Pain.

Joshua stood at the foot of bed, staring down at Hoshi. He had returned to Hoshi’s bedroom and waited for the younger Immortal to wake up. 

Hoshi’s eyes began to twitch, signaling that his soul was slowly coming back from Hell. 

Seconds later, his eyes shot open. 

“You’re awake,” Joshua mumbled. 

“I am,” Hoshi replied. “Is it morning already?” Joshua nodded. “Have you been here all night, hyung?” Hoshi questioned, rubbing his temples. Joshua nodded again. 

“Why?”

‘To see you suffer of course’ the demon inside Joshua incited. 

Joshua shook his head, eyes glaring at Hoshi before him. The younger’s eyes widened, realizing that Joshua was in his bedroom because his demon had lured him in.

Joshua, keeper of Pain, had been one of the culprits to murder Hoshi last night before the clock struck 12 midnight. He, along with the keeper of Death, were responsible for initiating the death-curse. 

As the demon keeper of Pain, Joshua was responsible for making sure Hoshi suffered before he was dragged to Hell every midnight. 

Because Hoshi’s demon is Violence with the death-curse, Joshua and Jun were also made part of the midnight death. 

Pain had to make sure Violence suffered while Death made sure Hoshi’s soul visited Hell in the inferno before returning the next morning.
