Crossing the Parallel Paths
Stepping out of the gates with his luggage in tow, Jaehyun inhaled the Seoul air. Looking towards the other side of the fence, he easily found Taeyong and Johnny smiling at him.
“Welcome back.” Johny patted Jaehyun’s shoulders while grabbing the luggage from him.
“It’s good to be back,” Jaehyun responded, following them to the car.
After spending most of his late twenties in the Hong Kong headquarters, Jaehyun had been transferred to the Seoul branch as the local manager, thus finally returning home. He had specifically requested to return a few weeks earlier so as to allow himself more time with his friends. That did mean however that his flat — arranged by the company — was not ready yet, therefore he would be freeloading at Taeyong’s.
“This is quite nostalgic huh?” Jaehyun sighed in contentment as he made himself comfortable on Taeyong’s couch. “Just like the good old uni days.”
“It’s a lot quieter though,” Taeyong hummed.
“We can just call Seulgi and it will get real noisy real quick,” Johnny chuckled, waving his phone that he had just used to order food delivery.
“She’s probably too busy partying with celebrities to pick up calls from us nobodies.” Jaehyun pouted.
Taeyong and Johnny looked at each other in amusement at Jaehyun’s sudden dejected state at the mention of Seulgi.
“Is that jealousy I detected?” Johnny mused, resting his chin in the palm of his hand as his gaze bore into Jaehyun.
