Crossing the Parallel Paths
“Look at you all grown up,” Johnny chirped, grinning over the cup of coffee he had ordered.
Taeyong rolled his eyes while running a hand through his hair, jokingly kicking Johnny’s chair.
“Stop talking like an old man.”
“But I am an old man. I’m an old man mingling with youngsters like you in a desperate attempt to cling onto what remains of my youth,” Johnny declared dramatically as he stood up.
“Don’t give me the Freudian talk.” Taeyong shook his head though he could not hide the smile that grew on his face.
Johnny’s dramatic flair and humour was definitely something he had missed tremendously. Sure, Nari, Jaehyun and Seulgi brought out their own fair share of comedic relief, however it was just different.
“Freud is all about father complex,” Johnny corrected, easily matching Taeyoung’s steps as they started walking towards the latter’s home. “Do your research.”
“But I’ve got you,” Taeyong naturally responded while giving the taller male a cheeky grin, momentarily shedding his usual calm and collected demeanour.
Throwing an arm around Taeyong’s shoulders, Johnny pulled him closer, ruffling his hair the way he would with a puppy much to Taeyong’s annoyance.
“It’s good to be back,” Johnny hummed, lifting his head to appreciate the floating clouds.
“Had a good first day of classes yesterday?”
Glancing at the shorter male, Johnny jutted his lips out in deep thought before nodding his head.
“Yes, yes I did I suppose,” Johnny hummed. “Actually there was a rather interesting girl in one of my core modules. Too bad I didn’t get her name. All I know is that she has wild hair.”
Hearing the description, Taeyong’s mind immediately went to Nari, however he immediately shook the thought away since she was in a completely different department. Something in the back of his mind was nagging at him however, something related to the random module Nari had signed up. However Taeyong did not bother dwell on the matter any further.
By now the two childhood friends were standing inside the lift of the building Taeyong lived in and the young male was eager to introduce his friends to Johnny, much like a kid showing off his favourite toy to his parents.
With a light skip in his steps, Taeyong glided through the corridors the moment they exited the lift and made a beeline for his flat. Opening the door, he was greeted with Jaehyun standing by the dining table while holding the broom.
“Hey you’re back,” Jaehyun greeted the male, looking up from the ground. “And that must be the mystery girlfriend.”
“Huh?” Johnny raised a confused eyebrow though Taeyong just shook his head.
“That’s Jaehyun my flatmate. Just ignore him,” Taeyong scoffed but paused when he noticed a suspicious pile of hair by Jaehyun’s feet. “What on earth is that?”
“Traces of wrath,” Jaehyun casuall
