The Garden of Orange Butterflies
Description
It is said that butterflies carry the souls of those who passed away. And that if a butterfly enters your home, it means that someone you knew who passed away is making a visit. It bears the soul of a loved one.
But what if there exists a butterfly personified? A butterfly fairy? Does that fairy also carry the soul of a loved one? Or even a piece of it?
Jung Wheein, jack of all trades but a master of arts, continues to struggle in the huge city of Seoul. She’s been through a couple of jobs but has never stayed in one. These jobs range from waiting tables, brewing coffees, mixing drinks, busking in the busy streets, and many more. But art remains a constant, along with her love for rescued animals. And yet she’s still struggling to fend for herself. She needs a job.
An opportunity opens for her when a close friend, whom she also treats as an older sister, pitches her to her boss when their company was in need of a secretary. She dressed up, waited for her name to be called, and came face-to-face with the founders of KYAH Tech., a rising IT company.
Despite being hopeful that she’ll get the job, Wheein left the interview room perplexed. She can never forget the intense pair of brown eyes that seems to penetrate the depths of her soul.
Foreword
Hi! I’m back with another WheeSun fic. Please be good to me! Before starting the story, I wanted you to know a few things first:
1. English is not my first language. I apologize in advance for the errors in grammar and spelling.
2. I'm familiar with Korea's honorifics but I'm still not confident in using them. I'm using the common formalities (like miss or mister, etc). I might use unnie but that’s it.
3. This is a sequel to my other story titled, “A Courtroom of Silent Voices.” You don’t have to read that before reading this. The two stories can be read independently but if you really wanted to fully understand what happened, especially Yongsun’s character (or Solar, her non-Korean name), you can read that one before this one.
4. It is important to know and remember that Gabby’s character from “A Courtroom of Silent Voices” and Wheein’s character in this story are two different characters. However, there exists similarities between the two characters but they shall still be considered separate.
5. Dialogues (the ones in between quotation marks) that are italicized means that they are spoken in English. I will also emphasize it in the narrations to hopefully avoid confusion. Most of these are said by Solar/Yongsun and/or Maria/Hyejin’s characters. While the rest are spoken in Korean since the story is set there. Of course, I can’t write them in Korean since I don’t know Korean. Basically, in this story, the characters are speaking in either Korean or English. There are also cases that I italicize word/s to stress those words out or for emphasis.
6. I am hoping for this to be fluff but based on my previous stories, I don’t think I have achieved that at all. I’ll try to make this as fluff as I can and hopefully pull that off.
7. Any names, places, and stories similar to this or to the things mentioned in the fic are purely COINCIDENTAL. Everything is just the product of my imagination and is purely a work of FICTION.
Hopefully you'll enjoy the story! Thank you!
