University: Brutes.
Crossing the Parallel Paths
A gathering had been organised for the architecture department. Taeyong and Jaehyun found themselves cramped inside the private room of a barbecue restaurant along with a bunch of both familiar and unknown faces. Like any other university dinner, there was plenty of alcohol going around, however Taeyong had barely been able to touch his glass because of a female student who kept invading his personal space, audaciously flirting with him while proudly showing off her cleavage.
Taeyong had thrown multiple silent pleas of help towards Jaehyun but the latter merely shrugged his shoulders, sipping on his beer and enjoying himself a bit too much for Taeyong’s liking. The two friends locked gazes and in that moment, the same memory had crossed through their minds: the time Eunji confessed to Taeyong in the art room, the very incident that brought them all together.
“So Taeyong, what type of girl do you like?” The female student purred, bringing Taeyong back to the present.
Blinking slowly, Taeyong’s eyebrows etched together in a frown. For starters he did not even know the name of this girl, and he did not feel comfortable around her. At the same time he did not wish to come off as rude and thus he simply opened and closed his mouth, unable to provide a proper answer.
Taking pity on the male, Jaehyun gulped the remainder of his beer and slammed the empty glass on the table. He then leaned closer towards the girl and tapped his fingers on his chin as a glint of mischief could be seen in his eyes, raising alarm bells in Taeyong’s mind.
“Brutes,” Jaehyun quipped, answering in Taeyong’s stead. “He likes brutes. It’s because he’s so demure and delicate so he likes someone more brash, someone who will quite literally knock him off his feet. He finds the adrenaline rush of being on the receiving end of the wrath simply too irresistible.”
