did want to find out what the hell happened between Aya and Ryo back in New York and finally clear out the doubt in his mind that his brother had done anything half wrong. He wished Mao was there actually with him. He could find her and take her with him but she was probably with Koyama as Ryo had told him last night. Plus he didn’t have time to deal with Aya bouncing around the bush, and she most likely would with Mao with the two.

He didn’t want to talk to Aya actually…he didn’t even want to see her really.

Liar. He thought to himself. Of course he wanted to see her.

Aya…after six years. He couldn’t help but ponder on what she’d look like due to the fact he hadn’t bothered seeing any of the cards they sent him. His mother had always sent pictures of himself to his of a father though and he’d sent Ryo one picture of Maki and himself together that he was sure had found it’s way into Aya’s hands.

If Ryo-nii really did want to marry her Shun couldn’t help but think that Aya had to be quite a stunner. After all, there had to be something good about her which completely captured the soul and body if she could entrance someone as intolerant and straight laced as Ryo-nii

She had to be someone like Mao, or Maki. Someone with none of the faults of Megumi, being too promiscuous, or Erika, not being seductive enough.

Shun had no idea what was going to hit him.

9:30 AM Outside the Ritz

Shun grinned as he glanced at his watch. Right on time. He’d said a later time so he would make Aya end up waiting for him. He stepped out of the taxi, giving a small thanks to the cab driver and entered the hotel. Sure he looked out of place in his school uniform but just because it was the Eitoku uniform no one came up to him and asked him what the hell he was doing in one of the best hotels in the world during school hours.

He walked to the front desk with his long stride and glanced around the room for a crazy looking girl. He couldn’t help it. As dignified as Aya had looked in front of him even at the age of ten he couldn’t help but think of her as a bit of a maniac.

There was only one girl Aya’s age in the lobby though and this girl sure as hell wasn’t Aya. The girl sitting down on the long chaise was extremely beautiful, she had wide set eyes and gorgeous bone structure. Just the type of girl he might decide to cheat on Maki with.

But thankfully that wasn’t really an option anymore. He was single, free of Maki and their fake relationship. When he’d told Hiro of what he’d done Hiro had promptly asked him out for a drink to check out some new chicks. Though Shun had decided he’d calm down and not go after a girl right away.
But for a small fling with this girl who was obviously a foreigner of some sort by the clothes she was dressed in he could change his mind.

He walked upto her slowly but saw that she had no change in her face. She stayed frozen like a statue glancing at her phone and texting back things every now and then he seemed. He paused in front of her and bent down to be on length with her and saw some familiar curls falling on the girl’s pale collarbone. She still hadn’t realized that there was some random guy in front of her staring at her. What on earth was so important to her that she was texting like a crazy person? He cleared his throat a little and suddenly her face shot in his direction and gave the widest smile ever.
Shun’s eyes widened with fear. Oh no…no…this smile seemed to familiar…too evil…this couldn’t be-

“SHUN-NIIII!!!” She said suddenly out of nowhere and he felt the woman’s body hit his with full force as she pushed herself off the chair and onto his bent frame pushing him to the ground. Now he felt like he hadn’t looked at her close enough though he’d been in front of her face for at least five minutes. This couldn’t be possible! A girl like this who resembled his Maki so much couldn’t possible be the Aya who he’d hated so dearly for most of his life! It didn’t add up!

Oh god he’d thought of having a fling with her.

He could practically feel the bile rise up in his throat at the memory of that thought that had its appeal completely changed at this new revelation.

He pushed her off him.

“Don’t hug me. Not in public at least.” He said looking around to see if anyone had caught a picture of it. Thankfully no one seemed to have their cell phones out snapping pictures of him so it seemed that he was safe for the time being.

He looked at her closer now; yeah she was definitely tiny like the rest of the girl’s he knew. Short as hell. Then again compared to his towering height everyone else was shorter than him. His mother had shoved milk down his throat like a crazy person when he’d been young. He’d almost hated her as much as Aya until he’d heard her reason for it.

‘THIS WAY MAO-CHAN WON’T BE TALLER THAN YOU WHEN YOU GET MARRIED! GANBATTE THAT’S YOUR TENTH GLASS OF MILK TODAY! GANBATTE DON’T PUKE YET SHUN-CHAN! MAO PROBABLY DOESN’T LIKE GUYS WHO PUKE!’

That reminded him he had to go talk to his mother about Maki and how she’d been too rude with her. Maki’s insecurities about him could only have started with the holiday and he couldn’t even dream of bringing home another girl if his mother was going to act like that. He just wished she’d realize that there was no hope for himself and Mao like he had just accepted over time.

Then again Maki and him had probably fought and he’d been so drunk that now he didn’t remember it at all and his mother had nothing to do with it.

“Oi Shun-nii…not to sound freaky but you’re kind of directing your eyes in a spot I don’t feel so comfortable with you looking at it.” Shun blinked and realized he was staring at her chest, not on purpose of course…his eyes had just kind of fallen there. He suddenly turned around and rubbed his face. Great, he was already giving Aya more ammunition to stick with calling him a freak of nature. He’d decided a long time ago when he’d come back to Tokyo after that summer in New York he’d prove her wrong.

He was lying to himself again…he’d really only gotten muscular and strong and stuff at around fourteen and he’d been too shy with any girl who wasn’t Mao back then. Actually he’d found himself even more motivated around the time that he’d heard about Aya and Ryo’s indecencies.

He hoped he wasn’t blushing as he rubbed his face and turned around again and saw her staring at him as if expecting an explanation as to his unconscious erted behaviour.

