Appendix XLII [FE]
Appendices [RS]A/N: This was a request (ate siiii).
I'm probably the only one smiling and jumping on my heels right now. Big smile only even though someone scolded me and shouted at me, calling me a kid even though he was the one who bumped into me.
Nothing can ruin my mood right now.
Flying during the holiday season means that the airport is buzzing with people. Lots of people. Some are already bored. Probably because their flight got delayed. Some are irritated because they still have to work despite the bells already jingling and the lights twinkling all around us, accompanied by the usual Christmas songs we always hear every single year.
I went to my assigned boarding gate and looked for an empty seat. I placed my pack beside me and checked on Ggomo in the space bag on my lap.
I gently tapped on the bag to get his attention. "You okay there, buddy?"
He was glowering at the people around us so he might not be feeling okay.
"Bear with me, Ggomo, okay? Just for one day"
While waiting, I plugged in my earphones and listened to some music. I'm getting sick of the Christmas songs I've been hearing everywhere around me now. A chill R&B song started playing to my ears, making me swing my feet in front of me while rocking my head to the tunes of my song.
I remembered a time when I felt so sappy during the holiday season because I was so immature and selfish back then. Now, I made do with my supposed plan back then but wasn't able to pursue it because I chose to be sad rather than to be understanding.
And that plan is to surprise my fiancée.
I can't wait to see her reaction. Ooh… it'll be wonderful. She'll be shocked for sure. She'll think I'm crazy. Might even get mad at me but I know she can't resist me. And our son. Which was why I brought Ggomo with me despite looking so grumpy.
I'll be rewarding him with lots of treats. That's for sure.
Our plane started boarding passengers. Unlike the others, I remained in my seat with my passport and ticket ready. I wanted to be last for a full effect.
"Ooh… I'm sure she'll be happy to see us, Ggomo"
I squealed internally while my feet wiggled on their own. I'm just buzzing with excitement.
I presented my passport and ticket with a giant smile before I headed to the plane with a skip in every step. I greeted the flight attendants at the entrance before I searched inside the cabin for all those wearing the pastel blue and white jackets.
They either wear the blue coat or the white one and I'm not sure which one she's wearing.
I raised myself on my tiptoes and tried to peak over everyone ahead of me just to look for her. I bit my lip out of nervousness when I still couldn't see her.
"Ggomo… I'm starting to feel nervous. This should be the plane, right?" I mumbled to my cat. "Tell me this is the right plane, Ggomo-yah"
I check my ticket again and match its details with the one I saved on my phone. If I got the wrong ticket, then everything else wouldn't matter at all.
The details matched up but it didn't make me feel relieved at all. I need to see my fiancée.
And it was like a breath of fresh air swept over me when I finally saw her. The relief I felt was unimaginable but it soothed me to the point that I almost lost strength on my knees. I was back to smiling once again. Smiling wider this time now that I've seen her.
She was busy checking on the overhead compartments and helping other passengers with their bags. She hasn't seen me yet and has no idea I was coming towards her. Being short has its advantages and one of those is for surprises like this.
I took my time walking towards my seat. I bought the one that's on the very last row because she mentioned that she's stationed at the back. That way I'll be close to her for most of our flight.
I was the very last passenger to get in the airplane and she still hasn't noticed me. Her eyes were focused but I could still notice her exhaustion by the way her shoulders sag and when she sighs. And I'm here to hopefully take them away.
She was rearranging the bags in the compartment when I was already standing right beside her. With my index finger, I tapped her shoulders to get her attention. My grin was ready by the time she faced me.
"Anything I could help you wi—" She blinked her eyes while staring at me in disbelief. "Whee…" she whispered my name. "What are you doing here?" she asked. She was still in a state of shock.
I bit back my giggle and just smiled at her. "I need help with my bag please"
That snapped her out of trance as she shook her head a little bit.
"Of course"
"Thank you!" I answered cheerfully, hearing her chuckling.
"I can't believe you're here" she whispered under her breath.
She lifted my bag up in the compartment while I sat on my seat. Once she had closed all the overhead compartments, she raised an eyebrow at me, still shaking her head in disbelief.
"You're unbelievable, love." She helped me with my seatbelt, smiling down at Ggomo. "You even brought a grumpy Ggomo with you"
"Who'd watch over him if I'll just leave him at home?"
"You're ridiculous." She took a couple of seconds to just stare at me while I displayed my dimple for her. With a shake of her head, she went back to work. But not without saying how ludicrous the situation was.
I smiled at her back and let her work.
I'm lucky that I'm the only one who's sitting on the back of the cabin. I have all the space for myself, which also means that Ggomo has a lot of space for him. I placed his space bag on the seat beside me and ped it.
"Come on, Ggomo. Mommy's about to do the safety demo"
I secured his leash before pulling him out of his bag onto my lap. I leaned on my side with Ggomo in my arms, peeking at his Mommy. And the moment Yong and I made eye contact, she broke character. She couldn't hold back fr