“Please Aya. You aren’t a girl…quite flat as well. I’ve even d better. Plus having them fall on you and hit you especially flat ones don’t make them appealing to you. My chest still hurts! So there’s no need for me to stare at non-existent ones. Come on…we’re going out to lunch.” Another lie… Maki was the first girl he even remotely thought of doing anything with.

He realized he was starting ahead without her and turned around and paused to watch her slowly offer him a smile as she started to follow him properly. Why was she being so quiet? She was never this quiet usually…or at least from what he remembered of Aya. She was a complete chatterbox who couldn’t shut up. Even on the phone today morning she couldn’t shut up!

He remembered Aya as this annoying, pesty little brat but the girl…no the woman in front of him didn’t resemble the Aya he’d known so long ago at all. There was that same bouncy curly hair that would bounce with her every step and those same beautiful cheekbones that he’d often found himself wondering if were fake but right now she looked rather bland and boring.

Blech.

Aya had never ever been like that. For some reason, the idea that Aya had changed like this since their first meeting was enough to get him greatly pissed at Ryo.

(Memory)

“SHUN! YOU’RE PLAYING WITH ME!!” Aya said bouncing into the room with her happy smile on her face as she sat down beside the boring Shun on his plush four-poster bed. He was lying down trying to solve some extremely hard equation or the other as he usually did. What a nerd, she mocked in her head but pretended to be nice as she jumped on his back with all the force she could. It was typical of her to do this when he ignored her presence and didn’t immediately reply to her.

His reactions to this were always immediate however. Right now he was yelling and trying to get her off him.

He was unsuccessful…also as usual.

“Who told you that?” He questioned still yelping at the immense weight he was feeling on his back. Oh yes, his old age would be quite the painful time for him now he was sure. Due to Aya’s constant jumping on random parts of his body. He was used to this now, but if he were to see her anytime after he left New York he knew that his body wouldn’t be able to survive the abuse she inflicted on it on a daily basis usually.

“Otou-san! He says you’re too much of a recluse to even consider leading the main corporation and if you don’t straighten up he won’t even let you lead the Asian offices. You’ll be brokeee hahaa like the POOR PEOPLE!” She said and with every ugly sound of laughter that exited Shun felt her push down harder on his back. Having enough of it he summoned up all his strength, which was close to none and pushed her off him.

He hadn’t meant to do it with such force that she fell off the bed though. He was sure he hadn’t.

So as he saw her hit the ground hard he bit his tongue knowing exactly what would follow. Living even just a week with Aya taught you all of her mannerisms, and how she’d behave in most situations.

Immediately she started crying and he saw Ryo-nii rush into his room. Seeing Aya on the ground he cast an accusing look at Shun and Aya behind Ryo’s back winked at Shun. Shun glared back at her, what a conniving girl. She was far too evil to exist.

“SHUN-“ Ryo started yelling but Aya suddenly yelped and held onto her ankle.

What the ? Didn’t she know even that much that falling on your didn’t hurt your ankle. Please…Ryo-nii couldn’t be falling for this Shun thought in his head but what actually played out in front of him was quite different than what the logical Shun thought would have happened.

His super intelligent brother immediately stopped and bent down in front of Aya so that he was facing her and he turned around and bent down lower.

“If it doesn’t hurt too much try and get on my back Aya-chan.” He said and while it sounded calm Shun could see that from the slightest tremor at Aya’s name that his brother was nervous. WHAT FOR? Aya was too big a brat really to exist. It wasn’t even like she was a pretty sister that his brother had to worry about having her get hurt for her looks!

Ryo-nii was being nice he hoped finally and left it at that as he saw Aya slowly touch his back and climb onto it and Shun couldn’t help but glare at the two.

Aya with her shy expression as she leant into Ryo, why didn’t she behave that way with him? What was so great about Ryo-nii? Why was she pretending to be someone she wasn’t? It didn’t make any sense to him what was happening between them. It seemed far too fake a sibling relationship. Brothers and sisters didn’t lie to each other about their personalities.

He saw Ryo-nii grab her legs and balance her on his back and saw Aya flush beet red. Great, now he knew why she was so different around Ryo-nii. She liked him!

For some reason this didn’t seem to fit well with him. He concurred it to be that she was competition for his brother. How could she even think that Ryo-nii would like her better than his own flesh and blood little brother?

“Shun we have to talk later about how to treat a lady, especially Aya-chan. She’s so delicate. She’s also extremely light and easy to toss around so you must be careful when playing with her. Am I understood?” Ryo said before leaving. He stared at Shun as he turned around to face the now just sitting Shun as he leant at the back of his bed rubbing his back. Aya was light sure…and Shun wouldn’t be marrying Mao one day! Those two things were just as likely as the other!

“Yes Ryo-nii.” He said staring at Aya behind Ryo. He couldn’t bring himself to concentrate on Ryo’s face though when he saw Aya acting out funny faces for him through the lecture, she was pulling down her eyelids, and sticking her tongue out and then crossing her eyes.

He wanted to laugh…a lot. She looked so utterly foolish! But instead he settled for giving her a ‘god-you’re-so-immature look.’ After all she was the bane of his existence at the moment. He couldn’t give her the pleasure of knowing that he actually found some of her antics funny.

“Good then…we’ll take about this later in length.” Ryo finished and turned around to start walking away from Shun and out the door. As they were about to leave Aya quickly faced his way and blew him a flying kiss.

Shun immediately swatted it away.

Aya flipped him off.
